What is Religion Doing Wrong

Why isn't religion working? especially christianity since it is the largest religion in the world?

If religions is so great, why does there seem to be more aggression than ever in the world?

In my opinion, Christianity has mostly sold its soul to Trump. With actions come consequences. So if the number of Christians dips lower, they have no one else to blame. Not the left (which has hard times reaching even anything close to communism or "far left" in America), not some other rising religion, and not some sort of drops in moral values (since an equal or higher number of world problems seem to be happening within the Christian community). I try to be sympathetic, but there comes a point where you just have to stand back and watch karma play out, for better or worse.

I think Gandhi said it best when he said, "Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

Of course, there are good Christians too, who don't deserve this kind of collapse on their religious institution, but I take it like the Babylon spoken of in Revelation. "Come out of her my people, be ye not partakers in her plagues."

Of course, this is a tough subject to talk. Christians may feel hurt by my words, but I'm really just talking about the evangelical movement as a religious and political movement, and not about any individual in particular. Plus I was asked.

Aggression seems to be part of some nationalistic types of Christianity.
Thus in a sense you could argue it is working, and that is the source of the problem.

In my opinion.

The reason why I happen to care so much at all about Christianity and what it does to begin with is its Bible warns of false prophets, anti-Christs, etc. And some verses also suggest a deceiving aspect to them.

Of course, some Christians interpret that as being non-Christians it's talking about. But I interpret it having read the Bible as people masquerading as believers of the religion and who may even to some degree think to themselves that they are believers, perhaps even being quite confident of it.

This question is so general that I don't really understand where it is coming from.

My first thought was that you are probably spiritual but not religious, and there is no religion that works for you.

Christianity as a religion is still growing about the same size of the percent which the population is increasing. And Islam is doing better than that actually.

As far as why there is aggression in the world, that doesn't really have anything to do with religion. Sure, maybe a little of it does, but since the rise of liberal democracies and freedom of religion that really isn't a huge concern anymore. All major religions preach and practice peace, and the ones who claim religion as part of their violence are neither religious or spiritual.

Terrorists have no religion.

I don't think there's more than ever. And a basic premise of Christianity is that there will never be peace on earth until Christ reigns.

It's because of evolution and nature. Survival of the fittest. Religion is just a coping mechanism and platform.

Too bad, and so, so, so weird. This proves that these Christians shapeshifted into AnthiChrist

Because

The 10 Commandments are about:
"thou shall speak truth"

I don't like to debate
But all truth lovers will agree
That Trump personifies the opposite

When I first saw Trump I was reminded of "AntiChrist". But I must admit, he knows how to play people, and how to perform a show, and of course he is good at lying and deceiving.

Luckily there are only 300 million Americans tops following him. Although there are even indians who make Trump their Guru

God is really Great
Religion 'think' it's Great

Troubles start when humbleness goes
+
More trouble if arrogance raises its hood

e.g.:
If it's claimed "my way the highway"
+
if it's claimed "your way leads to Hell"

Is the issue more with the words 'doing' or 'working', and perhaps it is simply that religions can never be 'right' - or at least to all - given that we have so many religious divisions, together with those who don't need such? So perhaps failure is inbuilt to religions - given they can't all be right - and also perhaps because they rely on set points in the past (their origins), and which is often a drag on progress (and contributor to conflict), even as they try to promote peace and morality. Plus, we just have the human condition to deal with (and accept) despite what religions might say, and this might account for why so much aggression and division occurs, and probably will always occur even if we might be less aggressive than we have ever been in the past.

because:
1. not everybody is religious or Christian
2. governments push for wars regardless of what (religious) people may think or wish.

You answered your own question. Abrahamic religions generate hate and therefore aggression. Evil+.
Are you saying mass shootings in the US happen because of Christians?
Did war in Ukraine happen because of beliefs rather than threat toward moscow?
Do people take narcotics because of faith?

Therefore?
