Will Russia use nukes?

There are many speculative stories about the increasing threats of nuclear war by Russia. We now have the a Ukrainian "Sudetenland" land grab which of course Ukraine and the west won't recognize. So Ukraine will continue to take back its territory which Russia has now claimed as theirs. I found this article to be realistic and sober.

U.S. steps up intel, surveillance after Putin’s nuke threats

Putin has made veiled references since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February that he might resort to using nuclear or chemical arms to change the course of the battle or if Russia itself is threatened.

However, those threats grew bolder last week when he said he was prepared to “use all the means available to us,” including “various weapons of destruction.”

“I’m not bluffing,” he added.
...
“Let’s imagine that Russia is forced to use the most fearsome weapon against the Ukrainian regime which had committed a large-scale act of aggression that is dangerous for the very existence of our state,” said Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, in a post on Telegram, Reuters reported.
...
Yet gaining advanced knowledge of any looming Russian attack would by definition be a hard task. Some two dozen Russian weapon systems can deliver both conventional explosives and low-yield nuclear warheads, said the first U.S. official.

And public estimates are that Russia has more than 1,900 tactical nuclear warheads, also referred to as non-strategic nuclear weapons.
...
Top intelligence officials have been stepping up their warnings in recent months about Russia’s growing reliance on tactical nuclear weapons in its military strategy.

Avril Haines, the director of national intelligence told Congress in February that Russia “is expanding and modernizing its large, diverse, and modern set of nonstrategic systems, which are capable of delivering nuclear or conventional warheads.”

“Moscow,” she added, “believes such systems offer options to deter adversaries, control the escalation of potential hostilities, and counter U.S. and allied troops near its border.”

U.S. military commanders and intelligence experts hope that the first indication that Russia has decided to go nuclear in Ukraine won’t be a mushroom cloud.
...
“We might think, ‘huh that’s a little bit different from the way they normally operate. They are sending in this one unit, but pulling everybody else back. That’s really different. That’s strange,’” the government official outlined one possible scenario.

Others think that the Putin regime may want to telegraph his intentions in the hope of gaining diplomatic leverage.

“I think that the Russians, if they are getting ready to do that, would be trying to signal that,” said Franklin Miller, a former veteran Pentagon official and National Security Council nuclear policy official in the George W. Bush administration. “They would, in an ostentatious manner, arrange for the nuclear rounds to come out of the special storage sites. They’d give us a hint that they’re moving munitions from central storage sites to firing units. And then give us more time to think about it and worry.”
...
But the first U.S. official is not counting on much notice. “For those smaller nuclear weapons, we’re probably not going to know.”

I just hope that the end result is different than this short Babylon 5 clip

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I find it hard to believe Putin is the only one in the Kremlin with the red button.

I doubt he is even able to use a nuke without consulting senior government officials first.

I doubt he'd consult anyone but it's possible some generals might object in a very forceful way.

I wouldn't rule it out, I think it depends on how things go with the 300000 people he intends to send there.

As I see it there are primarily two things that could end this conflict somewhat fast.

1. China grows a pair and steps up and condemns Russia. But guess they are as corrupt as he is, so probably not going to happen.
2. Some sensible Russians throw Putin in the gutter.

I doubt it. Looks like it might just Round Two of the Cold War.
If you assume, perhaps, that Putin is sane...

...or if you assume that he is not in fact ill and soon to die, and so doesn't care what happens to the planet after him (he's an atheist, let's be honest),

...or if you assume that he is not willing to go to absolutely any length to "save face" and hang on to his virtual "tzardom."

Otherwise, well....it seems possible. Insane, yes, but possible.

It has been said that tactical nukes are theoretically ineffective against the formations used by Ukraine. The forces don't mass together except at moments when they need to. Radio communications make this possible. Why sit in a clump waiting to be attacked? A tactical nuke is for taking out concentrated forces. Russia could use it against a building, supply point or something tactical. A tactical nuke makes a scary explosion. It might be used for shock and awe tactics to try and convince an enemy to surrender. It might disrupt things underground. If you blew up something important with it, then that might annoy a lot of people. If the enemy is in formation and massed together then it could be useful for taking many out at one time. Otherwise it is an expensive hole digger that is very frightening.

I rather think that a much better question might be "how bad will it be when Russia uses nukes?" Because if it comes to that, there are no winners.

I think if USA citizens believed that someone had use a long range nuke in an offensive war that we would all be changed. I think it might end our country. We might stop being what we are. No one has opened that can. So far we can say "Well, nobody is going to use long distance nukes aggressively, because that would be crazy!" If that can is opened -- if someone uses long range nukes aggressively -- then we can start thinking "Hmm. Maybe we can no longer afford to let non allied countries have nukes. Maybe we must become aggressive."

When Donetsk and other eastern regions of Ukraine officially become a part of Russia, any Ukrainian attack on them becomes an attack on Russia, and the game rules change. It is then very conceivable that it will become a NATO Russian war. Russia without a doubt will use tactical nukes if the NATO trained and armed Ukrainian forces make inroads on these areas. It is inconceivable to me that Russia would ever surrender without using any available weapon including strategic nukes at their disposal that may stave off defeat. If that means MAD, so be it, if Russia goes down, the whole world will go down with it...Armageddon!

Trump warns of possible World War III over Ukraine

Trump was asked by host John Catsimatidis what things “keep you up at night.”

“I think more than anything else, I think we could end up in World War III and it could be all of the horrible things that took place in Ukraine,” he said.

Trump also alluded to Putin’s speech last week in which he vowed to “use all the means at our disposal to protect Russia and our people.”

“I think we’re at the most dangerous time maybe in, in many, many years — maybe ever — because of the power of nuclear,” Trump said.

“For a major nation that’s equal with us on nuclear power to be throwing around the word cavalierly, like nuclear, is, is a very bad time. A very bad time for this country and a very bad and a very dangerous time for the world.”

Trump also agreed with Catsimatidis’ suggestion that if he were still president, Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine earlier this year.

“I got along with him very well. I spoke to him. I understood him,” Trump said of the Russian leader. “He understood me, probably. But I understood him well, and he would have never done it.”

The patterned human coded behaviour design.

Is thought in the mind of its creator.

A man.

Large mass nuclear exploding above inherited on earth had changed his innocent consciousness.

Is a known observed studied ancient cause effect.

Told man's consciousness as altered now is a cause of the large mass UFO communicating effect. It was leaving ...life would heal. Yet future fall would bring new machines into the mind of men.

Science knew exactly what it had learnt. Knew why it was learnt and how. An effect from above.

Russia had several big natural hits and proves it's real. Consciousness changed. Feelings that emotes changed.

You become mechanical in fact and act like the communicated UFO machinery manifested had....advised. Destructive. Plan strategise like nuclear Information.

It's a form of possession the teaching.

It's true. It's known.

It's exact man's warning and it's all his civilisation basis. It isn't religious which is just medical advice to condition mind by a new type of constant .....human brain conscious entrainment.

Design advised by his changed brain first had built civilisation. Humans man science secondary brought it back down himself. As he built gods cities himself out of stone.

He used dusts to bring it down is the warning. Mind of theists copying possessed by nuclear activity as they broke earths seal.

Once the rock allowed humans conscious spirituality to flourish.

If he just lived family unity natural life it wouldn't be a problem.

So you don't have to be religious to be advised it's a reality. Its real man's own scientific predictions...the machine.

It's why psychics warnings and psychic ability is proven.

Russia knows as they studied it in science too.

If men know I've never listened to my father conscious advice it's because man in every nations land fall attack was a changed mind body via DNA.

It's all of our problem. Family need to become United was our constant stated teaching. We are our own problem. Psychic was always ahead of us as man's science predicted change before it changed.

Therefore when scientists said religious science is dangerous as it's not science. It's because science isn't natural created creation.

And they were talking to themselves.

As they aren't involved in just self development they reflect their advice onto others. And never own the advice themselves.

Why brain entrainment by medical religious application is humans reality. It owned an exact known human purpose.

Be in church you aren't in the wrong temple building nukes.

Not sure what Putin will do. I guess anything is possible at this point. Considering the state of readiness of his military forces has been revealed to be less than optimal, it makes me wonder how many of his nuclear warheads will actually work.

Khrushchev was also pretty reckless playing nuclear chicken, but the Soviets removed him.

That only happens, of course, if the international community sees the annexations as legit and valid. Many simply won't so Putin only has empty words to present his case as an attack on Russia.
