Actually Genesis says that When God breathed life into Adam, he became a LIVIVG soul. Not that God added a soul. That lump of clay was a dead souls and became alive when God gave it life. The same word that in translated "soul" is also translated creature or animal or beast. So man's body IS his souls. Man has TWO parts body and spirit. Or you could say soul and soirit. Body and soul are the same thing.
I cannot agree with that statement that the soul is a body. and here's why, God is Spirit correct, and in the OT did God have a body? no, but do he God have a soul? yes, scripture, Isaiah 1:14 "Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them." here, God clearly say he has a soul. but no body.

I agree but not to say:
  • ‘Soul = Body’ but ‘Soul = Person’
Remember that the flesh repository is unimportant to God. It is the spirit that counts. The spirit has the prominence in a person.., that is shy scriptures says that God looks big upon the outer appearance (The stature of the body) but upon the spirit.

And, ‘And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell’.

When the Soul is ‘Body and Spirit’ another man can kill the body of another man but of course the spirit just goes up to God until the resurrection. But God can kill the Soul (the whole person in clouding the spirit - DESTROY, both!) When the spirit us DESTROYED the person NO LONGER EXISTS.

Point of fact: In the second resurrection and the judgement the wicked are DESTROYED. This means there will be NO REMEMBRANCE OF THEM.

Simply dying (killing/Death of the body) does not remove remembrance of the dead - as we all know from those who have passed in ‘sleep’. We commemorate in graves and writings and celebrations or commiserations and continually refresh remembrance of them periodically. They are not forgotten.

No! ‘Person’ is ‘Soul’.

We might say ‘Nobody was in the room’, ‘Nobody got hurt in the explosion, etc., but that’s just sloppy English. We properly mean ‘No Person….’

Agree - See my comment above.

Note that the Hebrew word we use for ‘Soul’ (Nepesh) can be translated as any of the following (from Strong’s Concordance):
  • A living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion
So I would be very careful about saying God has a Soul in that the people of the time when it was written did not understand so much of how the body worked - and the later translators used translations that THEY understood in their time period. Some terms are only approximations and best guesses at their true meaning. Note things like ‘Being Dead’… because the ‘dead’ person could no longer interact in the living world they were deemed to be ‘in Hell’ or ‘Gone out of existence’ hence the belief or lack of belief in a bodily resurrection (Sadducees vs Pharisees). Jesus came and let it be known without doubt that ‘dead’ only meant ‘Sleeping’ in the bosom of God (The spirit departs the body and goes up to an inert state with God who gave it) … “He is only sleeping. I will go and wake him up”… bring the spirit back into the body to enliven the body.

God is all powerful. If he wants a body he can have a body. Just like the word translated "soul" can be translated other ways, maybe this is a poor translation. The Bible says God is a spirit. Period. No mention of body or soul.

I don't agree. I prefer this Jewish viewpoint
1Thes 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

and again, the difference between soul and spirit:

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, andpowerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

did he not have a body that he came in? John 1:14. and in the resurrection is not God, the Lord Jesus, in a body that Spirit do not have? Luke 24:36 "And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you." Luke 24:37 "But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit." Luke 24:38 "And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?" Luke 24:39 "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." Luke 24:40 "And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet."

'One God' is an assertion, for which no proof has ever been given for either for one God or many..
God is like a blank drawing sheet, you can draw any image on it. One can draw one figure or one can draw a multitude.

But one would be drawing one's opinion. Not necessarily the truth.

The philosophy of science limits science to just data that comes into the brain via the sensory systems. Science takes an extroverted approach to reality; interacts with the environment. Science, by its own philosophy, can not fully deal with internally generated data from the brain. Dreams, from example, need to viewed from the inside and cannot yet be viewed from the outside via tools that extend the five senses and conform to the philosophy of science.

God appears to be connected to that internal zone, where the philosophy of science does not allow science to fully go. Science, like psychology, which does attempt to deal with internal things, like dreams, is called soft science, since it has to take liberties with the stricter rules of its extroverted philosophy. The psychologist may ask their patient to give details for what they feel or think and will have to take their word for it, without external verification. The may have to rely on on experience and trends. This is where softness appears.

The fact remains that science has not been able to find God using its extroverted philosophy. Science appears to have shown that God is not outside us, in form that we can perceive with our five senses. Yet, even given the chance to deny God, via the logic supplied by atheism and the philosophy of science, billions of people still appears to get internal verifications that make them what to believe in God.

These internal verifications has been going on since the dawn of civilization and still occur in modern times. There is something there. This is why dreams and visions are an important part of religions; prophesies. Science would need to upgrade its philosophy, to include internal verification, or come to terms with the fact that its current philosophy is not designed; too limited, to deal with internal consciousness phenomena of the human brain. A microscope cannot see dream details. This does not mean they do not exist. It means the wrong tool and wrong approach is being used. It will guarantee failure, which is then called success, based on unconscious internal reality overlay.

If you look at any innovation, they all begins in the mind of a creative person. If you were to ask science to verify this new idea, in advance, they are not suited to do this since it is only a seed that lack form. They will instead deny it, until the day comes with they have something tangible to investigation, within the limits of its philosophy. Science cannot deal the internal reality driven budding of innovation. They have to wait until late in the process so they can use an external approach.

For example, the iPhone began as an idea in the imagination before it became part of reality, so science could investigate. God works the same. God is part of continuing creation. The vision of Jesus of a religion, preached to the entire world, was easy to deny, via all the extroverted philosophies, until it became manifest. The charisma of faith is baed on experience from the inside. This is the same source that has advanced all areas of science; internal processes and extrapolations outside one's own time.

One God. Period.

In Orthodox Christianity, God is a trinity, so he isn't exactly one.

BUT in a few religions, God is absolute One. How is that possible? What are the characteristics of only One God? Why only One God?
We are 1 being but 3 parts. Body, soul and Spirit. We are made in Gods image according to God.

We are 1 being but 3 parts. Body, soul and Spirit. We are made in Gods image according to God.

We must consider that the flesh amounts to nothing.

So what are we really? We are of the Human Spirit and Jesus says we must be born again, born into Faith that Jesus was the Christ.

That is the potential within us, that is God's Image.
