The USA is insane about guns. The right worships them and does not get upset no matter how many die. To them, everyone should have an AK-47 with them at all times so they can blaze away if and as needed.

Where I grew up, if someone took your property, criticized you, made a 'pass' at your girlfriend, you had to fist fight him.It was like a 'code'. Now, the great majority of males did not actually keep the code but they expected 'you' to keep that code. Somehow it was more manly to gossip about others who were 'punks' but not to admit it is someone's choice how they respond to insult and not how you insist they respond. Almost every movie suggested a gun fight or a fist fight was the way to settle differences. If we mix in someone who suffers with mental issues and has access to firearms we have a greater probability of people finding answers to their problems by using deadly force.

If it is only the "right" then why doesn't the left do something about it?

Because the sensible gun control minded Democrats don't have a filibuster proof Senate majority to prevent Republicans from filibustering sensible gun control legislation efforts.

The problem is that to many in the U.S. guns symbolize masculinity, and thus perceive any attempt to restrict guns as an attack on masculinity itself.
I'd like most everybody to realize that cowards enable mentally disturbed persons the means to be mass shooters!

What about executive action from the President?

As far as I know, executive action by the P.O.T.U.S. is limited to directing government agencies how to enforce gun control laws already enacted by Comgress.

Maybe but there have been times in the past the democrats had a chance to pass these laws.

Still the point is maybe voters vote these politicians in. Likely it's enough that want the republicans there so it still comes down to what the voters concerns are.
Americans either don't care and enough that do care (about government control of access to guns) keep the republicans in power.

Polls say voters care more about the economy than these mass shootings.

As I just said on the other thread, Americans care more about human rights than human lives.

Americans also care more about their pocketbooks, as long as it was not their child who was killed.

It seems this young generation of
people has a serious psychopath problem.

Most people who commit crimes are young males and it's always been that way. Too much testosterone and not enough maturity is a bad combination. But yeah, what the heck leads people to do this crap as opposed to less violent crimes?

I don't think these laws are good enough.

I think there needs to be more scrutiny on anyone who wants to own a semi-auto rifle and handguns. I suggest a license to own one of these is required. Anyone who owns a semi-auto rifle or handgun without a license faces a felony charge. There will be a $10,000 bounty on anyone who owns an unlicensed gun. No more gun show loopholes. No more private sales of guns except hunting guns.

Bills are consistently passed in the House under Democrat majorities. These bills die in the Senate since Republicans refuse to vote for them.

Oddly many voters think Republicans are better with the economy but history shows that Democrats are.

To be fair to the young whippersnappers. This isn’t exactly a new phenomenon in the US
My country has had I think 5 or 6 “major-ish” shooting incidents since we tightened regulations after our last massive one in 1991.
We’ve had no actual school shootings since though.
Various European countries similarly tightened control after their major shootings in the early 90s and have only experienced a few since. No school shootings I don’t think though.
The US has had I think 288 school shootings since Columbine if I recall the stats correctly
