Anti-choicers: this is the fruit of your labour

A ten-year-old pregnant girl - so by definition, a victim of rape and someone whose pregnancy is a threat to her life - has been denied an abortion under Ohio's abortion rules, newly-enabled by the overturning of Roe v. Wade:

Anti-choicers: this is the completely foreseeable result of what you've fought for for decades, so if you tell me again that you support abortion in the case of rape or to save the life of the pregnant person, I hope you'll understand when I call you liars and hypocrites.

In your rhetoric, you acknowledge that this sort of action on the part of the state shouldn't happen, so you know that it's wrong... but you enable it anyway. The anti-choice movenent is wilfully evil, even by its own warped standards. Reflect on that, then do something to fix the mess you've created.

Because there are states whose legislation is too intransigent.
I know because we have one: Malta, that does not even conceive the abortion in cases of risky pregnancy.
Unless the woman's life is in real danger.
US woman denied termination in Malta speaks out - BBC News
For instance, Maltese women have always come to Italy to have an abortion, since their government (fortunately) does not criminalize the abortion performed in other countries.
Whereas we know that there are US states that do criminalize it.

But there are also US states which do allow exceptions: such as rape survivors and therapeutic abortions.

And that's just the one that got reported on...

They really need to drop the "pro-life" identity.

To anti-abortion rights types...
I don't think you're evil.
But I vigorously disagree about a few things.

It didn't take long, i wonder how much pain and anquish this stupid decision is going to cause over the coming weeks, months and years.

I don't think many anto-choicers are too bothered about the conciquences of their long battle to ride roughshod over the female.

Well get back to the grindstone and continue on with the mission as the soldiers say.

I know what you mean, but I doubt they will. It will be the job of the opposition to emphasize the hypocrisy, which will have the benefit of revealing what this religion is - how devoid of the love it professes to have it is. We can expect to see a lot more like the following now:

Hopefully, girls like this will find a safe abortion somewhere. Fortunately, these cases will make the news over and again, and reveal this Republican-Christian coalition for what it is and the harm it does people, which is the message of anti-theism: the world is better off when religion isn't running it, and that organized, politicized religions are a threat to freedom and even life.

I don't think many anti-choicers are too bothered about the consequences of their long battle to ride roughshod over the female.

Agreed. None as best I can tell. How many have you seen express any empathy for the mother forced to carry an unwanted child? About the same as the number of antivaxxers who expressed any empathy for those around them, or the number of gun people who have expressed that they see a problem or feel for the victims of gun violence. Why? Because they don't.

All of these kinds of Americans have the same implicit message: I don't care what you want. I don't care what frightens you. I don't care what harms you.

We are speaking of a minor, here.
The word choice does not even apply to this case, since such choices can only be taken by who has parental authority.

Oh, that makes it all right then.

It does not matter, the anti choices have taken the choice away whether it be parental or not

Sadly, there are too extremist sides.
There is no middle ground possible.
I'm an extremist, ie, not merely "pro-choice".
I'm pro abortion.
I see extremism as no worse than being middle of the road.
It's all a matter of how one conducts oneself.

Yeah. I thought it was a done deal. Don't fix what wasn't broken, but you know how politics work.
Trump failed in his own coup Jan 6.
But prior to that, he succeeded in his takeover of SCOTUS.
One might say the Pope staged that coup.
But which is puppet & which is pawn....Trump or Pope?

And the devastation left in their wake doesn't matter, they got their religious way imposed on a nation, it's just tough for those it impacts eh?

Abortion with no limitations?
Even at the 30th week of pregnancy?

I really wonder if this case made anyone switch their position that overruling Roe v. Wade was a good decision. There are anti-choicers who stated they wouldn't like to see such things. Now they do.
If you are one of them, do you admit you were wrong?

Someone, and no doubt they will face the legal consequences in time. But other things are more important.
They will not reveal any detail about this very extraordinarily weird story.
To begin with, a child who has her first period at 10 is objectively rare.
So...this makes me think that she used to be raped even before she hit puberty.
