How far is Heaven?

John Gospel 20:17 Jesus replied, “Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. Go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’

And later we read:

John Gospel 20:27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and examine my hands. Extend your hand and put it into my side. Do not continue in your unbelief, but believe.” 20:28 Thomas replied to him, “My Lord and my God!”

First, Jesus told Mary Magdalene: “Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father” and he informed Mary Magdalene: ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father’. Then, few days later Jesus told Thomas: “Put your finger here, and examine my hands. Extend your hand and put it into my side.” From these verses we can easily conclude that in few days Jesus had ascended to Heaven to see his Father (God) and then descended back to Earth to see his beloved disciples. So, for Jesus, Heaven is not that far.

It is believed after that meeting when Jesus told Thomas to examine his wounds, Jesus revealed himself to five hundred people and he talked to them, and those people saw him ascended to Heaven. Then, this question arises; what stops Jesus to do similar presentation more often? After all Jesus is hearing people’s prayers, and he loves people, and he forgives their sins, and he suppose to have the full control of the Creation, and Heaven is not that far, then I see no excuse for Jesus not to show his Divine Body to the people who are questioning the validity of his Divinity. We can not accept that Jesus loved those 500 strangers more than all the Christian saints since then. Jesus was so generous to those 500 strangers, but since then he has ignored all his devoted worshippers. We can forget about the Battle of Armageddon, but what is so wrong for Jesus just to stop by and affirm people’s faith in his Divinity? He did it once before, and his presumed characteristics demand him to do that act more often.

It is unacceptable that Jesus is having fun in Heaven and he ignores his presumed responsibilities for so long. Many Prophecies about Jesus have failed. It is such a disgrace on the Christianity that Mighty Jesus stays away for so long and he does not embrace people with his tangible physical presence. The Christians have run out of all plausible excuses for those Failed Prophecies! Jesus might not know the exact date for the “End Time”; “the Battle of Armageddon”, but he could have stopped by more often and proved his Divinity to more people.

By the way, if Jesus is in charge of the Creation, then, why doesn’t he know the “End Time”!? Doesn’t this contradict with the claim of his Divinity!?

Heaven is on the other side of space. In the beginning there was heaven and earth. The fimament (space) separated the waters from above from the waters below. This put a space between heaven and earth.

The reason Jesus was unaware of when He would return has to do with the sismilarity to the Jewish wedding tradition. Jesus accepted the church as His "betrothed" at the Last Supper and the giving and taking of the cups. In Jewish tradition the bridegroom would return to his father's house and begin building an addition onto his father's house. When the father felt that the new place was ready he would send the bridegroom to collect his bride.

Jesus mirrors this. He went to prepare a place for us. Only the Father knows the time of Christ's return and will imform His Son then. There is more to the similarities of the wedding feast. It is an interesting study.

As to Jesus not knowing in relation to His deity remember that He is both fully man and fully God. As man there were things He learned. As God there is nothing He is unaware of.

Exactly, we have imagined a good family for God! Then you wonder in whose image this theology has been made of!? The Church authorities have copied the Greek’s mythology! But we learnt that Greek’s mythology was no good!

But we are told that Jesus is of the same substance as the God; the Father!

Beside, I proved that Jesus went to Heaven and he came back, so traveling back and forth to Heaven for Jesus is not a problem. Also, God created this Universe in seven days, then why Jesus is so slow!? Is Jesus still learning how to use his Devine Power!?

Wow, and everyone I know has said there is no such thing.

I do not see where Yahshua went and came back. That wouldn't be good because then it would mean to many that the second advent has already occured and that ain't a good thing if we are all still here. ;)

Yahshua didn't go to the Father until they all saw Him assend up as in ........

Mar 16:19 So then after the Master had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of Elohim.

Luk 24:51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

The Abrahamic Theologies are part of our Humanity cultures, which belong to ALL of us, and in practice they are affecting every one of us. So we as members of the human race have every right to be concern about what these institutions are teaching to their followers. These doctrines are not so benign and peaceful educations, which they only mind their own business, they do reach out and touch the whole communities of nations. Under the banner of Peace and submission to God they do insight enormous Crises.

The affairs of the Faith are too important that we take them so lightly and allow them to be manipulated without an exhaustive examination. There have been so many abuses of the Faith. Our religions are supposed to remedy our human’s miseries, not add to them. The clash of the religions is serious matters, which are affecting everybody, and we have seen the root causes of the “war on terror”. So it is our vital interests to resolve these problems. The fanatics cannot be left alone, since their activities are affecting everybody.

You were lied to.

Yes, I have been lied to for so many years, and about so many things. What a great feeling it is to finally have truth. No offence intended, though asking a question to learn something that is not known, or to affirm, or not, something already learned, is, to me in any case, not silly. Now if one thinks he/she knows so much as to consider a question of basic knowledge, to them, to be silly, is to me very arrogant.

I have learned, through my studies, a great "pearl" from the questions of UNES in this thread. It is of very great importance to me even though I am sure we do not share the same understanding of the truth.

This further shows me that scripture reigns true with the saying that not all will see nor hear.

Edit: I changed my typo of "peril" to "pearl".

So let me see if I have this straight. You think that asking why Jesus is so slow that it took Him three days to get to heaven and return is not a silly question?

First answer that came to mind was: Two Doors Past Jupiter, Second House on the Right.

But seriously, it appears that you are a Christian because you spoke of "Jesus" and quoted the "New Testament." So that is fine, I'll remind you of what Jesus said concerning this:

“The Kingdom of Heaven is Within You”

and ... “The Meek Shall Inherit the EARTH.”

If you are looking for a physical location of “heaven” or “god” outside of yourself, then you should plan to encounter extra-dimensional and extra-terrestrial beings (i.e. ETs, UFOs). An attempt to find a physical location for “heaven” is the equivalent of what the Gnostics consider the “Outer Darkness.” If there be any truth to Jesus’ message and he was truly an ascended master, then his teachings reflected not a physical location but a long-term pursuit of introspection and enlightenment. Looking for “heaven” or “god” outside of yourself leads to Alien worlds.

Not at all.

This person may really believe that Yahshua left and came back and was wondering why it took 3 days.

Have you never had a question that others made fun of? Are you thinking that it is your time for revenge?

1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Is it time to grow up?

Heaven is where the entity of God exists. I am not refering to the God that exists inside all of us nor the parts of God in everything but rather the corporeal(spirtual not material) form of God resides.

sandy whitelinger, you misunderstood it, the question was after 2000 years why it has taken so long for Jesus to come back?

Heaven is surrounding us, in a transcendental dimensions, above the fabric of this reality in consciousness.

As for John being Abrahamic I deny that strongly, on the ground John’s gospel is anti-Christ.
It stands against Christ (in the other gospels) and the Bible, so how on earth we can say it is abrahamic is beyond me, especially if in John, Christ is said to have called all the other prophets, no nothings, until he came along....looks like Pharisees making stuff up again, as John was.

We have to be very concern that you feel “peril”. In this country which is founded on; the most freedom for the individual’s rights, how the environment has changed so far that we have to acknowledge this notion! That is the most troubling thing, which it shows how far we have gong wrong to lose that VALUABLE SPIRIT which once the Americans were enjoying.

:foot: Oop's ........... LOLOLOLOL

I claim "TYPO"!!!!!!!!!!

I meant "Pearl".
