To anyone familiar with astronomy, this was clearly a joke. And scientists are human: they make jokes.

Anti-science conservatives have no sense of humor and believe scientists are robots without souls. How else can they explain why these empty vessels reject their supernatural dogma about the son of God being executed for sins that the God caused in the first place? Obviously they don't care about their salvation.

To anyone who reads the article it was clearly a joke because he literally said that it was a joke. The OP didn't mention that part for some reason.

Also, the pic is obviously a cross section of something.
A pic of something spherical would look very different
around the edges compared to the rest. But features
at the edges weren't foreshortened.

What if it was real though? It could solve the problem of hunger on Earth for thousands of years.

If we could find some way to bring it here that is ...

This is an impressive twisting and contorting of the article to vent animus. Do you make pretzels too?

I didn’t mention it because I only clipped the lead of the article which didn’t mention it. How you would try to insinuate nefariousness out of that is yet another joke.

You're an alien...what can you do about it?

I'll check in with head office, I think we have a presence in that area...... just a minute .... OK. They say it's not chirizo at all, but a slice of Arcturan Gallumpit Pie, which is unfortunately toxic to humans. Worth a look though. The Arcturans are working out a way to retrieve it.

Oh, they also say they're getting complaints about the Webb telescope peeking into bedrooms while chlkkkiting is going on. That doesn't translate well into anything that happens on Earth, just trust me, you shouldn't be spying on it.
