I'm finding that coffee just doesn't have that kick anymore for me. My main method is now with Rockstar energy drinks but at two dollars each it's getting expensive. Before I was a coffee drinker I took generic caffiene pills for only three dollars for a whole box. Back when I did manual labor I used Ripped Fuel or Stacker pills but that might be too strong for what I do now, just sitting at a desk. When all else fails I take a sleeping pill as soon as I get home from work and pass out for the night. After a couple of days of no caffien and taking sleeping pills I'm back to normal and can get the normal high back with a cup of coffee. What do you take? Do you have to switch to a different method to keep the high going?

I found a good article on how caffiene works.

Coffee still works well enough for me, though I find that Red Bull is better before going out for a night of dancing. The energy I get lasts longer, and I don't get too tired when coming down from its effects.

Tea and coffee. Tea, two (maybe three cups a day), cofee two cups a day.

I used to be a black no sugar coffee addict - at work I would drink maybe ten mugfuls a day; believe me, it does noone any good - in that quantity.

Tea, Coffee, Chocolate-green tea is primary, but the other 2 work as well. I average 4-6 large cups of tea a day. I drink coffee is tea isn't an option. I used to drink a lot more--but have cut back quite a bit--after I started reacting adversely to the caffeine.

Soda, chocolate, and tea. Rarely do I find chocolate to my taste around here, though. :( I don't really drink caffeine for a 'kick', I just do it because I'm addicted to the stuff and don't particularly want to go through withdrawal headaches.

I can't drink coffee anymore. It just tears my stomach up. But for some reason, I can tolerate tea as long as it isn't too strong. Otherwise, chocolate is my source for caffeine when I treat myself occasionally.

I picked tea, chocolate, and Cokes. I don't care for the taste of :coffee:, but I like it as a flavour in other drinks, so I didn't count it. So far, I'm not really fond of the taste of most energy drinks.

As for a caffeine high, I can't really say it affects me that much. I know some people who can't have ANY caffeine after about 6 PM or they can't get to sleep, but I've never had this problem. OTOH, I don't get much of a pick-me-up from drinking tea or a Coke in the afternoon, even when I lay off for a few days, but I've never taken sleeping pills.

I say all this as I take a bottle of Crystal Springs water out of the freezer. Ice Ice Baby.

I've switched to a caffeine free soda, if it wasn't for chocolate, I would fear that the great goddess Caffeina would be angry at me.

I wouldn't worry. She is a forgiving goddess.

Coffee, chocolate, tea, coffee, maybe a Moxie now and then, coffee...

sooooo....

Does it bother anyone that caffeine is addictive?
It makes up for it with improved motor skills, mental alertness, and increased metabolism. It's saved my life on several occasions where I otherwise would have fallen asleep at the wheel. It has improved my job preformance where I otherwise would be in a daze. It provides a great jump start for a workout. It improves my mood, not nearly as grumpy. All in all, it has made my life better. The fact that it is mildly addictive is irrelavent so long as I am responsible and don't abuse it. I keep track of how much I take and fast from caffien on the weekends.

Nah. I figure I'm doing a public service by caffinating myself (if you saw what I'm like before my first cup of coffee in the morning, you'd understand).

before my first two cups i am violent and disheveled and lacking hand-eye coordination, which is a bad combo, essentialy what you get is a drunk hobo/frankenstein crashing around for coffee

I'm not sure "bother" is the right word for it. I'd quit it if I could do so without headaches, but for now I'm not averse to it helping me wake up at ungodly hours of the morning.
