Bahais often quote some hadiths in my view way out of place, context, and give it their own meaning.

They can continue to do that (We are free to do what we want), and even can do it here in this thread, as it's for debate. But like Quran and day of judgment, I will be providing a holistic contextualize each other approach to who the Mahdi is per Shiite hadiths as well I Will comment sometimes on Quran to support this.

One of the first issues, I want to post is the position of Ahlulbayt (a) according to sacred prayer of Imam Sajjad (a) as the final Ahlulbayt (a):

اَللّٰهُمَّ يَامَن
O Allah, O He who

خَصَّ مُحَمَّدًا وَآلَهٗ بِالْكَرَامَةِ
singled out Muhammad and his Household for honour,

وَ حَبَاهُمْ بِالرِّسَالَةِ
showed favour toward them with messengerhood,

وَ خَصَّصْهُمْ بِالْوَسِيْلَةِ
specified them for the mediation,[347] so

وَ جَعَلَهُمْ وَرَثَةَ الْاَنْبِيَآءِ
appointed them the heirs to the prophets,

وَ خَتَمَ بِهِمُ الْاَوْصِيَآءَ وَ الْاَئِمَّةَ
sealed with them the executors and the Imams,

وَ عَلَّمَهُمْ عِلْمَ مَا كَانَ وَ عِلْمَ مَا بَقِيَ
taught them the knowledge of what has been and what remains to be,

وَ جَعَلَ أَفْئِدَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي اِلَيْهِمْ
and made the hearts of the people incline toward them!

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ
Bless Muhammad and his Household, the pure,

وَ افْعَلْ بِنَا مَا اَنْتَ أَهْلُهٗ فِي الدِّيْنِ وَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ
and act toward us with that of which Thou art worthy in religion, in this world, and in the next world!

اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.
Thou art powerful over everything.[348]

ناوِلِيني لأَنْظُرَ فِيها قالَتْ: يا جابِر لَوْ لا النَّهْيُ لَكُنْتُ أَفْعَلُ، لكِنَّهُ قَدْ نُهِيَ أَنْ يَمُسَّها إِلاّ نَبِيٌّ أَوْ وَصِيُّ نَبِيٍّ أَوْ أَهْلُ بَيْتِ نَبِيٍّ، وَلكِنَّهُ مَأْذُونٌ لَكَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ إِلى باطِنِها مِنْ ظاهِرِها قالَ جابِرٌ: فَإِذا أَبُو القاسِمِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُصْطَفى‏ اُمُّهُ آمِنَةُ، أَبُو الحَسَن عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبي طالِبٍ المُرْتَضى‏ اُمُّهُ فاطِمَةُ بِنْتِ أَسَدِ بْنِ هاشِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنافٍ، أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الحَسَن بْنِ عَلِىٍّ البَرِّ، أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ التَّقِيُّ اُمُّهُما فاطِمَةُ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَلِىُّ بْنِ الحُسَيْنِ العَدْلُ، اُمُّهُ شَهْرْبانُويَه بِنْتُ يَزْدْجِرْدَ، أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الباقِرُ اُمُّهُ اُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِنْتِ الحَسَن بْنِ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبي طالِب‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَعْفَرُ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّادِقُ وَاُمُّهُ اُمُّ فَرْوَةَ بِنْتِ القاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبي بَكْرٍ، أَبُو إِبْراهيمَ مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ اُمُّهُ جارِيَةٌ اِسْمُها حَمِيدَةُ المُصَفَّاةُ، أَبُو الحَسَن عَلِىُّ بْنِ مُوسَى الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ اُمُّهُ جارِيَةٌ اِسْمُها نَجْمَةُ، أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنِ عَلِيِّ الزَّكِيُّ اُمُّهُ جارِيَةُ اِسْمُها خيزَرانُ، أَبُو الحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَمِين، اُمُّهُ جارِيَةٌ اسْمُها سُوسَنُ، أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الحَسَنُ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الرَّفِيقُ، اُمُّهُ جارِيَةٌ اِسْمُها سَمانَةُ وَتُكَنّي اُمُّ الحَسَنِ، أَبُو القاسِمِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنِ الحَسَنِ هُوَحُجَّةُ اللَّهِ القائِمُ، اُمُّهُ جارِيَةٌ اسْمُها نَرْجِسُ - صَلَواتُ اللَّه عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ.

قالَ مُصَنِّفُ هذا الْكِتابِ: جاءَ هذا الْحَدِيث هكَذا بِتَسْمِيَةِ القائِمِ‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، وَالَّذِي أَذْهَبُ إِلَيْهِ النَّهْيُ عَنْ تَسْمِيَتِهِ‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ.

2 - حَدَّثَنا أَبي؛ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنِ الحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الوَلِيد قالا: حَدَّثَنا سَعْدُ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ؛ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الحِمْيَريُّ جَمِيعاً، عَنْ أَبي الخَيْرِ صالِح بْنِ أَبي حَمَّادٍ؛ وَالحَسَن بْنِ ظَرِيفٍ جَمِيعاً، عَنْ بَكْرِ بن صالِحٍ، وَحَدَّثَنا أَبي وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ المُتَوَكِّلِ؛ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنِ عَلِيِّ ماجِيلوَيْه، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْراهيمِ بْنِ هـاشِمٍ، وَالحُسَيْنُ بْنِ إِبْــراهيمِ بْنِ ناتانَةَ؛

Ibrahim ibn Hashem, Al-Husayn ibn Ibrahim ibn Tatana and Ahmad ibn Ziyad ibn Ja’far al-Hamadani - may God be pleased with them - narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashem quoted on the authority of his father, on the authority of Bakr ibn Salih, on the authority of Abdul Rahman ibn Salim, on the authority of Abi Basir, on the authority of Abi Abdullah (as-Sadiq) (a.s.), “My father (a.s.) told Jabir ibn Abdullah Al-Ansari, ‘I have something to do with you in private. When is the most convenient time for you to come so that I may ask you something?’ Jabir replied to him (a.s.), ‘Whenever you please.’ Then my father (a.s.) met him in private and told him, ‘O Jabir! Tell me about the tablet which you saw in the hands of my mother (the Blessed Lady) Fatima - the daughter of God’s Prophet (S), and what my mother told you about what is recorded in it in writing.’ Jabir said, ‘I take God as a witness that I went to see your mother (the Blessed Lady) Fatima during the lifetime of God’s Prophet (S) to congratulate her upon the birth of Al-Husayn (a.s.). Then I saw a green tablet in her hand which I thought to be emeralds. In it there were white writings which were as brilliant as sunshine. I told her, ‘O daughter of God’s Prophet (S)! May my mother and father be your ransom! What is this tablet?’ She (a.s.) replied, ‘This is a tablet which God the Exalted the Sublime has bestowed upon His Messenger (a.s.). In it there are the names of my father, my husband, my two sons, and the names of the Trustees from my progeny. My father (a.s.) gave it to me to make me happy.’ Jabir added, ‘Then your mother (the Blessed Lady) Fatima gave it to me. I read it and wrote down a copy of it.’”

Then Imam As-Sadiq (a.s.) added, “My father (a.s.) asked, ‘O Jabir! Can you show it to me?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ Then my father accompanied him to Jabir’s house where Jabir brought a sheet made of skin for my father and said, ‘I take God as a witness that this is what I saw written on that tablet, ‘In the Name of God the Beneficent, the Merciful. This is a writing from God the Honored the Wise to Muhammad - His Light, His Messenger and His Veil, and His Reason which has been descended upon him by the Trustworthy Spirit from the Lord of the Two Worlds. O Muhammad! Exalt My Names. Be grateful for My Blessings. Do not deny. Indeed I am God. There are no gods other than Me. I am the Defeater of the Tyrants, the Humiliator of the Oppressors! The Owner of the Religion. Indeed I am God. There are no gods other than Me. I will punish whoever places hopes in others but Me or fears things other than

وَأَحْمَدَ بْنِ زِيادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الهَمَذانيُّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ - قالُوا: حَدَّثَنا عَلِىُّ بْنِ إِبراهِيمِ بْنِ هاشِمٍ، عَنْ أَبيهِ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ صالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمنِ بْنِ سالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبي‏بَصِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبي عَبْدِ اللَّه‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، قالَ: قالَ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ لِجابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصارِيِّ: إِنَّ لي‏ إِلَيكَ حاجَةً فَمَتى‏ يَخِفُّ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَخْلُو بِكَ فَأَسْأَلَكَ عَنْها؟ قالَ لَهُ جابِرٌ: فِي أيُّ الأَوْقاتِ شِئْتَ فَخَلا بِهِ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ فَقالَ: يا جابِرُ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ اللَّوْحِ الَّذِي رَأَيْتَهُ فِي يَدِ اُمِّي فاطِمَة بِنْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَما أَخْبَرَتْكَ بِهِ اُمِّي أَنَّ فِي ذلِكَ اللَّوْحِ مَكْتُوباً؟ قالَ جابِرٌ: أَشْهَدُ بِاللَّهِ إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ عَلَى اُمّكَ فاطِمَة فِي حَياةِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ لِاُهَنِّئَها بِوِلادَةِ الحُسَيْنِ‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، فَرَأَيْتُ فِي يَدِها لَوْحاً أَخْضَرَ ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ زُمُرُّدٌ، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهِ كِتاباً أَبْيَضَ شِبْهَ نُورُ الشَّمْسِ، فَقُلْتُ لَها بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَاُمِّي يا بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ ما هذا اللَّوْحُ؟ فَقالَتْ: هذا اللَّوْحُ أَهْداهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلى رَسُولِهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ فِيهِ اِسْمُ أَبي وَاِسْمُ بَعْلِي وَاِسْمُ ابْنِيَّ، وَأَسْماءُ الأَوْصِياءِ مِنْ وُلْدِي، فَأَعْطانِيهِ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ لِيَسُرَّني بِذلِكَ، قالَ جابِرٌ: فَأَعْطَنِيهِ اُمُّكَ فاطِمَةُ، فَقَرَأْتُهُ و انْتَسَخْتُهُ، فَقالَ: أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: فَهَلْ لَكَ يا جابِرُ أَنْ تَعْرِضَهُ عَلِيَّ؟ قالَ: نَعَمْ، فَمَشى‏ مَعَهُ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ حَتّى‏ انتَهى‏ إِلى مَنْزِلِ جابِر، فَأَخْرَجَ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ صَحِيفَةٌ مِنْ رَقٍّ قالَ جابِرٌ: فَأُشْهِدُ بِاللَّهِ إِنِّي هكَذا رَأَيْتُهُ فِي اللَّوْحِ مَكْتُوباً: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ هذا كِتابٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ العَزِيزِ الحَكِيمِ لُِمحَمَّدٍ نُورِهِ وَسَفِيرِهِ وَحِجابِهِ وَدَلِيلِهِ نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الأَمِينُ مِنْ عِنْدَ رَبِّ العالَمِينِ، عَظِّمْ يا مُحَمَّدُ أَسْمائِي، وَاشْكُرْ نَعْمائِي وَتَجْحَدْ آلائي، إِنّي أَنَّا اللَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلاّ أَنَا، قاصِم الجَبَّارِينَ، وَمُذِلُّ الظَّالِمِينَ، وَدَيَّانَ الدِّينِ، إِنّي أَنَا اللَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلاّ أَنَا، فَمَنْ رَجا غَيْرِ فَضْلِي، أَوْ خــافَ غَيْـرَ عَـذابِي عَـذَّبْتُهُ عَذابـاً لا أَعَـذَّبُ بِهِ أَحَـداً مِـنَ

My Chastisement in such a way that no one in the Two Worlds has been punished. Thus worship Me alone, and rely only on Me. Whenever I appoint a Prophet and his time ends I appoint a Trustee for him. I have made you superior over the other Prophets, and have made your Trustee (The first Divine Leader) superior over the other Prophet’s Trustees. I have honored you with two lion cubs after him - your two grandsons Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn. I have established Al-Hassan (The second Divine Leader) as the Treasure-Mine of My Knowledge after the expiration of the term of his father. I have established Al-Husayn (The second Divine Leader) as the storehouse of My Revelations. I have honored him with the Martyrdom, and have perfected Prosperity for him. He is the noblest of the martyrs. He holds the highest rank of the martyrs near Me. And I have entrusted him with My Perfect Word, and I have left the Complete Proof near him. I give rewards and chastisements by his kinship - the first of whom is Ali (The fourth Divine Leader)- the Master of the Worshippers and the adornment of the previous Trustees. His son (Muhammad) - the praised one - is like his grandfather. He is Muhammad Al-Baqir - the analyzer of My Knowledge and the Treasure House of My Wisdom. Those who doubt Ja’far will be destroyed. Whoever rejects him has indeed rejected Me. I say the right thing. I highly honor Ja’far (The sixth Divine Leader). I will make him happy regarding his followers, companions and friends. I have appointed Musa (The seventh Divine Leader) after him. After him there will be a short period of dark sedition, although there will not be a breach of Divine Leadership. My Proof will not remain hidden and the Trustees will not suffer. Beware that whoever denies any of them has indeed denied Me. Whoever changes any of the verses of My Book has indeed ascribed lies to Me. Woe be to those who ascribe lies and those who deny! Whoever denies the eighth (Divine Leader Al-Ridha’) after the duration of the Leadership of Musa - My Servant, Friend and Appointed One - is over, has indeed denied all My Trustees. Ali is My Trustee and Helper. He is the one on whose shoulders I will place the burden of Prophethood and grant him power. A haughty wicked fellow (al-Ma’mun) will murder him and bury him in a town that is established by a good servant next to My worst creature. I say the right thing. I will make him happy by his successor after him Muhammad (The ninth Divine Leader) - his son. He is the inheritor of My Knowledge and the Treasure-house of My Wisdom. He is the site of My Secrets and My Proof for My creatures. I

العالَمِينَ، فَإِيّايَ فَاعْبُدْ وَعَلِيِّ فَتَوَكَّلْ، إِنّي لَمْ أَبْعَثْ نَبِيّاً فَأَكْمَلْتُ أَيَّاماً وَاَنْقَضَتْ مُدَّتُهُ، إِلاّ جَعَلْتُ لَهُ وَصِيّاً وَإِنّي فَضَّلْتُكَ عَلَى الأَنْبِياءِ، وَفَضَّلْتُكَ وَصِيِّكَ عَلَى الأَوْصِياءِ، وَأَكْرَمْتُكَ بِشِبْلَيْكَ بَعْدَهُ، وَبِسِبْطَيْكَ الحَسَنِ وَالحُسَيْنِ، فَجَعَلْتُ حَسَناً مَعْدِنَ عِلْمِي بَعْد انْقِضاءَ مُدَّةِ أَبِيهِ، وَجَعَلْتُ حُسَيْناً خازِنَ وَحْيِي، وَأَكْرَمْتُهُ بِالشَّهادَةِ وَخَتَمْتُ لَهُ بِالسَّعادَةِ، فَهُوَأَفْضَلُ مَنِ اسْتَشْهِدَ، وَأَرْفَعُ الشُّهَداءِ دَرَجَة عِنْدِي، وَجَعَلْتُ كَلِمَتِيَ التَّامَّةَ مَعَهُ وَالحُجَّةَ البالِغَةَ عِنْدَهُ، بِعِتْرَتِهِ اُثِيبُ وَأَعاقِبَ، أَوَّلُهُمْ عَلِيٌّ سَيِّدُ العابِدِينَ، وَزَيْنُ أَوْلِيائِي الماضِينَ، وَابْنِهِ شَبِيهُ جَدِّهِ الَمحْمُودِ، مُحَمَّد الْباقِرُ لِعِلْمِي وَالمَعْدِنُ لِحُكْمِي، سَيَهْلِكَ المُرْتابُون فِي جَعْفَرٍ، الرَّادُّ عَلَيْهِ كَالرَّادِ عَلِيَّ، حَقٌّ القَوْلُ مِنِّي، لَأَكْرِمَنَّ مَثْوى‏ جَعْفَرٍ، وَلا سُرَّنَّهُ فِي أَشْياعِهِ أَنْصارِهِ و أَوْلِيائِهِ، وَانْتَجَبْتُ بَعْدَهُ مُوسَى، وَانْتَحَبْتُ بَعْدَهُ فِتْنَةٌ عَمْياءُ حِنْدِسٌ، لأَنَّ خَيطَ فَرْضِي لا يَنْقَطِعُ، وَحُجَّتِي لا تَخْفى‏، وَإَنَّ أَوْلِيائِي لا يَشْقَوْنَ، إَلا وَمن جَحَدَ واحِداً مِنْهُمْ فَقَدْ جَحَدَ نِعْمَتِيَ، وَمَنْ غَيْرِ آيَةً مِنْ كِتابي فَقَدْ افْتَرى‏ عَلَيَّ، وَوَيْلٌ لِلْمُفْتَرينَ الْجاحِدِينَ عِنْدَ انْقِضاءِ مُدَّةِ عَبْدِي مُوسَى و حَبِيبِي وَخَيْرَتي، إِنَّ المُكَذَّب بِالثَّامِنِ مُكَذَّب بِكُلِّ أَوْلِيائِي، وَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيِّي وَناصِرِي، وَمَنْ أَضَعُ عَلَيْهِ أَعْباءَ النُّبُوَّة وَأَمْنَحُهُ بِالْاِضْطِلاعِ، يَقْتُلُهُ عِفْرِيتٌ مُسْتَكْبِرٌ يُدْفَنُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ الَّتِي بَناها العَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ إِلى جَنْبِ شَرِّ خَلْقِي، حَقّ‏ن القَوْلُ مِنِّي لَاُقِرَّنِّ عَيْنَيْهِ بِمُحَمَّدٍ ابْنِهِ وَخَلِيفَتِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ فَهُو َوارِثُ عِلْمِي ومَعْدِنُ حُكْمِي وَمَوْضِعُ سِرِّي وَحُجَّتِي عَلَى خَلْقِي جُعِلْتُ الجَنَّةَ مَثْواهُ شَفَّعْتُهُ فِي سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْل بَيْتِهِ كُلِّهُم قَدْ اسـْتَوْجَبُوا النَّـارَ،

have established Heaven as his place and have accepted his intercession on behalf of seventy members of his family who have all become sure to burn in the Fire. And I will end the affairs of his son Ali (The tenth Divine Leader) - My Trustee and Helper, a Witness over My creatures, and My Entrusted with My Revelations - with prosperity. I will bring about Al-Hassan (The eleventh Divine Leader) from him - a caller to My Path and the Treasure-house of My Knowledge. Then I will complete Divine Leadership with his son (The twelfth Divine Leader)- Mercy for the people of the two Worlds. He will possess the Perfection of Moses, the Illumination of Jesus, and the Patience of Jacob. My friends will be belittled during his time. Their heads will be given to others as gifts like the heads of the Turks and the Daylams (Who were opposed to Islam) were. They will be killed and burnt. They will be in fear. The Earth will turn red from their shed blood. Their women will cry and mourn. They are truly My friends. I will fend off all oppressive seditions by them. I will fend off any earthquakes by them. I will eliminate any hardships and burdens by them. They are the ones on whom is the Blessings and Mercy from their Lord. They are the guided ones.’”

Abdurrahman ibn Salim said that Abu Basir said, “If you had not even heard any traditions in all your life, just this one is enough for you. Therefore, guard it from all but those for whom it is meant.”

Comment: Conditional Prophecies are a way of hadiths, this hadith doesn't imply it was destined Imams (a) be disobeyed, but rather shows God's plan if they would be disobeyed. This is nature of Quranic prophecies and hadiths.

Misbahal Shariah is a honorable exalted book from Imam Jaffar (a). It's content speaks for itself but it also has authentic chain. The student who wrote the book down per direction of Imam Jaffar (a) some misguided Shiites try character destroy as a Sufi, but reality is, who is a Sufi and who is a Shiite, has always been debated in history. Remember Imam Jaffar (a) is seen as a Sufi by Sufis, a Salafi by Salafis, etc.. so this dispute of who is who, is normal. There is no reason to assume he is not a Shiite and a Sufi making up stuff.

It is related with a sound chain of authority from Salman al- Farsi, 'I visited the Messenger of Allah who looked at me and said,

"O Salman, Allah does not send a prophet or messenger unless there are with him twelve chiefs."

“O Messenger of Allah, I know this from the people of the two books.”

"O Salman, do you know my twelve chiefs, whom Allah has chosen to be leaders after me?"

"Allah and His Messenger know best."

"O Salman, Allah created me from the quintessence of light, and called me, so I obeyed Him. Then He created 'Ali from my light, and called him, and he obeyed. From my light and the light of 'Ali He created Fatimah: He called her and she obeyed. From me, 'Ali and Fatimah, He created al-Hasan and al-Husayn. He called them and they obeyed Him. Allah has named us with five of His names: Allah is al-Mahmud (the Praised) and I am Muhammad (worthy of praise); Allah is al-'Ali (the High), and this is 'Ali (the one of high rank); Allah is al-Fatir (Creator out of nothing), and this is Fatimah; Allah is the One with Hasan (beneficence), and this is Hasan; Allah is Muhassin (the Beautiful), and this is Husayn. He created nine Imams from the light of al-Husayn and called them and they obeyed Him, before Allah created either Heaven on high, the outstretched earth, the air, the angels or man. We were lights who glorified Him, listened to Him and obeyed Him."

"O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom! What is there for the person who recognizes these men as they should be recognized?"

"O Salman, whoever recognizes them as they should be recognized, and follows their example, befriends them and is free of their enemies, by Allah! he is one of us. He will return to where we return, and he will be where we are!"

"O Messenger of Allah, is there belief without knowing their names and lineage?"

"No, Salman."

"Messenger of Allah, where will I find them?"

"You already know al-Husayn; then there will be the master of the worshippers, 'Ali ibn Husayn (Zayn al-'Abidin); then his son Muhammad ibn 'Ali, the piercer of the knowledge of the early and the later prophets and messengers (al-Baqir); then Ja'far ibn Muhammad, the truthful tongue of Allah (al-Sadiq); then Musa ibn Ja'far, the one who kept his rage silent through patience in Allah (al-Kadhim); then 'Ali ibn Musa, pleased with the secret of Allah (al-Rida '); then Muhammad ibn 'Ali, the chosen one from the creatures of Allah (al-Mukatar); then 'Ali ibn Muhammad, the guide to Allah (al-Hadi); then al-Hasan, son of 'Ali, the silent, trustworthy guardian over the secret of Allah (al-'Askari); then mim ha' mim dal (Muhammad), called Ibn al-Hasan, the announcer who establishes the right of Allah."

Salman said, 'I wept. Then I continued,

"O Messenger of Allah, let my life be deferred until their time! "’

'He said, "O Salman, recite this:



فَإِذَا جَاء وَعْدُ أُولاهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبَادًا لَّنَا أُوْلِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجَاسُواْ خِلاَلَ الدِّيَارِ وَكَانَ وَعْدًا مَّفْعُولاً

ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَمْدَدْنَاكُم بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ أَكْثَرَ نَفِيرًا



When the promise for the first of the two came, We sent over you our servants of mighty prowess, so they went to and fro among the houses, and it was a promise to be accomplished. Then We gave you back the turn to prevail against them, and aided you with wealth and children and made you a numerous band." ' (17:5-6)

"I wept a lot," said Salman, "and my yearning became intense.” I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is it a pledge from you?"

' "Yes, by the One Who sent me and entrusted me with the Message; it is a pledge from me and from 'Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, al-Husayn, and the nine Imams descended from the children of al-Husayn, to you and those who are with us, and those of us who are wronged. Whoever is truly sincere in his belief, then by Allah, Salman, let Iblis and his armies come. Whoever has pure disbelief will be punished by retaliation, torture and inheritance (i.e. by others rather than them). Your Lord will not wrong anyone. It is we who are indicated in this verse:



وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَنَجْعَلَهُمْ أَئِمَّةً وَنَجْعَلَهُمُ الْوَارِثِينَ. وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَنُرِي فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَحْذَرُونَ



We desired to bestow a favour upon those who were deemed weak in the land, and to make them the leaders, and to make them the heirs, and to grant them power in the land, and to make Pharaoh, Haman and their armies see from them what they feared." ' (28:5-6)

Salman said, “I took leave of the Messenger of Allah, completely unconcerned as to how Salman would meet death, or how death would meet him.”

(The author of the book narrated) my father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Sa’d ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Khalaf quoted on the authority of Yaqoob ibn Yazid, on the authority of Hammad ibn Isa, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Moskan, on the authority of Aban ibn Taqlib, on the authority of Solaym ibn Qays al-Hilali, on the authority of Salman al-Farsi - may God have Mercy upon him said, “I went to see the Prophet (S). Al-Husayn was sitting on his lap. The Prophet (S) was kissing his eyes and lips and said, ‘You are a Master, the son of a Master. You are an Imam, the son of an Imam. You are a Proof, the son of a Proof. You are the father of nine Proofs that come from your loin. The one from your ninth generation will be the Riser.’”

In Kifayatu 'l-athar, there is a tradition from Jabir ibn Abdillah al-Ansari, in explanation of this verse. When it was revealed, Jabir said to the Prophet: "We know Allah and the Prophet, but who are those vested with authority whose obedience has been conjoined to that of Allah and yourself?" The Prophet said: "They are my caliphs and the Imams of the Muslims after me. The first of them is Ali, then Hasan, then Husayn, then Ali, son of Husayn; then Muhammad, son of Ali, who has been mentioned as al-Baqir in the Torah. O Jabir! You will meet him. When you see him, convey my salam (greetings) to him. He will be succeeded by his son Ja'far as-Sadiq (the Truthful); then Musa, son of Ja'far; then Ali, son of Musa; then Muhammad, son of Ali; then Ali, son of Muhammad; then Hasan, son of Ali.

"He will be followed by his son whose name and patronymic (kunyah) will be the same as mine. He will be Hujjatullah (Proof of Allah) on the earth and Baqiyyatullah (the one spared by Allah to maintain the cause of faith) among mankind. He will conquer the whole world from east to west. So long will he remain hidden from the eyes of his followers and friends that the belief in his imamah will remain only in those hearts which have been tested by Allah for faith."

Jabir said: "O Messenger of Allah! Will his followers benefit from his seclusion?

The Prophet said "Yes! By Him Who sent me with prophethood! They will be guided by his light, and benefit from his wilaayah (love; authority) during his seclusions just as people benefit from the sun even when-it is hidden in a cloud. O Jabir! This is from the hidden secrets of Allah and the treasured knowledge of Allah. So guard it except from the people (who deserve to know)."

وَ خَصَّصْهُمْ بِالْوَسِيْلَةِ
specified them for the mediation,[347] so

وَ جَعَلَهُمْ وَرَثَةَ الْاَنْبِيَآءِ
appointed them the heirs to the prophets,

وَ خَتَمَ بِهِمُ الْاَوْصِيَآءَ وَ الْاَئِمَّةَ

Bless Muhammad and his Household, the pure,

وَ افْعَلْ بِنَا مَا اَنْتَ أَهْلُهٗ فِي الدِّيْنِ وَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ
and act toward us with that of which Thou art worthy in religion, in this world, and in the next world!

اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.
Thou art powerful over everything.[348]

Yes, everything ended with them, but still, the humanity was supposed to meet with the Lord, the Qaim, and return of Christ.

وَأَحْمَدَ بْنِ زِيادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الهَمَذانيُّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ - قالُوا: حَدَّثَنا عَلِىُّ بْنِ إِبراهِيمِ بْنِ هاشِمٍ، عَنْ أَبيهِ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ صالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمنِ بْنِ سالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبي‏بَصِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبي عَبْدِ اللَّه‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، قالَ: قالَ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ لِجابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصارِيِّ: إِنَّ لي‏ إِلَيكَ حاجَةً فَمَتى‏ يَخِفُّ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَخْلُو بِكَ فَأَسْأَلَكَ عَنْها؟ قالَ لَهُ جابِرٌ: فِي أيُّ الأَوْقاتِ شِئْتَ فَخَلا بِهِ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ فَقالَ: يا جابِرُ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ اللَّوْحِ الَّذِي رَأَيْتَهُ فِي يَدِ اُمِّي فاطِمَة بِنْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَما أَخْبَرَتْكَ بِهِ اُمِّي أَنَّ فِي ذلِكَ اللَّوْحِ مَكْتُوباً؟ قالَ جابِرٌ: أَشْهَدُ بِاللَّهِ إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ عَلَى اُمّكَ فاطِمَة فِي حَياةِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ لِاُهَنِّئَها بِوِلادَةِ الحُسَيْنِ‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، فَرَأَيْتُ فِي يَدِها لَوْحاً أَخْضَرَ ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ زُمُرُّدٌ، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهِ كِتاباً أَبْيَضَ شِبْهَ نُورُ الشَّمْسِ، فَقُلْتُ لَها بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَاُمِّي يا بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ ما هذا اللَّوْحُ؟ فَقالَتْ: هذا اللَّوْحُ أَهْداهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلى رَسُولِهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ فِيهِ اِسْمُ أَبي وَاِسْمُ بَعْلِي وَاِسْمُ ابْنِيَّ، وَأَسْماءُ الأَوْصِياءِ مِنْ وُلْدِي، فَأَعْطانِيهِ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ لِيَسُرَّني بِذلِكَ، قالَ جابِرٌ: فَأَعْطَنِيهِ اُمُّكَ فاطِمَةُ، فَقَرَأْتُهُ و انْتَسَخْتُهُ، فَقالَ: أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: فَهَلْ لَكَ يا جابِرُ أَنْ تَعْرِضَهُ عَلِيَّ؟ قالَ: نَعَمْ، فَمَشى‏ مَعَهُ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ حَتّى‏ انتَهى‏ إِلى مَنْزِلِ جابِر، فَأَخْرَجَ أَبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ صَحِيفَةٌ مِنْ رَقٍّ قالَ جابِرٌ: فَأُشْهِدُ بِاللَّهِ إِنِّي هكَذا رَأَيْتُهُ فِي اللَّوْحِ مَكْتُوباً: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ هذا كِتابٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ العَزِيزِ الحَكِيمِ لُِمحَمَّدٍ نُورِهِ وَسَفِيرِهِ وَحِجابِهِ وَدَلِيلِهِ نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الأَمِينُ مِنْ عِنْدَ رَبِّ العالَمِينِ، عَظِّمْ يا مُحَمَّدُ أَسْمائِي، وَاشْكُرْ نَعْمائِي وَتَجْحَدْ آلائي، إِنّي أَنَّا اللَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلاّ أَنَا، قاصِم الجَبَّارِينَ، وَمُذِلُّ الظَّالِمِينَ، وَدَيَّانَ الدِّينِ، إِنّي أَنَا اللَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلاّ أَنَا، فَمَنْ رَجا غَيْرِ فَضْلِي، أَوْ خــافَ غَيْـرَ عَـذابِي عَـذَّبْتُهُ عَذابـاً لا أَعَـذَّبُ بِهِ أَحَـداً مِـنَ

My Chastisement in such a way that no one in the Two Worlds has been punished. Thus worship Me alone, and rely only on Me. Whenever I appoint a Prophet and his time ends I appoint a Trustee for him. I have made you superior over the other Prophets, and have made your Trustee (The first Divine Leader) superior over the other Prophet’s Trustees. I have honored you with two lion cubs after him - your two grandsons Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn. I have established Al-Hassan (The second Divine Leader) as the Treasure-Mine of My Knowledge after the expiration of the term of his father. I have established Al-Husayn (The second Divine Leader) as the storehouse of My Revelations. I have honored him with the Martyrdom, and have perfected Prosperity for him. He is the noblest of the martyrs. He holds the highest rank of the martyrs near Me. And I have entrusted him with My Perfect Word, and I have left the Complete Proof near him. I give rewards and chastisements by his kinship - the first of whom is Ali (The fourth Divine Leader)- the Master of the Worshippers and the adornment of the previous Trustees. His son (Muhammad) - the praised one - is like his grandfather. He is Muhammad Al-Baqir - the analyzer of My Knowledge and the Treasure House of My Wisdom. Those who doubt Ja’far will be destroyed. Whoever rejects him has indeed rejected Me. I say the right thing. I highly honor Ja’far (The sixth Divine Leader). I will make him happy regarding his followers, companions and friends. I have appointed Musa (The seventh Divine Leader) after him. After him there will be a short period of dark sedition, although there will not be a breach of Divine Leadership. My Proof will not remain hidden and the Trustees will not suffer. Beware that whoever denies any of them has indeed denied Me. Whoever changes any of the verses of My Book has indeed ascribed lies to Me. Woe be to those who ascribe lies and those who deny! Whoever denies the eighth (Divine Leader Al-Ridha’) after the duration of the Leadership of Musa - My Servant, Friend and Appointed One - is over, has indeed denied all My Trustees. Ali is My Trustee and Helper. He is the one on whose shoulders I will place the burden of Prophethood and grant him power. A haughty wicked fellow (al-Ma’mun) will murder him and bury him in a town that is established by a good servant next to My worst creature. I say the right thing. I will make him happy by his successor after him Muhammad (The ninth Divine Leader) - his son. He is the inheritor of My Knowledge and the Treasure-house of My Wisdom. He is the site of My Secrets and My Proof for My creatures. I

العالَمِينَ، فَإِيّايَ فَاعْبُدْ وَعَلِيِّ فَتَوَكَّلْ، إِنّي لَمْ أَبْعَثْ نَبِيّاً فَأَكْمَلْتُ أَيَّاماً وَاَنْقَضَتْ مُدَّتُهُ، إِلاّ جَعَلْتُ لَهُ وَصِيّاً وَإِنّي فَضَّلْتُكَ عَلَى الأَنْبِياءِ، وَفَضَّلْتُكَ وَصِيِّكَ عَلَى الأَوْصِياءِ، وَأَكْرَمْتُكَ بِشِبْلَيْكَ بَعْدَهُ، وَبِسِبْطَيْكَ الحَسَنِ وَالحُسَيْنِ، فَجَعَلْتُ حَسَناً مَعْدِنَ عِلْمِي بَعْد انْقِضاءَ مُدَّةِ أَبِيهِ، وَجَعَلْتُ حُسَيْناً خازِنَ وَحْيِي، وَأَكْرَمْتُهُ بِالشَّهادَةِ وَخَتَمْتُ لَهُ بِالسَّعادَةِ، فَهُوَأَفْضَلُ مَنِ اسْتَشْهِدَ، وَأَرْفَعُ الشُّهَداءِ دَرَجَة عِنْدِي، وَجَعَلْتُ كَلِمَتِيَ التَّامَّةَ مَعَهُ وَالحُجَّةَ البالِغَةَ عِنْدَهُ، بِعِتْرَتِهِ اُثِيبُ وَأَعاقِبَ، أَوَّلُهُمْ عَلِيٌّ سَيِّدُ العابِدِينَ، وَزَيْنُ أَوْلِيائِي الماضِينَ، وَابْنِهِ شَبِيهُ جَدِّهِ الَمحْمُودِ، مُحَمَّد الْباقِرُ لِعِلْمِي وَالمَعْدِنُ لِحُكْمِي، سَيَهْلِكَ المُرْتابُون فِي جَعْفَرٍ، الرَّادُّ عَلَيْهِ كَالرَّادِ عَلِيَّ، حَقٌّ القَوْلُ مِنِّي، لَأَكْرِمَنَّ مَثْوى‏ جَعْفَرٍ، وَلا سُرَّنَّهُ فِي أَشْياعِهِ أَنْصارِهِ و أَوْلِيائِهِ، وَانْتَجَبْتُ بَعْدَهُ مُوسَى، وَانْتَحَبْتُ بَعْدَهُ فِتْنَةٌ عَمْياءُ حِنْدِسٌ، لأَنَّ خَيطَ فَرْضِي لا يَنْقَطِعُ، وَحُجَّتِي لا تَخْفى‏، وَإَنَّ أَوْلِيائِي لا يَشْقَوْنَ، إَلا وَمن جَحَدَ واحِداً مِنْهُمْ فَقَدْ جَحَدَ نِعْمَتِيَ، وَمَنْ غَيْرِ آيَةً مِنْ كِتابي فَقَدْ افْتَرى‏ عَلَيَّ، وَوَيْلٌ لِلْمُفْتَرينَ الْجاحِدِينَ عِنْدَ انْقِضاءِ مُدَّةِ عَبْدِي مُوسَى و حَبِيبِي وَخَيْرَتي، إِنَّ المُكَذَّب بِالثَّامِنِ مُكَذَّب بِكُلِّ أَوْلِيائِي، وَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيِّي وَناصِرِي، وَمَنْ أَضَعُ عَلَيْهِ أَعْباءَ النُّبُوَّة وَأَمْنَحُهُ بِالْاِضْطِلاعِ، يَقْتُلُهُ عِفْرِيتٌ مُسْتَكْبِرٌ يُدْفَنُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ الَّتِي بَناها العَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ إِلى جَنْبِ شَرِّ خَلْقِي، حَقّ‏ن القَوْلُ مِنِّي لَاُقِرَّنِّ عَيْنَيْهِ بِمُحَمَّدٍ ابْنِهِ وَخَلِيفَتِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ فَهُو َوارِثُ عِلْمِي ومَعْدِنُ حُكْمِي وَمَوْضِعُ سِرِّي وَحُجَّتِي عَلَى خَلْقِي جُعِلْتُ الجَنَّةَ مَثْواهُ شَفَّعْتُهُ فِي سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْل بَيْتِهِ كُلِّهُم قَدْ اسـْتَوْجَبُوا النَّـارَ،

have established Heaven as his place and have accepted his intercession on behalf of seventy members of his family who have all become sure to burn in the Fire. And I will end the affairs of his son Ali (The tenth Divine Leader) - My Trustee and Helper, a Witness over My creatures, and My Entrusted with My Revelations - with prosperity. I will bring about Al-Hassan (The eleventh Divine Leader) from him - a caller to My Path and the Treasure-house of My Knowledge. Then I will complete Divine Leadership with his son (The twelfth Divine Leader)- Mercy for the people of the two Worlds. He will possess the Perfection of Moses, the Illumination of Jesus, and the Patience of Jacob. My friends will be belittled during his time. Their heads will be given to others as gifts like the heads of the Turks and the Daylams (Who were opposed to Islam) were. They will be killed and burnt. They will be in fear. The Earth will turn red from their shed blood. Their women will cry and mourn. They are truly My friends. I will fend off all oppressive seditions by them. I will fend off any earthquakes by them. I will eliminate any hardships and burdens by them. They are the ones on whom is the Blessings and Mercy from their Lord. They are the guided ones.’”

Abdurrahman ibn Salim said that Abu Basir said, “If you had not even heard any traditions in all your life, just this one is enough for you. Therefore, guard it from all but those for whom it is meant.”

Comment: Conditional Prophecies are a way of hadiths, this hadith doesn't imply it was destined Imams (a) be disobeyed, but rather shows God's plan if they would be disobeyed. This is nature of Quranic prophecies and hadiths.
All Prophets in their own time were superior to pervious prophets, because the Revelations of God are progressive. The new Revelation is superior to previous one. Jesus was superior to Mose.

To me this means, for example, when Jesus was on earth, He was the manifested guide. When He was martyred and left the world, He was the concealed. Then at that time, the Spirit of Truth, was the unmanifested proof. Once Muhammad appeared, He was the Spirit of truth, taking a physical body, thus the unmanifested became Manifested.
So, was Moses, Abraham, or Zoroaster.
For Muslims, Muhammad was the Manifest guide, then after Him, Imam Ali was the Manifest guide, and then Imams after Him, until Imam Askari. Once the 11th Imam was Martyred, then your Imam had disappeared, and thus the 12th One was the unmanifested Imam, albeit in the Spiritual realm., until He is born into this world. Here is the Hadith:


والكافي امتحان الناس في غيبة المهدي عليه اسلام [1919 - (الإمام الباقر عليه السلام) " فسلي يا أم هاني قالت: قلت: يا سيدي قول الله عز وجل: فلا أقسم بالخنس الجوار الكنس، قال: نعم المسألة سألتني يا أم هاني. هذا مولود في آخر الزمان، هو المهدي من هذه العترة، تكون له حيرة وغيبة، يضل فيها أقوام، ويهتدي فيها أقوام: فيا طوبى لك إن أدركته، ويا طوبى لمن أدركه "] * 1919

Umi Hani Ask Imam Baghir about the verse of Quran

فلا أقسم بالخنس الجوار الكنس

Imam answered: umi Hani you asked a good question. This is the Mahdi who will be born in the Last period of Time or Akharuzaman.
Likewise when Jesus came, it is written in the Gospels, that it was the Last Hour. This term, or Last Hour, means, when the End of an Ummat comes. Every ummat has an end, when their end comes, God does not delay it even one Hour. At that time, the promised One, who was hidden, is manifested to this world. For Jews, this hidden proof was Messiah. For Muslims this hidden proof was Mahdi. This is why, Jesus said, He came down from Heaven, meaning before He is born, He was in Heaven or the spiritual realm. Likewise is the Mahdi. Until He is not born, He is in the spiritual realm. For Baha'is the Bab is the promised One, who manifested His cause in the year 1260 AH.

But like Quran and day of judgment, I will be providing a holistic contextualize each other approach to who the Mahdi is per Shiite hadiths as well I Will comment sometimes on Quran to support this.

O Allah, O He who

خَصَّ مُحَمَّدًا وَآلَهٗ بِالْكَرَامَةِ
singled out Muhammad and his Household for honour,

وَ حَبَاهُمْ بِالرِّسَالَةِ
showed favour toward them with messengerhood,

وَ خَصَّصْهُمْ بِالْوَسِيْلَةِ
specified them for the mediation,[347] so

وَ جَعَلَهُمْ وَرَثَةَ الْاَنْبِيَآءِ
appointed them the heirs to the prophets,

وَ خَتَمَ بِهِمُ الْاَوْصِيَآءَ وَ الْاَئِمَّةَ
sealed with them the executors and the Imams,

وَ عَلَّمَهُمْ عِلْمَ مَا كَانَ وَ عِلْمَ مَا بَقِيَ
taught them the knowledge of what has been and what remains to be,

وَ جَعَلَ أَفْئِدَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي اِلَيْهِمْ
and made the hearts of the people incline toward them!

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ
Bless Muhammad and his Household, the pure,

وَ افْعَلْ بِنَا مَا اَنْتَ أَهْلُهٗ فِي الدِّيْنِ وَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ
and act toward us with that of which Thou art worthy in religion, in this world, and in the next world!

اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.
Thou art powerful over everything.[348]
Where is the question?

Only God is pure.

There is Du'a Arifni Nafsika:

اَللَّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِي نَفْسَكَ
allahumma `arrifni nafsaka
O Allah, make me recognize You,

فَإنَّكَ إنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِي نَفْسَكَ
fa'innaka in lam tu`arrifni nafsaka
because if You do not make me recognize You,

لَمْ اعْرِفْ رَسُولَكَ
lam a`rif rasulaka
I will not recognize Your Messenger.

اَللَّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِي رَسُولَكَ
allahumma `arrifni rasulaka
O Allah, make me recognize Your Messenger,

فَإِنَّكَ إنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِي رَسُولَكَ
fa'innaka in lam tu`arrifni rasulaka
because if You do not make me recognize Your Messenger,

لَمْ اعْرِفْ حُجَّتَكَ
lam a`rif hujjataka
I will not recognize Your Argument.

اَللَّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِي حُجَّتَكَ
allahumma `arrifni hujjataka
O Allah, make me recognize Your Argument,

فَإنَّكَ إنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِي حُجَّتَكَ
fa'innaka in lam tu`arrifni hujjataka
because if You do not make me recognize Your Argument,

ضَلَلْتُ عَنْ دِينِي
dalaltu `an dini
I will stray off the path to my religion.

اَللَّهُمَّ لاَ تُمِتْنِي مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً
allahumma la tumitni mitatan jahiliyyaatan
O Allah, do not make me die like the death of those who have not recognized Islam

وَلاَ تُزِغْ قَلْبِي بَعْدَ إذْ هَدَيْتَنِي
wa la tuzigh qalbi ba`da idh hadaytani
and do not cause my heart to stray off after You have guided me.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا هَدَيْتَنِي لِوِلاَيَةِ مَنْ فَرَضْتَ عَلَيَّ طَاعَتَهُ
allahumma fakama hadaytani liwilayati man faradta `alayya ta`atahu
O Allah, just as You have guided me to the loyalty of those the obedience to whom You have made incumbent upon me,

مِنْ وِلاَيَةِ وُلاَةِ امْرِكَ بَعْدَ رَسُولِكَ
min wilayati wulati amrika ba`da rasulika
that is the loyalty to Your representatives after Your Messenger,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ
salawatuka `alayhi wa alihi
Your peace be upon him and his Household,

حَتَّىٰ وَالَيْتُ وُلاَةَ امْرِكَ
hatta walaytu wulata amrika
and thus I am loyal to Your representatives;

امِيرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْحَسَنَ وَٱلْحُسَيْنَ
amira almu'minina wa alhasana wa alhusayna
[namely,] the Commander of the Faithful, al-Hasan, al-Husayn,

وَعَلِيّاً وَمُحَمَّداً وَجَعْفَراً
wa `aliyyan wa muhammadan wa ja`faran
`Ali, Muhammad, Ja`far,

وَمُوسَىٰ وَعَلِيّاً وَمُحَمَّداً
wa musa wa `aliyyan wa muhammadan
Musa, `Ali, Muhammad,

وَعَلِيّاً وَٱلْحَسَنَ وَٱلْحُجَّةَ ٱلْقَائِمَ ٱلْمَهْدِيَّ
wa `aliyyan wa alhasana wa alhujjata alqa'ima almahdiyya
`Ali, al-Hasan, and the Argument—the Assumer and well-guided,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ اجْمَعِينَ
salawatuka `alayhim ajma`ina
Your peace be upon them all,

اَللَّهُمَّ فَثَبِّتْنِي عَلَىٰ دِينِكَ
allahumma fathabbitni `ala dinika
so also, O Allah, make me steadfast on Your religion,

وَٱسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ
wasta`milni bita`atika
use me in the obedience to You,

وَلَيِّنْ قَلْبِي لِوَلِيِّ امْرِكَ
wa layyin qalbi liwaliyyi amrika
make my heart lenient towards Your representative,

وَعَافِنِي مِمَّا ٱمْتَحَنْتَ بِهِ خَلْقَكَ
wa `afini mimma imtahanta bihi khalqaka
release me from that which You have used as tests for Your creatures,

وَثَبِّتْنِي عَلَىٰ طَاعَةِ وَلِيِّ امْرِكَ
wa thabbitni `ala ta`ati waliyyi amrika
and make me steadfast on the obedience to Your representative,

ٱلَّذِي سَتَرْتَهُ عَنْ خَلْقِكَ
alladhi satartahu `an khalqika
whom You have hidden from Your creatures

فَبِـإِذْنِكَ غَـابَ عَنْ بَرِيَّتِـكَ
fabi'idhnika ghaba `an bariyyatika
and he has thus disappeared from [the sights of] Your creatures by Your permission,

وَامْرَكَ يَنْتَظِرُ
wa amraka yantaziru
waiting for Your command [to reappear],

وَانْتَ ٱلْعَالِمُ غَيْرُ ٱلْمُعَلَّمِ
wa anta al`alimu ghayru almu`allami
and You are the most Knowledgeable and none can instruct You

بِٱلْوَقْتِ الَّذِي فِيهِ صَلاَحُ امْرِ وَلِيِّكَ
bilwaqti alladhi fihi salahu amri waliyyika
of the best time for Your representative to reappear,

فِي ٱلإِذْنِ لَهُ بِإِظْهَارِ امْرِهِ
fi al-idhni lahu bi izhari amrihi
and when exactly You allow him to declare his affair

وَكَشْفِ سِرِّهِ
wa kashfi sirrihi
and to disclose his secret.

فَصَبِّرْنِي عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ
fa sabbirni `ala dhalika
So, grant me patience to endure that

حَتَّىٰ لاَ احِبَّ تَعْجِيلَ مَا اخَّرْتَ
hatta la uhibba ta`jila ma akhkharta
so that I will not long for hastening that which You have delayed

وَلاَ تَاْخِيرَ مَا عَجَّلْتَ
wa la ta'khira ma `ajjalta
or delaying that which You would hasten,

وَلاَ اكْشِفَ مَا سَتَرْتَ
wa la akshifa ma satarta
I will not disclose that which You have concealed,

وَلاَ ابْحَثَ عَمَّا كَتَمْتَ
wa la abhatha `amma katamta
I will not investigate that which You have covered,

وَلاَ انَازِعَكَ فِي تَدْبِيرِكَ
wa la unazi`aka fi tadbirika
I will not dispute with You about Your management,

وَلاَ اقُولَ لِمَ وَكَيْفَ
wa la aqula lima wa kayfa
and I will not ask, ‘why’, ‘how’

وَمَا بَالُ وَلِيِّ ٱلامْرِ لاَ يَظْهَرُ
wa ma balu waliyyi al-amri la yazharu
and ‘what for the Representative is not coming,

وَقَدِ ٱمْتَلَاتِ ٱلارْضُ مِنَ ٱلجَوْرِ
wa qad imtala'at al-ardu mina aljawri
after the earth has been filled with injustice.

وَافَوِّضَ امُورِي كُلَّهَا إِلَيْكَ
wa ufawwida umuri kullaha ilayka
Instead, I will refer all my affairs to You.

اَللَّهُمَّ إنِّي اسْالُكَ انْ تُرِيَنِي وَلِيَّ ٱلامْرِ
allahumma inni as'aluka an turiyani waliyya al-amri
O Allah, I beseech You to allow me to see the Representative,

ظَاهِراً نَافِذَ ٱلامْرِ
zahiran nafidha al-amri
apparent and prevalent,

مَعَ عِلْمِي بِانَّ لَكَ ٱلسُّلْطَانَ وَٱلْقُدْرَةَ
ma`a `ilmi bi-anna laka alssultana wa alqudrata
although I know for sure that all authority, power,

وَٱلْبُرْهَانَ وَٱلْحُجَّةَ
wa alburhana wa alhujjata
potency, argument,

وَٱلْمَشِيَّةَ وَٱلْحَوْلَ وَٱلْقُوَّةَ
wa almashi'ata wa lhawla wa alquwwata
volition, might, and strength are Yours [alone].

فَٱفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ بِي وَبِجَمِيعِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
faf`al dhalika bi wa bijami`i almu'minina
So, do this to me and to all the believers

حَتَّىٰ نَنْظُرَ إلَىٰ وَلِيِّكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ
hatta nanzura ila waliyyika salawatuka `alayhi
so that we will be able to witness Your representative, Your peace be upon him,

ظَاهِرَ ٱلْمَقَالَةِ
zahira almaqalati
while he is evident in claim,

وَاضِحَ ٱلدِّلاَلَةِ
wadiha alddilalati
manifest in proof,

هَادِياً مِنَ ٱلضَّلاَلَةِ
hadiyan mina alddalalati
guiding from deviation,

شَافِياً مِنَ ٱلجَهَالَةِ
shafi`an mina aljahalati
and healing from ignorance.

ابْرِزْ يَا رَبِّ مُشَاهَدَتَهُ
abriz ya rabbi mushahadatahu
O my Lord, make the looking at him eminent,

وَثَبِّتْ قَوَاعِدَهُ
wa thabbit qawa`idahu
make firm his bases,

وَٱجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ تَقَرُّ عَيْنُهُ بِرُؤْيَتِهِ
waj`alna mimman taqarru `aynuhu biru'yatihi
make us of those whose eyes are delighted by seeing him,

وَاقِمْنَا بِخِدْمَتِهِ
wa aqimna bikhidmatihi
employ us to serve him,

وَتَوَفَّنَا عَلَىٰ مِلَّتِهِ
wa tawaffana `ala millatihi
make us die following his creed,

وَٱحْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَتِهِ
wa ihshurna fi zumratihi
and include us with his group.

اَللَّهُمَّ اعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ جَمِيعِ مَا خَلَقْتَ وَذَرَاْتَ
allahumma a`idhhu min sharri jami`i ma khalaqta wa dhara'ta
O Allah, protect him against the evil of all that which You have created, made,

وَبَرَاْتَ وَانْشَاْتَ وَصَوَّرْتَ
wa bara'ta wa ansha'ta wa sawwarta
originated, fashioned, and formed.

وَٱحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ
wa ihfazhu min bayni yadayhi wa min khalfihi
Safeguard him from his front and back,

وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ
wa `an yaminihi wa `an shimalihi
his right and left sides,

وَمِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَمِنْ تَحْتِهِ
wa min fawqihi wa min tahtihi
and above and beneath him

بِحِفْظِكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يَضِيعُ مَنْ حَفِظْتَهُ بِهِ
bihifzika alladhi la yadi`u man hafiztahu bihi
with Your safeguarding that will never fail to save whomever is safeguarded with it,

وَٱحْفَظْ فِيهِ رَسُولَكَ وَوَصِيَّ رَسُولِكَ
wahfaz fihi rasulaka wa wasiyya rasulika
and safeguard Your Messenger and Your Messenger’s Successor through safeguarding him,

عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
`alayhimu alssalamu
peace be upon them.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَمُدَّ فِي عُمْرِهِ
allahumma wa mudda fi `umrihi
O Allah, extend his lifetime,

وَزِدْ فِي اجَلِهِ
wa zid fi ajalihi
increase the period of his life,

وَاعِنْهُ عَلَىٰ مَا وَلَّيْتَهُ وَٱسْتَرْعَيْتَهُ
wa a`inhu `ala ma wallaytahu wa istar`aytahu
help him undertake that which You have entrusted with him and put under his supervision,

وَزِدْ فِي كَرَامَتِكَ لَهُ
wa zid fi karamatika lahu
and increase Your honor to him.

فَإِنَّهُ ٱلْهَادِيُ ٱلْمَهْدِيُّ
fa'innahu alhadi almahdiyyu
Verily, he is the guide, the well-guided,

وَٱلْقَائِمُ ٱلْمُهْتَدِي
wa alqa'imu almuhtadi
the assumer (of the mission entrusted with him), the rightly guided,

وَٱلطَّاهِرُ ٱلتَّقِيُّ
wa alttahiru alttaqiyyu
the immaculate, the pious,

ٱلزَّكِيُّ ٱلنَّقِيُّ
alzzakiyyu alnnaqiyyu
the pure, the refined,

ٱلرَّضِيُّ ٱلْمَرْضِيُّ
alrradiyyu almardiyyu
the pleased, the satisfied,

ٱلصَّابِرُ ٱلشَّكُورُ ٱلْمُجْتَهِدُ
alssabiru alshshakuru almujtahidu
the serene, the thankful, and the hard-working.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَلاَ تَسْلُبْنَا ٱلْيَقِينَ
allahumma wa la taslubna alyaqina
O Allah, do not deprive us of our strong faith

لِطُولِ ٱلامَدِ فِي غَيْبَتِهِ
lituli al-amadi fi ghaybatihi
because of his long-lasting occultation

وَٱنْقِطَاعِ خَبَرِهِ عَنَّا
wa inqita`i khabarihi `anna
and disconnection between him and us.

وَلاَ تُنْسِنَا ذِكْرَهُ
wa la tunsina dhikrahu
Do not make us forget to mention him [constantly],

وَٱنْتِظَارَهُ وَٱلإِيـمَانَ بِهِ
wa intizarahu wal-imana bihi
to expect him, to believe in him,

وَقُوَّةَ ٱلْيَقِينِ فِي ظُهُورِهِ
wa quwwata alyaqini fi zuhurihi
to enjoy strong faith in his advent,

وَٱلدُّعَاءَ لَهُ وَٱلصَّلاَةَ عَلَيْهِ
wa alddu`a'a lahu w alssalata `alayhi
to pray You for him, and to invoke Your blessings on him

حَتَّىٰ لاَ يُقَنِّطَنَا طُولُ غَيْبَتِهِ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ
hatta la yuqannitana tulu ghaybatihi min qiyamihi
so that his long-lasting occultation will never make us despair of his advent

وَيَكُونَ يَقِينُنَا فِي ذٰلِكَ
wa yakuna yaqinuna fi dhalika
and our faith in this will be

كَيَقِينِنَا فِي قِيَامِ رَسُولِكَ
kayaqinina fi qiyami rasulika
just like our faith in the advent of Your Messenger,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ
salawatuka `alayhi wa alihi
Your peace be upon him and his Household,

وَمَا جَاءَ بِهِ مِنْ وَحْيِكَ وَتَنْزِيلِكَ
wa ma ja'a bihi min wahyika wa tanzilika
and [just like our faith in] all that which has been conveyed by him to us through Your Revelation and Divine communication.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَقَوِّ قُلُوبَنَا عَلَىٰ ٱلإيـمَانِ بِهِ
allahumma wa qawwi qulubana `ala al-imani bihi
O Allah, make our hearts believe in him unshakably

حَتَّىٰ تَسْلُكَ بِنَا عَلَىٰ يَدِهِ مِنْهَاجَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ
hatta tasluka bina `ala yadihi minhaja alhuda
so that You will lead us, at his hands, to the path of true guidance,

وَٱلْمَحَجَّةَ ٱلْعُظْمَىٰ
Wa almahajjata al`uzma
the greatest destination,

وَٱلطَّرِيقَةَ ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ
wa alttariqata alwusta
and the moderate way.

وَقَوِّنَا عَلَىٰ طَاعَتِهِ
wa qawwina `ala ta`atihi
Grant us strength to obey him,

وَثَبِّتْنَا عَلَىٰ مُشَايَعَتِهِ
wa thabbitna `ala mushaya`atihi
make us firm in supporting him,

وَٱجْعَلْنَا فِي حِزْبِهِ وَاعْوَانِهِ
wa ij`alna fi hizbihi wa a`wanihi
and include us with his party, backers,

وَانْصَارِهِ وَٱلرَّاضِينَ بِفِعْلِهِ
wa ansarihi wa alrradina bifi`lihi
allies, and those satisfied with his deed.

وَلاَ تَسْلُبْنَا ذٰلِكَ فِي حَيَاتِنَا
wa la taslubna dhalika fi hayatina
Do not deprive us of so during our lifetimes

وَلاَ عِنْدَ وَفَاتِنَا
wa la `inda wafatina
nor at the hour of our death,

حَتَّىٰ تَتَوَفَّانَا وَنَحْنُ عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ
hatta tatawaffana wa nahnu `ala dhalika
but (please) make us die while we carry this faith,

لاَ شَاكِّينَ وَلاَ نَاكِثِينَ
la shakkina wa la nakithina
without doubt, breach of our covenant to him,

وَلاَ مُرْتَابِينَ وَلاَ مُكَذِّبِينَ
wa la murtabina wa la mukadhdhibina
suspect, or belying him.

اَللَّهُمَّ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُ
allahumma `ajjil farajahu
O Allah, hasten his Relief,

وَايِّدْهُ بِٱلنَّصْرِ
wa ayyid-hu bilnnasri
aid him with victory,

وَانْصُرْ نَاصِرِيهِ
wansur nasirih
grant his supporters victory,

وَٱخْذِلْ خَاذِلِيهِ
wa ikhdhil khadhilihi
disappoint those who disappoint him,

وَدَمْدِمْ عَلَىٰ مَنْ نَصَبَ لَهُ وَكَذَّبَ بِهِ
wa damdim `ala man nasaba lahu wa kadhdhaba bihi
doom those who conspire against him and those who contradict him,

وَاظْهِرْ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ
wa azhir bihi alhaqqa
make manifest the truth through him,

وَامِتْ بِهِ ٱلْجَوْرَ
wa amit bihi aljawra
obliterate injustice through him,

وَٱسْتَنْقِذْ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ
wa istanqidh bihi `ibadaka almu'minina mina aldhdhulli
save Your faithful servants from humiliation through him,

وَانْعِشْ بِهِ ٱلْبِلاَدَ
wa an`ish bihi albilada
refresh the lands through him,

وَاقْتُلْ بِهِ جَبَابِرَةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ
waqtul bihi jababirata alkufri
kill the tyrannical chiefs of disbelief through him,

وَٱقْصِمْ بِهِ رُؤُوسَ الضَّلاَلَةِ
waqsim bihi ru'usa alddalalati
crush the heads of deviation through him,

وَذَلِّلْ بِهِ ٱلْجَبَّارِينَ وَٱلْكَافِرِينَ
wa dhallil bihi aljabbarina walkafirina
debase the tyrants and disbelievers through him,

وَابْرِ بِهِ ٱلْمُنَافِقِينَ وَٱلنَّاكِثِينَ
wa abri bihi almunafiqina walnnakithina
eradicate the hypocrites, the breachers,

وَجَمِيعِ ٱلْمُخَالِفِينَ وَٱلْمُلْحِدِينَ
wa jami`i almukhalifina walmulhidina
and all the dissidents and the atheists

فِي مَشَارِقِ ٱلارْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا
fi mashariqi al-ardi wa magharibiha
in the east and west of this earth,

وَبَرِّهَا وَبَحْرِهَا
wa barriha wa bahriha
on lands, in oceans,

وَسَهْلِهَا وَجَبَلِهَا
wa sahliha wa jabaliha
in plains, and in mountains

حَتَّىٰ لاَ تَدَعَ مِنْهُمْ دَيَّاراً
hatta la tada`a minhum dayyaran
so that You will not leave of them a single one on earth

وَلاَ تُبْقِيَ لَهُمْ آثَاراً
wa la tubqiya lahum atharan
and You will keep not even a single trace of them.

طَهِّرْ مِنْهُمْ بِلاَدَكَ
tahhir minhum biladaka
Clean Your lands from them,

وَٱشْفِ مِنْهُمْ صُدُورَ عِبَادِكَ
washfi minhum sudura `ibadika
heal the breasts of Your servants from them,

وَجَدِّدْ بِهِ مَا ٱمْتَحَىٰ مِنْ دِينِكَ
wa jaddid bihi ma imtaha min dinika
revive the signs of Your religion that were obliterated,

وَاصْلِحْ بِهِ مَا بُدِّلَ مِنْ حُكْمِكَ وَغُيِّرَ مِنْ سُنَّتِكَ
wa aslih bihi ma buddila min hukmika wa ghuyyira min sunnatika
and rectify Your laws that were altered and Your instructions that were changed,

حَتَّىٰ يَعُودَ دِينُكَ بِهِ وَعَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ
hatta ya`uda dinuka bihi wa`ala yadayhi
so that Your religion will be restored, through him and at his hands,

غَضّاً جَدِيداً صَحِيحاً
ghaddan jadidan sahihan
fresh, new, and sound

لاَ عِوَجَ فِيهِ وَلاَ بِدْعَةَ مَعَهُ
la `iwaja fihi wa la bid`ata ma`ahu
without any crookedness and without any heresy

حَتَّىٰ تُطْفِئَ بِعَدْلِهِ نِيرَانَ ٱلْكَافِرِينَ
hatta tutfi'a bi`adlihi nirana alkafirina
so that You will extinguish the fires of the disbelievers through his justice.

فَإنَّهُ عَبْدُكَ ٱلَّذِي ٱسْتَخْلَصْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ
fa'innahu `abduka alladhi istakhlastahu linafsika
He is verily Your servant on whom You have decided for Yourself,

وَٱرْتَضَيْتَهُ لِنُصْرَةِ دِينِكَ
wartadaytahu linusrati dinika
accepted to support Your religion,

وَٱصْطَفَيْتَهُ بِعِلْمِكَ
wastafaytahu bi`ilmika
chosen on the basis of Your [eternal] knowledge,

وَعَصَمْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلذُّنُوبِ
wa `asamtahu mina aldhdhunubi
preserved against sins,

وَبَرَّاْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلعُيُوبِ
wa barra'tahu mina al`uyubi
freed from defects,

وَاطْلَعْتَهُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْغُيُوبِ
wa atla`tahu `ala alghuyubi
apprised of the unseen,

وَانْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ
wa an`amta `alayhi
bestowed with Your grace,

وَطَهَّرْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلرِّجْسِ
wa tahhartahu mina alrrijsi
purified from filth,

وَنَقَّيْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلدَّنَسِ
wa naqqaytahu mina alddanasi
and refined from impurity.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ
allahumma fasalli `alayhi
So, O Allah, confer blessings upon him

وَعَلَىٰ آبَائِهِ ٱلائِمَّةِ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ
wa `ala aba'ihi al-a'immati alttahirina
and upon his forefathers the immaculate Imams

وَعَلَىٰ شِيعَتِهِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ
wa `ala shi`atihi almuntajabina
and upon his elite partisans,

وَبَلِّغْهُمْ مِنْ آمَالِهِمْ مَا يَاْمَلُونَ
wa ballighhum min amalihim ma ya'maluna
make them attain the utmost of their hopes,

وَٱجْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ مِنَّا خَالِصاً
waj`al dhalika minna khalisan
and accept this from us to be free

مِنْ كُلِّ شَكٍّ وَشُبْهَةٍ
min kulli shakkin wa shubhatin
from any doubt, sedition,

وَرِيَاءٍ وَسُمْعَةٍ
wa riya'in wa sum`atin
ostentation, or showing off,

حَتَّىٰ لاَ نُرِيدَ بِهِ غَيْرَكَ
hatta la nurida bihi ghayraka
so that we will not seek through it anyone save You

وَلاَ نَطْلُبَ بِهِ إِلاَّ وَجْهَكَ
wa la natluba bihi illa wajhaka
and we will not aim for anything save Your Face.

اَللَّهُمَّ إنَّا نَشْكُو إلَيْكَ فَقْدَ نَبِيِّنَا
allahumma inna nashku ilayka faqda nabiyyina
O Allah, we complain to You about missing our Prophet,

وَغَيْبَةَ وَلِيِّنَا
wa ghaybata waliyyina
occultation of our Master,

وَشِدَّةَ ٱلزَّمَانِ عَلَيْنَا
wa shiddata alzzamani `alayna
unbearable vicissitudes of days against us,

وَوُقُوعَ ٱلْفِتَنِ
wa wuqu`a alfitani
befalling of seditious matters,

وَتَظَاهُرَ ٱلاعْدَاءِ
wa tazahura ala`da'i
alliance of our enemies [against us],

وَكَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا
wa kathrata `aduwwina
the big numbers of our enemies,

وَقِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا
wa qillata `adadina
and the fewness of us.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَٱفْرُجْ ذٰلِكَ عَنَّا
allahumma fafruj dhalika `anna
O Allah, relieve us from all that

بِفَتْحٍ مِنْكَ تُعَجِّلُهُ
bifathin minka tu`ajjiluhu
by means of a triumph that You may hasten,

وَنَصْرٍ مِنْكَ تُعِزُّهُ
wa nasrin minka tu`izzuhu
a victory that You may fortify,

وَإمَامِ عَدْلٍ تُظْهِرُهُ
wa-imami `adlin tuzhiruhu
and a just leader that You allow to appear.

إِلٰهَ ٱلْحَقِّ آمِينَ
ilaha alhaqqi amina
O God of the Truth, respond to us.

اَللَّهُمَّ إنَّا نَسْالُكَ
allahumma inna nas'aluka
O Allah, we earnestly beseech You

انْ تَاْذَنَ لِوَلِيِّكَ فِي إِظْهَارِ عَدْلِكَ فِي بِلاَدِكَ
an ta'dhana liwaliyyika fi izhari `adlika fi biladika
to allow Your Representative to spread Your justice in Your lands

وَقَتْلِ اعْدَائِكَ فِي بِلاَدِكَ
wa qatli a`da'ika fi biladika
and to kill Your enemies in Your lands,

حَتَّىٰ لاَ تَدَعَ لِلْجَوْرِ يَا رَبِّ دَعَامَةً إِلاَّ قَصَمْتَهَا
hatta la tada`a liljawri ya rabbi da`amatan illa qasamtaha
so that You, O my Lord, will not leave any support [of injustice] but that You demolish it,

وَلاَ بَقِيَّةً إِلاَّ اَفْنَيْتَهَا
wa la baqiyyatan illa afnaytaha
any remnant but that You terminate it,

وَلاَ قُوَّةً إِلاَّ اَوْهَنْتَهَا
wa la quwwatan illa awhantaha
any power but that You enfeeble it,

وَلاَ رُكْناً إِلاَّ هَدَمْتَهُ
wa la ruknan illa hadamtahu
any probe but that You destroy it,

وَلاَ حَدّاً إِلاَّ فَلَلْتَهُ
wa la haddan illa falaltahu
any sharp sword but that You notch it,

وَلاَ سِلاَحاً إِلاَّ اَكْلَلْتَهُ
wa la silahan illa aklaltahu
any weapon but that You deactivate it,

وَلاَ رَايَةً إِلاَّ نَكَّسْتَهَا
wa la rayatan illa nakkastaha
any pennon but that You turn it over,

وَلاَ شُجَاعاً إِلاَّ قَتَلْتَهُ
wa la shuja`an illa qataltahu
any dominant one but that You kill him,

وَلاَ جَيْشاً إِلاَّ خَذَلْتَهُ
wa la jayshan illa khadhaltahu
and any army but that You defeat it.

وَٱرْمِهِمْ يَا رَبِّ بِحَجَرِكَ ٱلدَّامِغِ
warmihim ya rabbi bihajarika alddamighi
Throw them, O my Lord, with Your stamping stone,

وَٱضْرِبْهُمْ بِسَيْفِكَ ٱلْقَاطِعِ
wadribhum bisayfika alqati`i
strike them with Your cutting sword

وَبَاْسِكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ تَرُدُّهُ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
wa ba'sika alladhi la tarudduhu `an alqawmi almujrimina
and Your power that You do not ward off from the offensive people,

وَعَذِّبْ اعْدَاءَكَ
wa`adhdhib a`da'aka
and torture Your enemies

وَاعْدَاءَ وَلِيِّكَ وَاعْدَاءَ رَسُولِكَ
wa a`da'a waliyyika wa a`da'a rasulika
and the enemies of Your representative and the enemies of Your Messenger,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ
salawatuka `alayhi wa alihi
Your blessings be upon him and upon his Household,

بِيَدِ وَلِيِّكَ وَايْدِي عِبَادِكَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
biyadi waliyyika wa aydi `ibadika almu'minina
at the hand of Your representative and the hands of Your faithful servants.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِكْفِ وَلِيَّكَ وَحُجَّتَكَ فِي ارْضِكَ
allahumma ikfi waliyyaka wa hujjataka fi ardika
O Allah, suffice Your representative and argument on Your lands

هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ
hawla `aduwwihi
against the terror of his enemy,

وَكِدْ مَنْ كَادَهُ
wa kid man kadahu
deter the conspiracies of those who plot against him,

وَٱمْكُرْ بِمَنْ مَكَرَ بِهِ
wamkur biman makara bihi
ward off those who plan against him,

وَٱجْعَلْ دَائِرَةَ السَّوْءِ عَلَىٰ مَنْ ارَادِ بِهِ سُوءاً
waj`al da'irata alssaw'i `ala man aradi bihi su'an
make the disaster of evil to be upon those who intend ill to him,

وَٱقْطَعْ عَنْهُ مَادَّتَهُمْ
waqta` `anhu maddatahum
stop their schemes against him,

وَارْعِبْ لَهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ
wa ar`ib lahu qulubahum
make their hearts panic about him,

وَزَلْزِلْ اقْدَامَهُمْ
wa zalzil aqdamahum
make their feet convulse,

وَخُذْهُمْ جَهْرَةً وَبَغْتَةً
wa khudhhum jahratan wa baghtatan
grasp them gradually and suddenly,

وَشَدِّدْ عَلَيْهِمْ عَذَابَكَ
wa shaddid `alayhim `adhabaka
intensify Your torment on them,

وَٱخْزِهِمْ فِي عِبَادِكَ
wakhzihim fi `ibadika
disgrace them among Your servants,

وَٱلْعَنْهُمْ فِي بِلاَدِكَ
wal`anhum fi biladika
curse them in Your lands,

وَاسْكِنْهُمْ اسْفَلَ نَارِكَ
wa askinhum asfala narika
lodge them in the lowest class of Your fire,

وَاحِطْ بِهِمْ اشَدَّ عَذَابِكَ
wa ahit bihim ashadda `adhabika
encompass them with the most intense of Your punishment,

وَاصْلِهِمْ نَاراً
wa aslihim naran
expose them to fire,

وَٱحْشُ قُبُورَ مَوْتَاهُمْ نَاراً
wahshu qubura mawtahum naran
stuff the graves of their dead ones with fire,

وَاصْلِهِمْ حَرَّ نَارِكَ
wa aslihim harra narika
and expose them to the heat of Your fire,

فَإِنَّهُمْ اضَاعُوٱ الصَّلاَةَ
fa'innahum ada`u alssalata
for they have ruined the prayers,

وَٱتَّبَعُوٱ ٱلشَّهَوَاتِ
wattaba`u alshshahawati
followed their lusts,

وَاضَلُّوا عِبَادَكَ
wa adallu `ibadaka
and misled Your servants.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَاحْيِ بِوَلِيِّكَ الْقُرْآنَ
allahumma fa-ahyi biwaliyyika alqur'ana
Therefore, O Allah, revive the Qur'an through Your representative,

وَارِنَا نُورَهُ سَرْمَداً لاَ لَيْلَ فِيهِ
wa arina nurahu sarmadan la layla fihi
make us see his light to be never-ending without any night,

وَاحْيِ بِهِ ٱلْقُلُوبَ ٱلْمَيِّتَةَ
wa ahyi bihi alquluba almayyitata
revive the dead hearts through him,

وَٱشْفِ بِهِ ٱلصُّدُورَ ٱلْوَغِرَةَ
washfi bihi alssudura alwaghirata
heal the furious breasts through him,

وَٱجْمَعْ بِهِ ٱلاهْوَاءَ ٱلْمُخْتَلِفَةَ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحَقِّ
wajma` bihi al-ahwa'a almukhtalifata `ala alhaqqi
combine the divergent inclinations to the right through him,

وَاقِمْ بِهِ ٱلْحُدُودَ ٱلْمُعَطَّلَةَ
wa aqim bihi alhududa almu`attalata
and re-establish the broken-down provisions

وَٱلاحْكَامَ ٱلْمُهْمَلَةَ
wa al-ahkama almuhmalata
and the neglected laws through him

حَتَّىٰ لاَ يَبْقَىٰ حَقٌّ إِلاَّ ظَهَرَ
hatta la yabqa haqqun illa zahara
so that no item of truth will be undisclosed

وَلاَ عَدْلٌ إِلاَّ زَهَرَ
wa la `adlun illa zahara
and no item of justice unthriven.

وَٱجْعَلْنَا يَا رَبِّ مِنْ اعْوَانِهِ
waj`alna ya rabbi min a`wanihi
And make us, O my Lord, of his supporters,

وَمُقَوِّيَةِ سُلْطَانِهِ
wa muqawwiyati sultanihi
of the strengtheners of his authority,

وَٱلْمُؤْتَمِرِينَ لامْرِهِ
walmu'tamirina li-amrihi
of those carrying out his orders,

وَٱلرَّاضِينَ بِفِعْلِهِ
walrradina bifi`lihi
of those satisfied with his deeds,

وَٱلْمُسَلِّمِينَ لاحْكَامِهِ
walmusallimina li-ahkamihi
of those submissive to his judgments,

وَمِمَّنْ لاَ حَاجَةَ بِهِ إلَىٰ ٱلتَّقِيَّةِ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wa mimman la hajata bihi ila alttaqiyyati min khalqika
and of those who do not need to practice dissimulation before Your creatures any more.

انْتَ يَا رَبِّ ٱلَّذِي تَكْشِفُ ٱلضُّرَّ
anta ya rabbi alladhi takshifu alddurra
It is You, O my Lord, Who relieve from harms,

وَتُجِيبُ ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ إذَا دَعَاكَ
wa tujibu almudtarra idha da`aka
respond to the depressed when they supplicate to You,

وَتُنَجِّي مِنَ ٱلكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
wa tunajji mina alkarbi al`azimi
and save from grave agonies.

فَٱكْشِفِ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنْ وَلِيِّكَ
fakshif alddurra `an waliyyika
So, remove harm from Your representative

وَٱجْعَلْهُ خَلِيفَةً فِي ارْضِكَ كَمَا ضَمِنْتَ لَهُ
waj`alhu khalifatan fi ardika kama daminta lahu
and make him a vicegerent on the earth as You have promised him to do.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِنْ خُصَمَاءِ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
allahumma wa la taj`alni min khusama'i ali muhammadin `alayhimu alssalamu
O Allah, do not include me with the rivals of Muhammad’s Household, peace be upon them,

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِنْ اعْدَاءِ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
wa la taj`alni min a`da'i ali muhammadin `alayhimu alssalamu
do not include me with the enemies of Muhammad’s Household, peace be upon them,

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِنْ اهْلِ ٱلْحَنَقِ وَٱلْغَيْظِ عَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
wa la taj`alni min ahli alhanaqi walghayzi `ala ali muhammadin `alayhimu alssalamu
and do not include me with those who bear spite and malice against Muhammad’s Household, peace be upon them.

فَإنِّي اعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ فَاعِذْنِي
fa'nni a`udhu bika min dhalika fa-a`idhni
I do seek Your protection against making me so; therefore, protect me against it,

fi alddunya wal-akhirati
in this worldly life and in the Hereafter,

وَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
wa mina almuqarrabina
and make me of those brought near to You.

آمِينَ رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
amina rabba al`alamina
Respond, O Lord of the worlds.


Comment: We see that we seek guidance and help of the Imam of time as well and ask God to guide us by him.

When you say, you can seek guidance from Imam, what do you mean by "guidance"?

You are already a Muslim, you believe in Quran, in Muhammad and the Imams after Him. So, you are already guided. What do you mean to seek guidance from the hidden Imam? Can you give an example, a case, that you or a Muslim may need guidance for?

First, personal can't be proven. So only liars (because Quran says proof is always needed) will testify to themselves constantly being guided by Imam Mahdi whether at spiritual level of unseen light or he meeting them to public, although some might not be able to keep it away from family or wife or close friends. No one will claim this in public but a liar.

However, according to Du'a and hadiths and Quran, believers (not saying I am one of them) can have one or all of these or some:



(1) The light of the Imam is the light. The Quran talks about Mohammad (S) connecting people and being a rope between heaven and earth and so do hadiths and prayers taught by Ahlulbayt (A) emphasize about Imam of time being that. And Sahefa Sajjadiya emphasizes the Imam of time is Baha'al Alimeen (The glamour/glory of the world).


(2) Him meeting/talking to you which we see in Du'a Nudba we see is it possible that we find a way to meet and so if this happens, he might be giving you warnings where you are at if you are falling into darkness and moving to disbelief or using you if you are luminous in heart and firm, he can give you commands. Interpreting some of Quran where you are blind to aspects of it, that he wishes to open up. This can be short meeting one day followed up by longer ones for example.

(3) He has close followers and friends, who he sends and commands constantly in unseen and seen, meets them in world also they are connected to his light, not all people can be this, but we can hope and strive for it.

(4) He can show you miracles and signs of this nature.

(5) Fights on behalf of you and carries you against the dark magic and protects you constantly with his powers from Satanic magic and Iblis forces from Jinn and humans.

(6) Covers you with light that protects you and is a barrier against Iblis

(7) Provide constant help if you in darkness and tries to shed light and pull you back to God and he too whispers to your heart like Iblis whispers through his minions.

(8) Send some of his closest friends and helpers to assist a believer

(9) Has non-Muslim (officially) doing Taqiya in important places in the world while they hide their faith and don't outwardly show it, they are of the highest believers (some of them)

(10) Sword of God to be picked up, held on to you, inwardly, and used to fight for soul against dark magic and sorcerers and evil leading astray jinn attacking a believer.

(11) Connect you to his family (Mohammad, Ali, Fatima, etc) as he provides link to heaven and earth as a rope.

(12) Teach you powers and bestow you them, including talking to dead, traveling/warping on earth to where you want, and other powers if he sees you are fit and won't cause you disbelief and be arrogant and rebel, thereby not only losing your power and connection to Imam, but rebelling against him with Devils accusing him as sorcerer.

(13) Explain through friends of his on how we should politically act

(14) Give you directions to fulfill whether whispering or meeting you, in God's plan,, or a mix of these and for you to be part of the Laylatal Qadr plans of God from now on.

So, God, the Prophet and other Imams are incapable of doing these same things?

Bahais often quote some hadiths in my view way out of place, context, and give it their own meaning.

I see you have your view, a view with no given Authority.

A Baha'i has access to explanations on the meanings of the Quran and Ahadith, contained within the Message of the Bab, Baha’u’llah and further explained by Abdul'baha and Shoghi Effendi, to which for a Baha'i is Allah’s given explanations.

Is there any point to debating this over and over?
