Baptism in Christianity

IndigoChild5559

Loving God and my neighbor as myself.
"Most" Abrahamic believers are dualists. They divide God/divine, or separate God/divine from themselves.

Oneness or atonement can't be achieved by dividing/separating
Christians tend to be dualists, because they make Satan into a second god practically. But Judaism doesn't do this. For us, Satan is God's employee, who can only do what God allows. There is but one ultimate power--God. That's not dualism.

I've heard that type of argument before, but it is not consistent or in harmony with the Bible.
Dualists tend to be inconsistent and too often hypocritical. They'll never find God in another before they realize it in self. This is why it is said

Revelation 2:29

Revelation 3:22

ones spirit comes from god: so self is advised to listen to that spirit.

I have no idea what you're talking about and don't think I want to go into it.

I never said anything about satan or exclusively Christian. I said Abrahamic believers

As far as I understand the Scriptures, Adam was not God's employee, doing His bidding. And Satan is God's enemy, but perhaps we shall go into that later. Satan, according to the scriptures, the entire book from Genesis to Revelation which i know you don't particularly believe in, is going to be eternally put out. Of existence. God allows -- He doesn't use Satan as His employee. He permits right now, but this will not happen forever.

everything is done to God's bidding. Otherwise it's free will deluding itself as separate. God didn't create hell. Mankind did by the illusion of separation.

Discord is defining God as everywhere and anywhere but here and now. God can't be eternal=infinite and defined. The God that can be defined =delimited is not the enduring I will be what I will be

Again, this is not true in Judaism. HaSatan is considered an angel. Angels don't have free will, thus there was never any rebellion, no such thing as fallen angels. Many of the assumptions Christians make, like that the serpent in the garden was Satan or that the passage about Morning Star (Lucifer in latin) is about Satan, are not shared by Jews. You of course as a Christian have ideas that Satan is God's enemy -- that's fine. I'm just saying that this idea is not in Judaism.

And I replies, showing how Judaism and Christianity cannot really be put into the same category with regards to this issue.
It is the same idea if God is a projection and not a reflection. If God isn't understood as pantheistic or at least panentheistic

You might want to read 1 Kings chapters 21 & 22 and see how deceptive spirits are held to various personages. The evil wicked spirits delight in subterfuging people. Despite one's consideration, many spirits are fake.

It may not be in Judaism. I have a relative who actually believes he is a Kohen, he claims his father told him so. His father never went to schul, they were not orthodox, but my relative believes he receives messages from God. Furthermore, (he eats treyf, you probably know what that means).
HaSatan IS an angel. Angels are spirits, not all angels are good. And they have free choice, but HaSatan is not under HaSHEM's control. HaSHEM allows even angels or demonic SPIRITS to make their own decisions.
If you can, you might want to read 1 Kings 21 & 22, and see about those humans claiming to get messages from God, but God did not approve. And what happened to Israel at that time. I am so glad I studied the Bible and learned what is true. Thanks for your input though.

In many, many respects the factions of Judaism as well as the sects of what is called Christianity, cannot be put in the "same" category...

I've read the bible a minimum of 15+ times using at least 5 different translations.

Dividing oneself from God is what hell is all about. Thou shall not tempt love.

So the people of babel wanted to make a name for themselves. Much like many religious people. So they rejected the name of God, and the city fell.

So unless self understands the name they are baptized into, there is no revelation. Many are called few are chosen.

One can use the name or not use it but pretend it's so holy they can't say it, yet that does not mean they have God's approval.

I wrote, to which you responded: "You might want to read 1 Kings chapters 21 & 22 and see how deceptive spirits are held to various personages. The evil wicked spirits delight in subterfuging people. Despite one's consideration, many spirits are fake."
So then, do you believe that all claims of inspiration and communication from God are true? What do you think? Again, perhaps you might want to review 1 Kings 21 & 22 to recap what it says.

And how does that pertain to the name that one is baptized into

Jesus said the father is spirit and we must worship in spirit. The holy ghost is a spirit. The "name" is about spirit. Immersion is inward withe baptism into the name. It isn't outward like John's baptism. Those baptized in the name are within the temple. Those who are baptized only in water are only in the outer court.

Fool I hope all is well...
We receive the Holy Spirit at baptism and are thereby made adopted sons and daughters of God.

"Water & Spirit"! Not water alone & Not Spirit alone!

John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. RIGHT....

Fool right after Jesus said this he went out and baptized with "WATER"! Jesus wants water used to baptize!
John 3:22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized.
23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized
.

Fool Question: Why was Jesus baptizing at Aenon near Salim?? Because why? water and the Spirit...... NOT Spirit alone!

Doing right as in 'practicing what is right' in God's eyes as Jesus taught.
What happens when God's standards are ignored is what is written at 2 Timothy 3:1-5,13.
By not practicing what is righteous in God's eyes is seen in the world-wide plagues we see today:
* violence increases / grows since 911
* food shortage ( sometimes minor children loose their parents and can't fend for themselves )
* moral breakdown is seen by the number of broken families.
* teen drug use and teen sex-as-a-game to hook up along with STD's.
* greed because of love of money financial greed.
* polluted earth causes suffering.
So, the humble 'sheep' are Not part of the haughty 'goat' problem but are part of the solution.
The 'sheep' do good to Jesus' brothers (Matthew 25:40) his spiritual brothers.
So, we are speaking about three (3) groups: sheep /goats and Jesus' 'brothers'.
The 'brothers' as mentioned at Luke 22:28-30; Daniel 7:18, 21-22.
They are the saints/holy ones called to govern with Jesus - Revelation 20:6; Revelation 5:9-10
The figurative 'sheep' can gain everlasting life on Earth as Jesus promised at Matthew 5:5 from Psalms 37:9-11
.
URAVIP2ME I hope all is well.

Yes, the "Righteous" are Doing right as in 'practicing what is right' in God's eyes as Jesus taught.
The Righteous are saved! The scriptures tell us "The Sheep are Righteous!" The Sheep are doing right as in 'practicing what is right' in God's eyes as Jesus taught.
Sheep>>> 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

URAVIP2ME Jesus is Judging the Sheep and Goats at the end of time, the story starts with...
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him ..

The Sheep "Do Right!" The Goats have "Faith Alone"! The Goats are EXACTLY as the Sheep, both address Jesus as Lord! The ONLY difference between the two is the Goats do nothing! The Sheep have "Good Works"! The Goats are Children of Satan!
Goats>>> 41 Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry, and you gave me nothing...

1 John 3:7
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.

URAVIP2ME Doing Right saves!

All of God' AUITHORITY is given to the "CHURCH"! With God' AUTHORITY the Church makes God' children by baptizing! The Church only uses water to baptize Jesus uses the Holy Spirit!
Water & Spirit
Bride & Groom make God' children!

Speaking for God with all of God' authority representing God the Church makes disciples by Baptizing! Disciples are God' Children!
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing

Fool... Disciples are made by baptizing!
GO.....make disciples of all nations, baptizing

The Church ADDED 3000 people to the Body of Jesus the first day of Pentecost by "Baptizing"! The CHURCH made 3000 DISCIPLES by baptizing!
The CHURCH only uses water to baptize! The Bride uses WATER!
Ephesians 3:10
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
1 Timothy 3:15
if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
