How Did Allah perfect His favour on Muslims?

According to Quran, one of the things that Allah had done for People who lived before Muhammad, and His followers, was Teaching interpretation of dreams and events:

“Thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of dreams or events ( Ahadith) and perfect His Favour on you and on the offspring of Ya’qub (Jacob), as He perfected it on your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ishaque (Isaac) aforetime! Verily, your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” 12:6

Did Allah teach interpretation of dreams and events to Muhammad and His followers in order to complete His favour? How did He do that?

Here's the verse from Quran.com. Maybe I'm missing something, but, in context Surah 12 is retelling the story of Joseph. Why do you think this verse is directed to Muhammad and his followers?

You are correct, it is not directed to Muhammad and His followers.
But, if God taught interpretation of dreams and events to past Prophets and their followers, why wouldn't He do this same favour to Muhammad and His followers? Why would God treat Muslims differently?

It seems to me that the verse is only speaking about Joseph interpreting dreams. That's the context of the verse. Maybe it's talking about past prophets too, but I don't think it's including their followers.

No. That's what the Qur'an is for. All you have to do is follow it because it tells you all you need to know. It says that pretty clearly in 5:3 - "This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.".

Well it says also offsprings of Jacob:

Thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of dreams or events ( Ahadith) and perfect His Favour on you and on the offspring of Ya’qub (Jacob), as He perfected it on your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ishaque (Isaac) aforetime! I mean, if Allah only taught interpretation of dreams only to Joseph, why the verse includes so many others. Seems more like some generations to me.

Yes, does that mean Allah taught interpretation of dreams and events to Muhammad, and at least some special companions or offsprings of Muhammad?

You may be right. I'm simply going by the surrounding verses. Have you looked at the word-for-word translation?

12:6 - The Quranic Arabic Corpus - Word by Word Grammar, Syntax and Morphology of the Holy Quran

The question is who is the 'you' referring to. I claim it's Joseph based on context. The verse could be broken out this way:

"Sahih International: (And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of narratives) and (complete His favor upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He completed it upon your fathers before, Abraham and Isaac.) Indeed, your Lord is Knowing and Wise."

Breaking it up this way would have the interpretation of dreams conferred to one person and His favor on you (the same person) and the family of Jacob and Abraham and Isaac.

It seems to me, there is so much emphasis on importance of knowing interpretation of events, in Surrah of Joseph. So, why wouldn't this be of much importance for Muhammad and His companions or offsprings?

12:21
And said the one who bought him of Egypt to his wife, "Make comfortable his stay. Perhaps that (he) will benefit us or we will take him (as) a son." And thus We established Yusuf in the land that We might teach him from (the) interpretation of the events. And Allah (is) Predominant over His affairs, but most (of) the people (do) not know

My Lord, indeed, you have given of the sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of the events. Creator (of) the heavens and the earth, You (are) my Protector, in the world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die (as) a Muslim, and join me with the righteous.

It seems, there is connection between completing favour, giving sovereignty with knowing interpretation of events. It seems, knowing interpretation was a requirement for Joseph.

I don't know.

12:100 Sahih International: "And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, "O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before. My Lord has made it reality. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.

12:101 "My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous."

It's Joseph speaking here.

You may be right. I don't know anything more than what's written in the Surah.

Was that the very last verse to be revealed?
If not, I can see a few problems...

Many say it was the last verse. But, have you noticed the odd placement of that statement? It's thrown into a verse that's mainly about diet. Such an odd non sequitur.

It was not the last verse revealed.
But that makes no sense, because in that verse Allah says he has perfected and completed Islam - so what else was there for him to say?

Whether it makes sense to you or not, is different, then what in reality happened. :)

It makes no sense - full stop.
Once Allah has perfected and completed Islam, any further additions or changes mean that it was not perfected or completed.

No, that's what the words mean. Here, read it again:

This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.

How can that mean anything other than what it so clearly states? There is no "understanding" involved here.

It definitely does not mean what you think.
