Oh, boy...another socialist who believes that capitalism
doesn't have cooperation. And that cooperation means
"socialism".

Do you have internet access to an English dictionary?
Here's one...
Definition of socialism | Dictionary.com
a theory or system of social organization that advocates the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, capital, land, etc., by the community as a whole, usually through a centralized government.
That definition is incorrect, according to my book of political economics.
And a book of political economics is more reliable than a Dictionary.

It's the standard definition across every English
dictionary I've checked. So your one agenda
laden commie Italian book canna over-rule
cromulent dictionaries here.
Besides....you don't even have a link. You
might be making a translation or reading error.

It's a book written in Italian.
Socialism is a term that defines an ensemble of movements, ideologies, and doctrines aimed at reducing and/or eliminating social inequalities, through policies traditionally defined as "leftist".

Then it makes several examples, like the State that helps people find employment or the State that provides retired workers with pensions.

Seriously, I am realizing that in the West, people are still prisoners of their own desires.
Of their own slight veiled greed....
They think life is eternal...that life is for stockpiling stuff.
Forgetting we will have to leave all that on this Earth....because in the afterlife there is no room for clutter.
Life is something we should not take for granted. Tomorrow I can also die in an accident...and I am not preoccupied with that.
Because I have lived my life to the fullest, freed from desire.

I'm just trying to leave something for my kids. So they can have a better life/better opportunities.
If I can do that, then I will feel fulfilled.
Yes we leave it all but IMO, what we leave is important.

So selfish.
I like it.

So your native word usage doesn't rule here.
Besides, it's from a country that uses its canals as
an open sewer. Venice...careful where you wade.

My country is a country that has had countless Socialist parties, several socialist governments.
How many socialist governments has the US ever had? Zero. It has had only either democratic or republican governments. Which are basically the same plutocratic ideology.
So...they are unaware of socialism, in my humble and personal opinion.

The United States is a plutocracy founded by Freemasons, where the wealthy are privileged in the fields of justice and healthcare.
In the United States they let the poor die of cancer, because the poor can't afford a surgery. They don't even have an insurance.
In my country the State pays for all the surgeries, even if you are wealthy.

So...I am very proud of being Italian...and Venice is a paradise.;)

Just an aside, but we have to be careful these days when talking about "socialism". Indeed that is the original definition, but, particularly in the USA it can be used to refer to just about anything that isn't out and out capitalism. Universal healthcare? Socialist! Social Security? Socialist! Any form of redistribution of wealth? Socialist!

I often ask people that say stuff like that to define "socialist". Few can.

I'm resisting the movement by liberals & conservatives
to re-define "socialism" as any government program
that benefits the common good. That's just stoopid.

Probably in the US it has a negative connotation.
In Europe it doesn't have it. In Spain and in Germany two socialistic leaders rule.
Not to mention socialistic parties in Scandinavian countries.

Stoopid indeed. Now let's discuss the average American's inability to distinguish Socialism from Communism. ;)

The Froggies can say what they want.
But saying so doesn't make it so.
Unless the people own the means
of production, it's not socialism.
You insisting the only socialist societies are the mixed economies you don't like doesn't make places like France or Norway without Socialism. They themselves embrace it, they tought it, and you think you're going to tell them how their system really is?
Reminds me more of Conservatives who hate trans people and use whatever excuse to try to claim transpeople are still their birth sex.

It is indeed regularly trashed by both parties.
It does seem like there are a few on each side that intends to do their duty in upholding and protecting the Constitution. Nonetheless, I cannot find myself trusting their depiction or claims of benevolent intentions, I blindly presume them all to be the 'boy who cried wolf' until hard evidence shows the obverse.

Guilty until proven innocent, kind of like the DOJ treats the impoverished.

Everyone in Norway owns the nation's supply of oil. That is socialist.
And yet, they have privately owned businesses.
Also, you say the people own that resource.
This isn't strictly the "means of production".
You should address who produces & refines
that oil.
Paying attention to definitions matters...or
it should matter to you lefties & righties.

You seem to be one who is trying to strictly approach these things when it comes to countries used as examples of successful socialism by focusing on the capitalism and when it comes to the mixed economy nature also seen in places used as failed examples of socialism.
But when people are involved things are rarely black and white, either or.
