But they're mine. Harvested some of my onions today for Hloaf-fest.

I don't think there is anything more gratifying than growing your own vegetables etc. When my daughter wants to make a salad, she picks the ingredients from her garden. They also plant squash, zucchini, cauliflower and a variety of lettuce. They make wine from their grapevines.

My wife grew lettuce this year. And we managed to eat some before the summer heat kicked in. It was darn good.

Made a salad with some after the heat had set. And they were bitter as trash. Apparently high heat causes them to bolt, and then turn bitter.
