Favorite church songs?

an anarchist

Your local anarchist.
What's your favorite church songs? Mine was always "I'll fly away". It just makes death sound so happy.
Is church songs a Christian thing? Or do other religions sing in church?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Amazing grace. Pop style.

The blood of the lamb. With a dark weird twist.

We are building a holy ghost building. With lots of screaming and refuse.

I can change. With a banjo, spoons, and a hound dog.

When feeling and pretending I'm nobility, I like Franz Tunder.

Why sing song in a Church, which Jesus did not sing, please? Right?

Regards
I dunno. There was a lot of singing In Palsms.

Oh I almost forgot one. Remember Sister Janet Mead? ....

It actually hit the charts in the 70s

Rock of ages, amazing grace, a mighty fortress, Holy, Holy, Holy, there's power in the blood, but this is probably my favorite :
1
And can it be that I should gain
An int’rest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain?
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
2
’Tis mystery all! The Immortal dies!
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love Divine!
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
3
He left His Father’s throne above,
So free, so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me.
’Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me.

Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
5
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness Divine,
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

In the newer church music, I like a bunch of them but can't pick one. I like several of Crowder's songs.

Because this is how people worship.

Sorry, but your question reads to me like, "Why pray to Jesus in a church when Jesus did not pray to Jesus?"
Jesus was never a Christian, he was a Jew, please?
Do Jews worship in the synagogue?
Synagogue, also spelled synagog, in Judaism, a community house of worship that serves as a place not only for liturgical (public worship) services but also for assembly and study.
synagogue | Definition, History, & Facts
Didn't Jesus used to go to the Synagogue to worship, please? Right?

Regards

Read some Psalms for example and you'll get the idea of Jewish worship.

Listening to this amazing Russian singer makes me almost want to become fully Christian again:

God Be With You Till We Meet Again

Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross

Nearer My God To Thee
