I like forklifts. I just sold one, so I'm down to 3.
I plan to limit it to at most 2 hereafter.

My current favorite is my 5k# Cat.
Propane powered, sideshift, 3-stage mast, 4' forks, solid tires.
It looks similar to this'n...

My other keeper is this late 1940s Towmotor.
The frame & counterweight are welded steel.
The counterweight is filled with lead.
These aren't rare, but they're uncommon.
I've only seen one other.
2 stage mast, no sideshift, hard tires, gasoline
Continental engine.

Mine is similar to this'n, but without the fancy paint.
(My tires are more manly.)

I could use one to get Ares out of bed in the morning(or, mid afternoon)...

Though an excavator might be more practical.

I have always enjoyed the job of operating fork-lifts. But then I have a pretty good sense of three-dimensional space. I have seen people try to operate fork-lifts that did not have that sense for the space around them, and it was best to just RUN AWAY!

Why do some people overload forklifts? Even I know you're not supposed to exceed the posted weight limits, whether it's ladders, bridges, elevators. And yet, some people just don't bother.

I've seen it also on various crane fail videos. People apparently not mindful of the load limit, and they lose their load.

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
I once worked in a warehouse where two forklifts would have jousting competitions, driving at each other with raised forks. That was probably in the days before 'Elf an' Safety though.
