What Is the Largest Vehicle You Have Ever Driven or Ridden In?

I was just rewatching this video about the biggest trucks in the world:

It has made me think of a question: what is the largest vehicle you have ever driven or ridden in, whether by weight or size? What was the driving or riding experience like?

Sitting next to the driver in a semi-truck is on my bucket list. I would love to experience the road from that height.

Size wise would probably be one of those extendable buses (the kind with the big accordion thing in the middle).

Weight-wise would have to be a few fully loaded 18 wheelers.

It was okay. Nothing I would stand in line for at Disneyland.
(Anticipating this will be the most boring post in this thread).

Ridden in? A 505ft long multiple decks high (and deep), Navy Warship with a crew complement of roughly 300ppl.

Driven myself? A 44 passenger bus.

I was abducted by aliens once, but I'm not sure how big the spaceship was (I only got to see it from the inside).

That's called an articulated or tandem bus, and it looks kinda challenging to drive to my inexperienced eyes. :D

Fully loaded 18-wheelers? I'm envious even if you find them boring. :p

From back in my hitch-hiking days. Crossroad semi drivers are some of the coolest people in the world.

The Washington state ferries are as big as 460'. The biggest one I ride is about 380'.

I once drove a 60' house using a big Peterbuilt tractor. I only drove it a couple of hundred yards, but still cool.

Did you call it "the House That Peter Built"?

What was it like to drive the bus, especially compared to a car?

It took some getting used to. Mostly due to needing to relearn when and where to make right vs left hand turns. You need to go out much further then normally feels comfortable (at first) before turning. You also rely solely on your side mirrors (no rearview accept to see passengers).

Also, a bus with a front engine, is a bit easier then a rear engine, based on the positioning of the driver seat relative to the front wheels. In the latter, you sit in front of your front wheels (which of course handles turning/steering); which in turn causes it to feel like you're floating a bit when turning.

Overall though, they're fun to drive. Have a lot of power. And most drivers know to stay out of your way, and give you a wide berth.

Ridden on a cruise ship. Driven a 19' RV.

The big ones are rather boring. If you want some excitement ride the Guemes Island Ferry on a windy day:

I was on it on one of hose days. I am not sure, but I think that they chocked the tires of all the vehicles on the ferry. It can only take 22 at the most so it would not have been that much extra work.

How about a glider.?
Was very happy to put my feet back on the ground.

It was beautiful and quiet, but a curious feeling of the cable snap as the tow plane let go, and the only sound is the air and creeks of the glider.

Are those the Boulder Flatirons? I climbed a bunch of those.
