Is Darwinism useful?

About me:

After a nasty fight, all three referees of a forefront journal, "Stats," have given my manuscript admiration and approval. It is now official; I can think understandably. Is it Dawn of Big Data? QuestForTruth real name. I hope, it will contribute to the technology.

A DEBATE FOLLOWS.

What is the use of Darwin's Theory of Evolution?
Citizen, who does Harry Potter think you are? Monkey. He and we were taught at school that we were born by a herd of (obviously very drunken at the moment) monkeys. So you can say to Harry Potter whatever you want. Yes, Harry Potter will "put a sick monkey to sleep" because of that, but since you are seen as a monkey, it is inconsistent for Harry to feel offended by you in any possible way. This is the usefulness of Darwin's (false, according to God of Science) Theory of Evolution.

Is Darwinism useful?

That depends on what someone takes for granted as useful and useless.

To me depending on context Darwinism can be useful or useless.

I know plenty of people who aren't useful, seemingly because they will not look at any evidence impartially, and often because they have preconceived notions brought on by a bout of religion. :D

I know plenty of people who aren't useful, seemingly because they will not look at the limit of evidence impartially, and often because they have preconceived notions brought on by a bout of belief in that only evidence is useful. :D

One can always look at limits and expand or contract such. Religions? Not so much, given they are often placed in time as some base point.

Yes, it has caused a lot of research into evolution that has helped medical science tremendously.

And of course it has filled in one of the gaps in the god of the gaps scenario

Why do need to put useless and pointless videos in your posts?

Personally i think its a ploy to make the page load more slowly.

After he's done a few posts with useless videos the page becomes more useless than the videos as in it can lock up a browser even on a reasonably decent device and good internet connection.

Usually before that stage i tend to ignore his threads

I haven’t thought of that.

Darwinism has nothing to do with science. Darwinism is a phone misrepresentation of the theory of evolution used by creationists. Their intent is to frame the acceptance of evolution as if it is some sort of dogma, hence the "ism" at the end of Darwin. Darwin is often criticized for ideas that he got wrong back in the 1860's, but that have been adjusted over the 150 years since by better instrumentation and advancing knowledge about nature. To say "Darwinism" is a derogatory label and reference by creationists. The word is not used by anyone else.

So is Darwinism useful? Only in the sense that it helps identify those Christians who are biased against science and biology specifically. It is a way creationists show their cards right before they get their butts smacked in debate.

I have added a video in the thread. Please see.

The videos and Harry Potter nonsense aside. The science of evolution is intimately a part of all Biological sciences including the applied technologies of biology like medicine in understanding the nature of genetics no and in the history of life. They cannot be separated. Virtually 95%+ of ALL scientists endorse evolution as a part of their discipline in the biological sciences.

Yes, ALL biological sciences are useful including the sciences of evolution. Particularly in understanding the genetics of lafe. It is only those clinging to an ancient non-science agenda that reject the sciences of evolution.
