why would a person need to go to a physical hell somewhere else; if they were already being demonized, bullied, antagonized, terrorized, oppressed on earth?
Because damning others is easy. Understanding them not only takes effort, it is damning itself to those who would gain from sowing discord and division.why would a person need to go to a physical hell somewhere else; if they were already being demonized, bullied, antagonized, terrorized, oppressed on earth?
Sometimes I think people become tangled up in asking the wrong questions (yes, there is such a thing). Rather, why not ask, "Why even believe in the mythological concept of hell?"
I feel the afterlife can be, at times, a dual-punishment, if true and it happens the way some people think.
hell is a state of mind. the concept isn't as far fetched as you would believe. it can be as near the person next to you, who feels the need to control others but has no control over themselves.Sometimes I think people become tangled up in asking the wrong questions (yes, there is such a thing). True hell is fully understanding another tormented soul, but being able to do little to help them. True hell is catching a virus, recovering from it, then being hit with a second, different kind due to a weakened immune system.
but that is what hell is.I don't think we should confound the matter of mental and physical anguish with a mythological concept. To truly stand firmly in reality, one must separate one's self from the fantasy.

That escapes me as I need to study more just how much the Christian doctrine of hell is influenced by works like Dante's.
I'm already skeptical about any idea of it just based on the tactics used by some preachers who strongly promote the idea.

It is what you get when the republic tolerates non and antiChristians. As official spokesman for the Consttutional convention, John Adam's clearly stated, "THIS CONSTITUTION ONLY WORKS FOR A MORAL AND CHRISTIAN PEOPLE". What we have in 2022 is evident from what the courts have imposed upon us, no one invited the founders.

hell isn't exclusive to christianity. buddhism and other religions speak on it too.The doctrine of Hell is actually more influenced by the Book of Enoch, which the New Testament quotes, and the Apocalypse of Peter, which was Dante's main inspiration and regarded as an authoritative text by many early Christians.

Experiencing childhood trauma makes body and brain age faster: Findings could help explain why children who suffer trauma often face poor health later in life.
