Imagine

Sgt. Pepper

All you need is love.

Imagine, by John Lennon.

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No Hell below us
Above us only sky

Imagine all the people
Livin' for today
Aaa haa

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too

Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
Yoo hoo

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people
Sharin' all the world
Yoo hoo

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

"Be strong", I whispered to my coffee.

I wasn't keen on the Beatles, though they did some good stuff. But John Lennon was a complete and utter genius and saying that, Imagine was pure brilliance. From hearing it in my cot as a babe to now it's still one of my favourite songs. Thanks for the thread

I've listened intently to Imagine, Give Peace A Chance, Let It Be, and many other Beatles songs in the last few days because of all the turmoil going on in America right now. I've always turned to The Beatles for comfort in difficult times. Their music comforts me.

Imagine is one of the reasons I love the Fab Four after the Beatles. Such a wonderful song of unity, peace, and setting aside the things that divide and cause strife.

Off topic, but maybe you can answer this one for me.
Why is Yoko just sitting their knitting in the Instant Karma video while everybody else has a little boogie going on?

I don't know. All I will say is that Yoko is an interesting person.
As I hardly know anything else about her, I've always seen her as an odd one. Based on just that, appearing entirely uninterested in the video she has a part in. How was she able to not sing and sway along with the crowd?
