Democrats drift into Marxism. Why?

Only few Democrats are Marxists. The party's policies are mostly economically right of most of the developed world.

The scaremongering around Marxism seems to be a relic from the Red Scare and Cold War. Almost every country with strong social welfare borrows elements from Marxist thought. The ideology has many useful ideas, contrary to what Red Scare distortion may imply.

Yea. That push towards a single massive centralized government to rule the masses.

I fear that for some very good reasons personally.
All your doing is agreeing with me you don't know snakes from dildos about Marxism and don't have an accurate view of Dems.

Defund the police. The first rallying cry of the reds.

. . . Arm the IRS, SS, or any other combination of letters beholden to the federal government rather than state and local government. Outlaw local gun ownership and make it a crime for anyone but the IRS, SS, or any other federal branch to be armed.

It's pretty clearly a federal government trying to prepare to tell the people what to do (or else), rather than the people telling the federal government what to do (as the Founders intended).

Oh but I do.

Their policies make it plain as day.

The left wants and are pushing for centralized government and centralized means of legislation completely ignoring states rights.

It's called democratic centralism.

No. I'm old enough to see the changes first hand and America's rapid decline in the freedom index to discount that.
As am I. And I saw it coming when Reagan was in office. What we see today is a direct result of Republican policies since (at least) that time. After 9/11, it got much worse, but has always been in the background. Trump simply capitalized on the work done by a long list of those trying to remove basic rights and create fear and loathing of those who are different.

And since it is mostly republicans that tend this direction......
Really?
While they're the cretin de jour (eg, SCOTUS antics,
insurrection), Dems have also done much to attack
liberty, eg, civil forfeiture, qualified immunity for cops,
etc, etc. (It's a long list that I've spared you.)

The midterm elections are coming up, so unfortunately we're going to get a lot of these insanely stupid assertion threads. Whatever the right wing talking heads are spewing will end up being echoed, here, the next day ... by at least one of the same three posters.

He's just aping the left "wing talking heads spewing
these insanely stupid assertion threads". But you
don't object to those.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander, eh.

Not a surprising post. Since conservatives in this country are racing towards turning us into a Christian Nationalist Theocracy, he's got to make up more b.s. about liberals turning into Marxists. It's the same as how they claim that liberals are a bunch of socialists, while completely ignoring the fact that the US is already a socialist nation. It's just that we practice corporate socialism far more than socialism for the common citizen. It's corporations and the rich that get the tax breaks. We funnel over 770 BILLIONs dollars each and every YEAR to the military industrial complex, so we can have stealth planes that can't fly in the rain and thousands of addition tanks that the Pentagon doesn't want and will never use.
