Homosexuality and religious.

What I meant - you can't hide behind law.
For instance, it's said our society won't accept homosexual marriage because 'it's against the law'
... later....
And, 'We won't ever accept pederasty because it's against the law.' (sex with consenting pubescent minors)
Well, once it's acceptable the laws will change to reflect this.
In civilized societies, law comes first.
Law does not make prophecies. Law is the present.
The future depends on what representatives of people vote for.

And in turn it gives religion a bad name.
Those that preach the word don't follow the word that they supposedly believe in.
What if the word you believe in tells Houses of Justice to fine adulterers and classes all sexual acts not between a married man and a married woman as adultery?

Then is the person who gives religion a bad name the one who follows the word or the one who avoids following the word?

In my opinion.

What if Harry Potter is real?

Marriage falls under #1. So yes, you do prohibit it.
Marriage includes 1. Expressions of romantic love that are not sexual, but that does not mean that The Baha'i Faith prohibits homosexuals from expressions of romantic love that are not sexual. Only sexual acts between homosexuals are prohibited.

Sure you wouldn't want them to watch their parents have intercourse (ew lol), but what if you couldn't give your husband a hug, or even call him your husband? If heterosexual relations were banned, even having children would constitute evidence that someone had a sexual relationship.
I am not suggesting banning heterosexual relations.
So according to your interpretation a gay guy could ask another gay guy if they wanted to have sex, just not actually have it? I can see how that could go wrong with a bunch of indoctrinated religious zealots, they are likely to make soliciting a crime.
He could.
I would like to see an unambiguous declaration from the Universal House of Justice that the production of movies showing sexually explicit content would not be banned and or fined under such a law.
I have no idea what the future holds, nobody knows. I don't think that is in the Book of Laws.
And would you seriously want people fined for having a kiss in public? Talk about enforcing your own tastes on others.
No, I do not suggest a fine for that. That is just a personal dislike.

If sexual acts between heterosexuals are permitted, why not those between homosexuals too? Did Bahaollah say that homosexual act or homosexuality is bad? Since I have read that Bahaollah did not even mention homosexuality, why take homosexuality as bad? It must have been OK with Allah, otherwise Bahaollah must have mentioned it.

It's My Birthday!
If you accept Bahai teachings then you accept that homosexuality is evil, immoral and a shameful aberration that needs to be purged from the world (all words taken from Bahai writings).
How is that position not intolerant and prejudiced towards homosexuals?
Saying you are not racist after shouting "P*** go home!" at an Asian is an utterly meaningless claim.

The argument that anyone who is opposed to religious intolerance and bigotry is therefore intolerant and bigoted themselves is so puerile as to barely warrant a response.

But yes, I am intolerant of Bahism's homophobia, and I will call out as an enabler of intolerance anyone who attempts to defend that homophobia.

Hope this helped.
Not helpful for you. Homosexual acts are not to be done, but unlike Christians sexual sins are not high on the list for Baha'is. If a person is gay, he has to go celibate or he/she commits a minor sin under the Baha'i law. It is evil and a sin, but not very at all in my opinion. Very hard to do. It is easier for a heterseaxual to not have sex outside of mariage. I don't know anything about gay people needing to be purged from the world. I couldn't find that statement. Can you cite that to me?

You have a lack of understanding of Baha'i morals. Not surprising. We would never say "gay person go home". That is a straw man. I'm married to a gay person.

Are you suggesting that a religion named Baha'i isn't real or that it doesn't instruct future Houses of Justice to fine adulterers once it gets enough adherents in its sacred texts?

In my opinion.

There are hundreds if religions? They all are real in the minds of their followers but which is right?
All? None? All partially? None partially?

Baha'u'llah did mention it.

Extracts from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh

We shrink for very shame, from treating of the subject of boys. Fear ye the Merciful, O peoples of the world! Commit not that which if forbidden you in Our Holy Tablet, and be not of those who rove distractedly in the wilderness of their desires. (Kitab-i-Aqdas, paragraph 107) [1]

Ye are forbidden to commit adultery, sodomy and lechery. Avoid them, O concourse of the faithful. By the righteousness of God! Ye have been called into being to purge the world from the defilement of evil passions. This is what the Lord of all mankind hath enjoined upon you, could ye but perceive it. He who relateth himself to the All-Merciful and committeth satanic deeds, verily he is not of Me. Unto this beareth witness every atom, pebble, tree and fruit, and beyond them this ever-proclaiming, truthful and trustworthy Tongue. (From a previously untranslated Tablet) [2]

I can not and will not tell others what is right or wrong for them. I can only speak of what is right and wrong for me.
Interesting... personally I feel a moral obligation to speak out and condemn anyone who claims that their god says it's right for them to harm other people. I can't just stand on the sidelines and take a neutral stance.
