Love?

In my understanding, love is disgusting.

Why people always mention love? Why this unhealthy fixation? Humans are corrupted because of this unhealthy feeling.

Whatever the question, love is always the answer.

Many people associate the word love exclusively with romance; this misconception is responsible for much confusion. Love is not selfish, it makes no demands, asks for nothing in return. If it is conditional, it isn't love.

Love, like any other feeling, is a remnant of our evolution from less intellectual animals. Without love we wouldn't be here. If we want to become a more rational species one day, we need to learn how to control our emotions (or get rid of them). But from all the emotions love is the one that is least destructive. When we have managed fear and hate, we can try to think about how not to behave stupid in the presence of a significant other.

“Love is a trick nature plays on us to get us to reproduce.”

Said Callisto. I agree… mostly.

Except… we can also love family and friends. This is understandable. To achieve our dreams, we require allies. Additionally… it’s just nice to have people there, who respect us, love us, admire us. It feels good to be loyal to something. Someone. Some people earn our loyalty. Our respect. Our love.

That reminds me of those I love I have no agreement with morally, and worldview wise.

That's one of the best explanations I can think of.
The creative process is not magic. It is very gradual, and evolution revolves around it.

Because you are l limiting your definition of "love" to an emotion. In my experience, love is much more than that.

Dear @syo,

To understand what you mean by it being “disgusting”, it would help to know your definition of ”love”, I believe.

Love is a powerful force; so powerful it can transform an individual and grow connections between people where there once wasn't one. Love is the divine spark.

English is terrible when it comes to types and circumstances of love. Other languages make useful distinctions such as Greek and Arabic.
