Real or fake Christianity?

Considering the “hell” that the US is being thrust into, what could be the cause?

Religion? A political party? The marriage of a certain religion with a certain political party?

Here’s something I came across today.
"In the Christian world, it is doctrine that differentiates churches ... These differences grow out of doctrine alone, which would never happen if we considered love for the Lord and charity for our neighbor the chief concern of faith. If we did, those distinctions would simply be differences of opinion on the mysteries of faith. True Christians would leave such issues up to the individual and the individual's conscience. In their hearts they would say, "A person who lives as a Christian — who lives as the Lord teaches — is a real Christian." One church would come out of all the different churches, and all disagreement due to doctrine alone would vanish. Even the hatred of one denomination for another would melt away in a moment”

It is sad there are so very few “real Christians” to be found in the world.

Why don’t “christians” believe Jesus when he says :

Matthew 22:37-39

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

What causes “christians” to feel they must CONTROL other people? To the extreme extent that they believe electing evil people to political power to achieve their end goals.

Why do these fake christians think they know better, how others should live their own personal private lives?

Why do the fake christians insist on minding other people’s business? (Think Matthew 7:5)

Just wondering. Any ideas?

The Church is very adept at making people feel powerless.

When one feels they have no power in one area of their life. They tend to seek ways to exert power over others in other areas.

you can't profit from what you can't control. so it is a service to self type action; where in the guest pretends to be the host by playing word and mind games.

What " hell" is that exactly?
believers giving non-believers hell because they don't approve of their choices

the road to hell is paved with pretty intentions, good beliefs. test the spirits, question the spirits.

beliefs without reality, without works, without question aren't life realized. people learn from experience and doing and applying that to other life events.

can i get a reality check, please?

The religious right feels superior and act as if they are more moral than anyone else. (They're not.) They are "doing us a favor" by voting and acting the way they do. I remember I felt that way too. So judgmental, bigoted and out of touch with reality. I did rethink things after 22 years of Christianity and tried to be a Jesus Christian instead of a Christianity Christian. I was that way for 6 years until I finally got fed up and left the religion altogether. I do respect the Christian Left and centrists. At least they are trying to follow Jesus' teachings.

Us lowly Polytheists could use a new friend of the path. ;). You're welcome to walk with us. (Things are better in a group anyways).

So your idea is just to say " everything is great?" And pretend nothing is wrong with evil actions?
No... that was your idea. Let me show you:
I love it here. I've been here for over fifty years. I don't see any hell on earth in America.
That can roughly be translated to "everything is great".

And you can look no further than some of the deeds done within and outside the Capitol on Jan. 6th for "evil actions". Unless you like to pretend that "nothing is wrong" with those particular evil actions?

"I love it here" doesn't mean it's a perfect world.
I see more good than bad in America. But I don't go into the big city much either.

I guess I wouldn't follow this train of thought. Maybe this is a good time to follow Jesus when he said

:
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? ...

Maybe there are more true Christians that what you believe?
