Yes, in at least one case.Do Baha'i covert people to their way of thinking?Yes or no?
They try hard, but generally fail, just like others who try to convert people to their way of thinking.Do Baha'i covert people to their way of thinking?Yes or no?
No, we do not try to convert people, but sometimes people choose to join after doing their own investigation of the Baha'i Faith.Yes, in at least one case.
No, that was not a conversion, that was a choice that he made of his own accord.Yes, in at least one case.
No. But I do think Baha'i folks can't make it past 2 or 3 paragraphs without having the intense compulsion to put Baha'i or Baháʼu'lláh into it.Do Baha'i covert people to their way of thinking?Yes or no?
You're right. But it's true for many people here. It doesn't take that long before their world view comes up. When you're emotionally attached and dependent on your world view, it's natural. As the wise saying goes: "With ________, it's always about _________."No. But I do think Baha'i folks can't make it past 2 or 3 paragraphs without having the intense compulsion to put Baha'i or Baháʼu'lláh into it.
The official statement appears to be, "we don't convert" "we proudly proclaim to simply engender a feeling of curiosity and response to the word of God in the seeker’s heart"
How Do Baha’is Spread their Faith?
They have substituted what seem like more appropriate words, like 'pioneer' for missionary. Hundreds of Baha'is have 'pioneered' or gone off to faraway places to proselytise. For 'proselytise' , they us 'share'. But few are fooled by simple changes in language.
Indeed. Just like billboards. In India, every Christian Church or Christian school or hospital has this gigantic billboard (cross) on the top of it. The Baha'i faith built a gigantic temple in Delhi and promoted it. The people who go are 99% tourists, 1% Baha'i, as it's on the tourist rounds like the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and other historically 'important' monuments.Marketing.
Oh, I've never heard of "pioneers" before. Thanks,They have substituted what seem like more appropriate words, like 'pioneer' for missionary. At least one of our Baha'i friends on this forum spent time as a 'pioneer'. The 'pioneer' program and encouragement for it is the main reason why they can claim it's so widespread.Oh, I've never heard of "pioneers" before. Thanks,
Here in Canada a primary target is the indigenous peoples. As if they haven't had enough of Abrahamic religions already. The most damning evidence I found that Baha'is proselytize is the Ruhi Institute. However, I think Baha'is tend to target people who don't already have a religion... Proselytization requires that one is already in a religion. Baha'is tend to target people who don't have one.
The Bahais teach their Faith teachings, but leave others to choose their own religion. For example we may emphasize on equality of men and women, which is a Bahai teaching startes 150 years ago, but we don't ask people to convert to the Bahai Faith. Whoever has become Bahai, it was on their own choosing.Do Baha'i covert people to their way of thinking?Yes or no?
Thanks. Now I remember ... it's also called 'teaching'. I'm really not sure how much 'pioneering' goes on today. With an aging adherent population, it may have lessened substantially, as it was kind of a young people's deal.
