A "historic victory for white life"

That's not the reality people made for themselves today isn't it?
The reality people make for themselves today is pooled across a great many cultures, peoples and cultures. Anglo-Saxon politics lead the repression of the native British Celts, forced them into a "United" Kingdom, and then did it to the rest of the world with what we call the British Empire.

One could do that.
But if one has any hope of being a positive influence
upon one's MAGA friends, calling them "racist" will
end that relationship status, thereby eliminating any
opportunity one has to moderate their views, & extricate
them from their nasty echo chamber.

I know many MAGAs. Few are racists (more so than
most people are). I pursue friendly discussion of issues.
It helps a little.

I do typically agree. That doesn't mean one shouldn't stop calling a duck a duck just because friends call it a goose.

There's plenty of evidence that the MAGA movement is driven by racism, from Trump's Birtherism attacks on Obama to his ads vowing to protect suburbs from low income housing.

From the Chicago Tribune ...

MENDON, Ill. — When freshman U.S. Rep. Mary Miller took to a county fair stage Saturday night to thank former President Donald Trump for appointing conservative justices who led the U.S. Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade, she called it a “historic victory for white life.”

Miller, who has Trump’s endorsement in challenging five-term Republican U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis in Tuesday’s primary, did not elaborate on the “white life” comment she made on stage. Later, a campaign aide said she meant to say “right to life,” but misspoke.

And later in the article ...

Just days after taking office in January 2021, Miller was facing calls for her resignation after she cited Adolf Hitler in a speech to a conservative women’s group in referring to the political indoctrination of young people.

“Each generation has the responsibility to teach and train the next generation. You know, if we win a few elections, we’re still going to be losing unless we win the hearts and minds of our children. This is the battle. Hitler was right on one thing. He said, whoever has the youth has the future,” she said.

When MAGA shows you what it is, believe it.
Well you caught her. Dead to rights this time. No getting of it.

She did something horrible. She misspoke.

It will be a great day for ALL when children can sit in school and not have to worry about being shot by some low life with a gun. If the unborn have a right to live, why don't the born also have a right to live?

I'm reminded of people I know who call liberals
"satanic", "marxist", etc. Some of them are.
But I also urge them caution about such generalization.
Nice it would be if RF weren't divided up into neat
groups of either "baby killer" or "racist misogynist".
I think most are neither.

To generalize from an individual doesn't rise to the level of evidence.
We know there are white supremacists. But to characterize all
MAGAs as such is far less than cromulent.
I know that every new movement attracts extremists who are trying to take over. The German Green party had to deal with neo-nazis in their midst which absolutely didn't characterize them.
But MAGA is not a new movement. It doesn't attract extremists, they were always there and only now dare to show their true colours. And the evidence lies not only in the number of extremists who confess their racism openly, it also lies in the (lack of) reaction of the "silent" majority.

Because born people cost money. Their taxes might have to go up or something.

I guess I have to inform people that not every white person supports this maga garbage. o_O

I wonder how many white Americans support this garbage that I have to say that. I'm even male white.

Maybe white Americans should speak up and vocally reject this nonsense about white life..

I'll continue to treat MAGAs as individuals.
I do this even for Antifa fans.

So let me ask you this: if she said something was a victory for Black life or Hispanic lives or brown lives, would that be the same thing? Would that concern you?

There's at least two examples on this thread now. The OP and then Marjorie Greene's promoting Anglo-Saxon values and politics.

Exactly. You can say, “This is a victory for black lives”, or asian, or latino, but the moment you include the word “white”, the radicals on the left label you racist/ xenophobic/ bigoted/ etc.

I can say “I am proud to be latino”, and I am met with cheers and applause, and at worst, indifference. I can say “I am proud to be white” and the exact same people begin foaming at the mouth and going into convulsions.

The pendulum has swung far to the left… but it is on its way back to sanity. They had their chance, and look what they did with it. People have had enough of the hypocrisy and the double standards.

But you can say, "I am proud to be Scottish/German/Norwegian, etc." The reason is the history behind what is means to be White or Black in America. Since Black Americans were forced to come to this land in shackles and suffered through horrible mistreatment, being a "Black" American and proud of that is a way of reclaiming their history. Whereas, being proud of being "White" in America comes with the history of the label being used as the oppressors of the "Black" Americans.

But given that many Europeans did immigrate and weren't necessarily attached to that history, being proud of a culture that is separate from that oppression is fine.
