May her followers embody that sentiment.
I'm learning about many goddesses (and gods) who embody that sentiment. It's a refreshing change to what I'm used to, speaking as an ex-Christian. But I'm not ready to fully embrace a new god and become emotionally attached to one. Old wounds aren't healed yet.

No need to be attached to any god (or so the Buddha would say ). I can understand the pain of being burned by organized, fundamentalist religion and that turning you off to any and all religion or spirituality. Take it at your own pace. Always around to chat with you if you ever want it.

Billions do it all the time. Could just be human confirmation bias. Personally, I don't believe any deities have authentic genders. It's just how many people choose to relate to them.(one would thing that reveling in a gendered deity would be more than a little shallow)
