Why argue about an invisible God?

God has made it clear to me that a creator exists, and supernatural phenomenon does take place. I have experienced it many times.

But 13 different people can read the Bible or Quran , and come up with 13 different interpretations , and very different messages from the exact same text!

Why not just admit that God is invisible, he rarely ever speaks clear, precise, audible messages to anybody. Religious Dogmas sometimes create incessant arguments, hatred, and sometimes even wars, and theologians who dedicate their whole lives to studying Scripture and seeking God's will, are still divided on what the truth is.

Devout Protestants who devote their whole lives to studying Scripture, sometimes insist the Catholic Church is the pagan Whore of Babylon.

Others dedicate their whole lives to the Catholic faith, take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, pray night and day, live in monasteries and convents, and can swear that is where the Holy spirit and Jesus lead them, and argue that the Catholic church decided the New Testament Canon, created the first Christian Bible at the councils of Rome, Carthage, and Hippo, therefore the Bible is a Catholic book.

Yet some people who read the same book, it stirs up hatred for the Church!

So, why continue arguing and fighting over an invisible entity that doesn't speak clearly, and argue about truths regarding this entity, that can never be proven?

Why not let everyone have peace with their personal path, and not argue about the invisible God, and Doctrines that cannot be proven?

Because many people have acknowledged that they see me, and I'm quite talkative in a given situation.

For me personally, arguing about God is pretty much the most fun I can have on the internet.

I think people argue for different reasons. Some people are convinced that "x, y, or z dogma about God is true, therefore it is my duty to correct others who are mistaken." Perhaps they may even be motivated by compassion for others. Other people might be motivated by contempt.

At its worst, it is an attempt to coerce or control the thoughts of others. At its best, an attempt to share what one deems a joyful and liberated existence within their particular faith with another person.

I personally debate more along the lines of what OP says. There is much we don't know. Debate can be a way to test our ideas for strength and maybe learn a thing or two along the way. Maybe the wisest thing to do is show people the particular vantage point you look from, rather than insist they accept the same truths as you do.

Amen! It's useless.

Why argue? Let other believe what helps them. And maybe believe with them, so you can help as well. ;)

Every Christian claims to do that, but context is important. I was in a psyche war with a guy who ripped his eyes out because Scripture says "if you're eye causes you to sin, pluck it out".

Obviously it is not meant literally. Scripture says "God doesn't listen to the prayers of sinners", but that obviously is not the case

Jesus also said "call no man you're Father, call no man you're teacher", but other verses of Scripture prove that the statement doesn't mean what it says.

Scripture says "faith of a mustard seed can move mountains, ask anything of the Father in Jesus name, and it will be granted, delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart", but I think we all know it means something different.

Scripture often is not meant literally.

Also, nothing in the Bible says the Bible is the final authority on anything, and it is easily verifiable that the first Christians were not Bible Christians!

I think it is meant as Jesus says it. But, there are better options than plucking eye out.

Scripture says "God doesn't listen to the prayers of sinners", but that obviously is not the case

Please show where that is said and why it is not true?

Jesus also said "call no man you're Father, call no man you're teacher", but other verses of Scripture prove that the statement doesn't mean what it says.

Please show what scripture shows Jesus doesn't really mean what he says?

Scripture often is not meant literally.

I think it is always meant as the speaker intended it to be taken.

Also, nothing in the Bible says the Bible is the final authority on anything, and it is easily verifiable that the first Christians were not Bible Christians!

If Bible is not the final authority, who is? I rather take Bible as the final authority than some human.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Well I never had orientation when I was born, so God never crossed my mind until I entered a church as a kid. Plenty there to see and say but God was a no show.

So you rather take a human's authority over some humans authority?

I believe Bible has testimonies of people who witnessed for example Jesus. To me they are more reliable than someone who came after 2000 years and has not been there.
