Gratitude Journal

I want to start a practice of a daily gratitude journal. Just want to say a few things each day that I'm grateful for. Some may be simple, some may be complex. Whatever comes to me. But it is helpful to train our minds to focus on positive things around us instead of constantly focusing on the negative as we often do. So I want to start doing that.

Feel free to join me if you wish. Please refrain from trolling or sarcasm or inflammatory content.

Today, I'm thankful for my comfortable bed.

I'm thankful for air conditioning keeping me cool.

And I'm thankful for those who love and support me.

I'm thankful for summer nights; there just seems to be some unspoken magic, or quiet beauty at this time that is heightened... I love it. :)

I'm grateful for you. :) Every time I've spoken to you, you've always been a level, calm, collected individual even when things were tough. And I'm sure they felt less calm inside but your poise and demeanor have been an inspiration, and i value your insight and earnest care for people.

I wrote a review on a webshop, just before reading this

I mentioned all good thinks, and concluded with "how nice that I can only mention positive things". They really were nice and helpful, even changed a few important errors on their website I mentioned.

So, I gave them the maximum 5 stars:highbrightness::highbrightness::highbrightness::highbrightness::highbrightness:

I'm grateful for having awesome animals in my house. All four of them are either cuddling with me now or close by. I'm never alone and never without their entertainment. It's heaven, really.

I'm also grateful that we have levelheaded and decent moderation.

Better slip in boot licking any opportunity I have.

I am grateful for the people in my life who push me gentely so I push my self to realize my shortcomings in life. So I can become a better person toward myself and others.

Skipped a day but back at it.

Today I'm thankful for the delicious pasta dinner I had tonight.

I'm thankful for the job interview I had today.

I'm thankful for the cool summer air flowing into my room.

I am extremely thankful for our new shower that was fitted yesterday, 29 june

On 3rd of March a glass panel shattered in the old shower.

Then the escapade began.

Contacted insurance company
A week later they asked for a quote.
Our plumber provided a quote for a new shower and fitting.
Ten days later we received a letter saying "no,no,no, a quote to replace the glass only."
Got a glazier in to quote to replace the glass panel.
"Non,non,non, cannot be done.
Contacted insurance company
A week later they got back to us to say they would send an assessor.
A week later the assessor phoned to make an appointment... In a weeks time
He came and said, you need a new shower.
Three days later we received the ok from the insurance company accepting the original quote.
Two month gone before we ordered a new shower.

Shipped from Paris, should have arrived within 3 days. A week later the carrier called to say we needed to call the carrier to make an appointment for delivery.

Done, no carrier arrived. After several attempts to call the carrier they admitted the shower was missing. They would locate it and get is to us as soon as possible.
Found and promised for delivery the following day, 13th May.
No show, at 5pm the carrier called to say the box containing the glass parts was making a shattered glass sound and they were returning it to the manufacturer.
Waited 2 weeks for acceptance of the damage and a refund.

We ordered a new shower locally, not really what we wanted but it's getting desperate.

The shower arrived at the end of May wahoooo. Called the plumber to come and fit it.
Non,non, non, he had broken his thumb and on doctors orders could not work until the end of june.

Yesterday he fitted the shower but said we could not use it until today while the adhesive sets.

Luckily we have other showers ensuite in the kids rooms so we are not stinky but i am so looking forward to our own, new shower later today.

I'm grateful for having got through to the next stage of my teaching assistant job application. It's an assessment day, not just an interview so Monday's going to be a pretty full-on day. Please pray for me, light a candle, burn incense, sacrifice a cake or whatever it is you do when you're not on RF.
Gratefully yours,
sc

I am grateful you started this thread. It is a very good idea actually, and gratitude for the good things in life is said to attract more good things.

I have a gratitude journal myself but I keep forgetting to fill it each day. So thanks for the reminder.
