Noahidism and Jesus

It is possible to be noahide and christian at the same time if you do not believe in the trinity?

The Gospels contain little falsehood compared to the Tanakh. Gospels are revealed by God from Jesus (a) to each disciple to mankind. The different Gospels verify each other and compliment each other.

Trinity is not found in the words of Jesus (a) anywhere.

You can't be in certain groups of churches, however there are churches that will have you as a Noachide with atypical views of major doctrines that are compatible with Noachide considerations. It is possible to be both under these conditions. This will not satisfy many people though. You will be a bit of a loner but not entirely alone. After having read rosend's link (which is interesting and succinct) I think rejecting the authority behind the dogma is what probably moves you towards Noahide status, because it gives you freedom of interpretation. Trinity can be understood in ways that are not problematic. It is all about authority.

A lot of people on the Jewish side will not see this rejection of authority as a positive. A lot of Christians will not, either.

The authority of the various churches is what forbids you from understanding things differently and from trying different ideas. One church will have you state the Jesus and God are equivalent. Another will have you state something else. The authority behind the dogma is what limits what you are permitted by your brothers to think. If you reject that and move into your own mind, then you are not limited, but you will limit which churches accept you on their role list. It is a trade off.

There are three major doctrines that you will need to reconsider. The dogma of trinity itself will not necessarily bar you, depending upon what it means to you. You will have to reform your views of sin and of what Jesus dies for, but this need not exclude you from being a Christian. It could be (and has been) argued that it will make you more Christian not less. A better understanding of sin cascades into a different meaning for Jesus death as well, so you can be a Christian and a Noachide with an unusual interpretation of the trinity, of sin and of Jesus death. You just can't be a member on the roles of many mainstream churches.

To all intents and purposes, no. One may as well just be a Christian at that point, as neither Jews nor Christians will really accept you, either.

In Bible Christian means a disciple of Jesus. Person is a disciple of Jesus, if he remains in words of Jesus. Jesus didn't speak about Trinity, so it is not necessary for a disciple of Jesus.

It was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.
Acts 11:26

Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
John 8:31-32

This is really a very complicated question. There is a conflict between those Jewish Scholars who consider Christianity to be Avodah Zarah (idolatry) and those who consider it Sheetuf (associating something besides God with God). But if the person doesn't believe Jesus to be God, aka they reject the trinity and modalism, they really are neither Avadah Zarah nor Sheetuf. I cannot find anything online that addresses this situation, so I cannot really answer your question.

In the practical sense, however, it is as Rival was saying -- such a person would still be rejected by Noahides and Jews.

I would point out that modalism is also a heresy in Christianity and not how the Trinity is to be understood.
