The Seven Laws of Noah

Psalm23

I was reading about the seven laws of Noah today. Are there other instructions that relate to these laws? Where did the seven laws of Noah come from?

Internet searches can answer a lot of these questions, but not all.
I'm more knowledgeable in this topic than most, so I'll answer.

Where they came from in the modern form, is the Rabbis 'reversed engineered' them
from 'commandments' implied by the book of Genesis. For example, murder is forbidden
from the incident of Cain & Able. But these laws pre-date Abraham, tho of course no
exact records remain.

First off, it's not 'seven laws' but seven categories of laws, pertaining to those topics.
One source finds 30 specific commands from these seven categories.

Some are explicitly stated, such as the ban on eating blood in Genesis 9:3-5

"Only flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat."

This commandment is repeated in Leviticus 17:13-14 AND again in Acts 15:29

"For as for the life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its life. Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, ‘You are not to eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood; whoever eats it shall be cut off."

"You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals"

Yes, that's exactly what I said, "Internet searches can answer a lot of these questions" although I found no need to insult their intelligence in how to use google.
although I am sure that you are more knowledgable that its authors.
It's knowledgeable not 'knowledgable' and yes, I know the topic just as well as they do, it's not rocket science. By design, it's for everyone to understand. No need for 'rabbis' though I see in those same google searches so called 'rabbis' charging huge sums of money for 'classes'. How predictable. $600, what a scam.

Noahide Laws

EDIT: Did more searches. The number of 'rabbis' in this scam is astounding.

Courses – Noahide Academy

$225 each course.

Noahide Academy – Join the Jewish People!

Ya, you aren't joining anything, you're being scammed.
Just scroll down to the bottom of that page.
Look at all those 'rabbis' and their long beards.
So impressed. Yawn.

The Noahide movement needs to be divorced from these frauds,
and have genuine control and ownership. Not spoon fed for shekels.

(Moving forward, it will be interesting to see what agenda might underlie your silly anti-rabbi rant.)

None really, personally I'm done with all Abrahamic religions, not just the rabbis.
There never will be a Noahide DIR in this forum anyways, so no community.

In reality, they are considered to for the most part be common sense that most humans would come to conclude just from being human.

From Torath Mosheh sources, they are often called the 7 mizvoth. They are considered to be the mitzvoth that all humanity was responsible for. Of course, as with any set of laws, there are subcategories that can be derived from it especially when it relates to the mitzvah of nations creating laws and systems of justice.

While, there are Talmudic discussions on these matters it is not an invention of the "rabbis" as claimed. The existance of laws in all cultures and some common ideas found in many ancient soceities of how to manage societies is proof enough that the concept predated the rabbis of the Talmud and the written Torah itself.

In terms of the idea that Noachides are being "charged" money for courses to instruct them on what the Noachide laws are and how to personally manage them, as with any course the choice to charge or not charge it as teh descretion of the person/people giving the class. The same claim can be made about university courses or meeting with a pychologist. Both of which are not free, UNLESS, the university or the phychologist agrees that they are are donating their time, materials, and experience for free.

Given that no one is being forced to take such a course and given that there are some rabbis who teach w/o charge I think there are a variety to options that both involve or don't involve the Jewish community for someone to find out what to do in life.
