What are your phobias?

The Sum of Awe

I fricken hate spiders!!!!! I can tolerate them, but they freak me out initially. however, if it's a big fluffy one like a full grown wolf spider then I'll likely be too nervous to go after it (unless it's out in the open where I can see it clearly)

I don't have any real phobias. But everytime I get in my Truck I'm afraid it's not going to start. It's old.

I have a mild fear of crossing bridges. Actually I'm not afraid of crossing a bridge, but I'd be afraid if the bridge started collapsing beneath me.

I also have a mild fear of ships, or at least sinking ships. It would be pretty scary being on a submarine at hull crush depth.

Terminally ill people/animals I think as an extension of a fear of loss or perhaps death (not my death though). I struggle to visit family members that are dying, and I struggle to care for my animals when they are sick. My heart pounds, I get cold sweats, etc. Fear response. I do my best to ignore the feelings though, because the moment isn't about me, and my fear is just a feeling. My family member deserves my support regardless.

It's a guilty fear for me :(

I seemed to have had social phobia for quite some time but that seems to have vanished over the last few decades. I don't think I have any other phobias as to heights, small spaces, water and such, or as to towards any creatures (the UK has little to fear in that regard), although I suppose my outdoor activities must have helped in some of these, since I'm sure I wasn't born to accept these naturally without gradually exposing myself to them - the heights and small spaces. Free-diving a cave sump has probably been the greatest fear I had to overcome - and hardly a phobia, given the numbers who die doing so.
