Couldn't resist, sorry.
That video is a red herring fallacy.Couldn't resist, sorry.
It is also, though you seem not to have noticed, quite funny and very apt. That video is a red herring fallacy.
Couldn't resist being logical, sorry...
A red herring is a logical fallacy in which irrelevant information is presented alongside relevant information, distracting attention from that relevant information. This may be done intentionally or unintentionally. A red herring is often used in movies, television and literature.

It's not a red herring. It's pointing out hypocrisy. It's drawing attention to those who have the nerve to dare call themselves "pro life" and harp on about how life is precious but then frequently do an about face by promoting wars, the death penalty, cutting welfare, cutting education, slashing at programs that reduce harm and condemn those who don't conform to their standards. That video is a red herring fallacy.

I did notice that. If used for that purpose, fine, but if used to deflect, it is a red herring. It is also, though you seem not to have noticed, quite funny and very apt.
It can be both. It's not a red herring. It's pointing out hypocrisy.
Wait a minute Jesus never mention that either. so it MUST be ok???? Boy, that sure shot a hole in the video.Life is precious. Unless you want to drive your truck into a bunch of godless protesters.

You can say that again.not an attempt to seriously understand it.
That isn't the issue it was addressing. It can be both.
If used to deflect from the relevant issue of when life begins it is a red herring.
I've hit a point where I'm not interested. It denies autonomy to the woman; it claims ownership of her life, her uterus, and whatever grows within; it denies her the right to chose her own path for herself and lets someone else make that choice for her.For anyone interested in an argument from an actual pro-life advocate.
That was my point. That isn't the issue it was addressing.
II don't think you know how to use that fallacy. Can you be specific as to what is a red herring and why? That video is a red herring fallacy.

A red herring is something that misleads or distracts from a relevant or important issue.[1] It may be either a logical fallacy or a literary device that leads readers or audiences towards a false conclusion. A red herring might be intentionally used, such as in mystery fiction or as part of rhetorical strategies (e.g. in politics), or it could be inadvertently used during argumentation. No, not quite. The phrase "life is precious" was used facetiously. It is what the Republicans claim but what their actions refute. All of those examples were policies that Republicans tend to support and show that for them life really is not precious. So no red herrings, only satire.A red herring is something that misleads or distracts from a relevant or important issue.[1] It may be either a logical fallacy or a literary device that leads readers or audiences towards a false conclusion. The relevant or important issue is whether life is precious, which is the underpinning argument for the pro-life argument, and all that other mumbo-jumbo on that video is a red herring because it distracts from the relevant or important issue.
