Dreaming is used, hence a tool, by Masters to convey their message. Such dreams are real, as if one is awake. The Master decides to enter in your dream, not the dreamer

I don't know if they fall under lucid dream

But if dreams are used as a tool, then I guess lucid dreams can be used as a tool too
