Outright assassinating Putin would probably be cleaner than what the US usually does to remove foreign leaders we don't like, including democratically elected ones. Which is fund violent extremist revolutionaries until they, themselves become the new problem.
But outright assassination is on-the-books illegal and probably shouldn't be threatened in public towards someone who is both very comfortable with assassination and also has lots of nukes.

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
I think the Senator needs to wait for a formal declaration of war before any clandestine operations.

I think putting out a hit willy nilly isn't the best approach like your some mafia don.

Of course the Ukraine might entertain such a thing.

Putrid Putin is acting like a mafia don.

The White House has criticised Republican senator Lindsey Graham after he appeared to called for the assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin on Twitter.

The outspoken American had said the only way Russia's invasion of Ukraine ends is "for somebody in Russia to take this guy out".

Graham, who represents South Carolina, tweeted: "You would be doing your country - and the world - a great service".

On Friday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters: "That’s not the position of the United States government and certainly not a statement you would hear come from the mouth of anybody working in this administration".

Graham's comments have drawn outrage in Russia, with the country's ambassador to the US slamming them as "hysterical Russophobia".

Or perhaps it's just what they think, & they aren't concerned
with propriety. I sympathize with wanting Putin assassinated.
As do I -- and I mean that (as hard as it is for me to say)!

But it's not just propriety -- his words have given Putin a reason to really step up security (so that a "Julius Caesar" solution is even less likely), but also to create a suspicion that there is a plot "in the west." And I suspect that may also put Zelensky at even greater risk. It was so irresponsible.

Think about what you said: "it's just what they think, & they aren't concerned." I honestly think that Graham is at all concerned about the impact of what he says -- although he damned well should, he's a U.S. Senator! -- but rather just what the sound-bite from his opining will do to further his political ambitions. I think he is a very, very small man. Like his idiot compatriot Ted Cruz.

I wonder how Snowden feels living in a country that had invaded the Ukraine.

Of course Stephen Segal, best buds with Putin.

His latest tweet....

I'm not suspended from the ceiling above a barrel of acid by a rope that burns a little faster every time I tweet, you concern-trolling ghouls. I've just lost any confidence I had that sharing my thinking on this particular topic continues to be useful, because I called it wrong.

I think Putin can recognize a blowhard when he hears one.
But Graham will be useful for propaganda.
