House Republican Leader McCarthy unveils "Commitment to America"

Truth in love

They should change the title of the platform to "Commitment to the Party Line," because it seems more concerned with garnering votes by appealing to fearmongering and buzzwords than actually addressing national problems.

The fact that the page on national security doesn't explicitly mention mass shootings and easy access to firearms seems to me a reinforcement of the above impression.

Given that study after study show that people having guns do not increase nurse rates this would not seem like a major issue.

I guess you missed the part where it mentioned the over $9,000,000,000,000 in spending the Democrats have since Biden took office. Or the part about repealing spending such as for 87,000 more IRS agents. Both of which are certainly under our control.
If you put those dollars end to end, I wonder how many times it would circle the globe?

"Democrats are the party of crime."

Is this accurate? They cite some disturbing facts, and one is that crime is increasing all over the USA. There are police retiring and having a hard time recruiting more officers. Democrats fault? How? Sure the "defund the police" phrase was a stupid idea, and it is made worse by conservatives lying about what it means. And with more police being videoed violating civil rights it is no wonder the police have a bad reputation and hard time hiring new people.

The link says it will make things better by reducing crime, but how? This is mostly local problems, not sometghing congress can solve, unless they are going to spend more on police. Is this "wasteful" or not?

The link does do pretty well in pointing out problems, but it is quite vague and over-confident in showing republicans have any comprehensive and effective plans.

Christianity is the religion of crime.

Is there a reason not to? Are you saying "It can't happen here?"
I don't believe things without at least some evidence that indicates it's probably true. All you are doing is echoing right-wing propaganda, or so it seems. Meanwhile, with all the evidence of Trump's moral decadence that is now confirmed, that you ignore and try to explain away and/or slip into whataboutism.

Three guesses, first two don't count, as what 'Getting America Back on Track' means to Conservative Republicans.

Obviously back to the fifties! For people too young to remember, you don't want to go there.

Why aren't the forum conservatives defending this "Commitment to America"? You're letting the woke members expose the problems and flaws in it. Does this mean you agree with the woke members?

"America is exceptional." Nice to see it declared in print. Some americans need to get over themselves. The only exceptional thing I can see about the US right now is it's supposedly a part of the "free world" but is moving remorselessly towards being an anti-democratic reactionary theocracy.
U.S. conservatives tend to be very jingoistic, and some even sincerely believe that God favors America (and Israel) above the rest.

Removed from the safe confines of their echo chamber, their platform and ideology immediately disintegrates upon being exposed to any objective scrutiny.
