Today, a new law by the Taliban comes into effect banning women from gyms and parks.

Yes, you read that correctly --- PARKS.

My fingers are screaming to type 50,000 lines of snide, but I'd rather stay a member of RF in good standing.

It's their country now. Not anyone else's problem anymore.

But I agree with you at the same time.

I have a solution in mind: send in an immense military force and remove ALL the females in Afghanistan, and give them new homes elsewhere. The men in the Taliban will soon find themselves up to their wazoos in sins of the flesh. Serve 'em right, too. :D

I think i would have enjoyed the snide.
Oh, you would, trust me. I'm very good at it. It's gotten me in trouble a couple of times.

(Once, I was sitting in a bar in Toronto, and a couple of older, somewhat effeminate men were talking and laughing animatedly close by. At one point, as they were talking about their ages, one of them said, "oh, honey, these aren't wrinkles, they're laugh lines!" Well, I couldn't help myself any longer, and interrupted their conversation just long enough to say, "nothing's that funny!"

Oh, you're being sarcastic.
I get it!
BTW, brevity & sarcasm are most effective.

That's not snide, what it is is good honest sarcasm.

I understand, it's because most Muslim men can't control/help themselves, that's why they control women

Do you believe the Taliban, an extremist organization responsible for multiple terror attacks, is representative of "most Muslim men"? If not, then how can we draw any conclusion about most Muslim men from this especially extremist law?

I was nodding along until I read that. I'm uninterested in another round of Islam/Muslim bashing so I'm not going to follow this thread. Allah hu Akbar and see you later.

Philosophical Buddhism, huh? I'll have to check into that.

It is everywhere, the contempt for women, or "dumb broads" as they are sometimes called.

I believe the term was ditzy broads, wasn't it?

Pretty good.

How about another humorous wrinkle anecdote? My mother, well up in her years, saw a dermatologist about palmar eczema. After he asked her to show him her palms, the doc went into Karnak mode, looked at her palms and said, "I see a long life for you." Then he looked up at her and said, "Sorry. I see you've already lived most of it." OK, that was outrageous, but she laughed hysterically as did I when she told me about it.

Jeanne Calment, the oldest documented person who died age 122+ was interviewed for TV a couple of years before her death. After the questions about what she attributes here many years to she was told that she didn't look her age. Her reply "i have only one wrinkle... And im sitting on it"
