Jesus Freak!

This is officially the theme song to celebrate @Rival when she accepts Jesus as Lord and savior (Messiah).

When she mentioned her studies of Catholicism, soft spot for the Church of England, and the effect her Catholic boyfriend is having on her, this song came to mind in honor of her journey and where it could lead some day!

I haven't listened to that song in over 15 years! As far as Gospel music goes, it's the best I know of.

It's worth listening to. Thanks Rival! :)

Great song. It's hard to sit down when this one comes on.
I like your taste!

I have to keep reminding myself that what is a treasure to me is someone else's trash.

But I couldn't agree more with your description of it's effects! I actually have been walking around unable to sit still to it , come to think of it!

One of my favorite memories of the song is that we were at a skating rink, and when the song came on, I couldn't get on the rink fast enough. It was awesome.

Great song and a great Christian band. It's too bad they're not together anymore.

I still love the quote that DC Talk included with their song 'What If I Stumble?'

"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” - Brennan Manning

Waaaa!!! :(

Nah, I have no reason to pout, since I'm not considered a Christian by Christians.

Plus I can't blame you. Christianity is quite the **** show so often!

Hebrew History is undoubtedly the most interesting of any bloodline, and has influenced the world more than all others combined, from what I gather and can tell.

Jesus doesn't qualify as THE Messiah.

It is possible that God comes to us in many forms, and one was an impoverished baby born of a Virgin, wrapped in swaddling clothes, laid in a manger, with three wise men following the star of Bethlehem, showing up to do him homage in such terrible estate.

This God-Incarnation later dies naked, crowned with thorns, lacerated, almost blaspheming in total darkness and abandonment (actually quoting the Psalmist), not only as a slaughtered lamb to atone for sin, but also because God wanted to share in the misery of the most humiliated, the despised, the criminals, the poorest of the poor, the tortured, and those who die most tragically.

Definitely not as glorious as King Solomon, not a warrior like Samson, not nearly as successful a servant of the Jews ( as figures like Moses and King David), but still might have been one of the many forms of God , and a messiah, if not THE Messiah.

There are a lot of impoverished miserable people out there pissing and ****ting themselves, or completely hopeless, abandoned, lepers, despised, humiliated, racked with pain, poorest of the poor, and crucified in one form or other, who need a naked Messiah, God-Incarnation, born-in-a-barn-poor, crowned with thorns, and crucified, because that is how they feel all the time, and can relate , better love a God who can enter their torture chamber and share their hell!

They might need a God drug through the mud at their level, humiliated and crushed.

It isn't my cup of tea, and don't like the message much, and Christianity tends to tick me off as it is usually practiced and preached...

But I'm open to a lot coming from a Jew from the tribe of Judah, who has more documented miracles linked to him than any other historical figure, who currently has billions believing he rose from the dead .

(How many people believe any other figure in history rose from the dead like that? He has billions. So ...I try to remain open to possibilities when presented with such remarkable phenomenon linked to any historical figure.)

Definitely not THE Messiah though. His failure to meet and fulfill such huge important prophecies and expectations, is something factual , of which cannot be denied.

So, I can't fault Jews for wanting to keep Hebrew tradition and identity. Plus, the way it could harm their relationships with loved ones if they convert, is something to consider.

Also, the cruelty of which Christians have repeatedly treated Jews, and the many rampant conspiracies to this day, makes me not fault those who remain Jewish.

Plus traditions like eating flesh and drinking blood of Christ , and God being a man who died a criminals death, are kinda opposite of what Old Testament commands. Another reason I cannot fault a Jew. Good luck! :D

Is your Av Osiris?

How many Osiris entities do you think there actually are? If I'm not mistaken, every Pharaoh who passes and qualifies, becomes an Osiris after death, no?

I'm not as knowledgeable about Egyptology as you, and the only reason I am at all, is because a random black guy who didn't give me his name , gave me a book on it in security hallway of my apartment, regarding "the Land of the dead", proper burials of the Pharaoh, what he is to be buried with, the rituals, the ceremonies, the Obelisk, the Mummies curse, and how King Tut's ghost apparently killed the guy who disturbed his remains shortly after.

It was fascinating because my Religion Shinto, venerates the Sun Goddess , with the Sun Disk as highest religious symbol associated with a Deity, and that is so similar to Sun God Ra being the greatest Egyptian Kami, the Sun Disk being a holy symbol in Egyptian Religion as well (above the heads of many Deities in art) and found out Shinto cemeteries often have many Obelisks in pictures I've seen.

Shortly after that discovery , I had this homeless guy visit me, and it wasn't the guy who gave the Egyptology book to me. He said "don't tell anyone I was here. Tell them Ra visited you".

I said "Ra like the Egyptian Sun God". He said "Sure. I just made that up."

I've shared that story with you before, but I'm reminding myself just as much as I'm reminding you, because it brought me into romance and communion with the mysteries, mysticism, and faith of Ancient Egypt!

As I've said, It is also remarkable, because right before that "Ra" visitor, I was looking at messages a 20th century leader buried beneath an Obelisk for the 21st century to find, calling him a "savior, Messiah, New kind of Emperor".

His surname is an alternative for Jacob, written on the Obelisk. Jacob who was represented by the Sun in Joseph's prophetic dream, and Obelisks are linked to the Sun God worship, honor, and veneration. Joseph's story is possibly my favorite Old Testament story, because had he not been sold into slavery, he could not have controlled Pharaoh's household, possessions, and Kingdom, to the point Pharaoh told those who went to him in famine "go to Joseph".

Pharaoh was willing to put aside Theological differences and respect the Hebrew God , and recognize the one anointed by the Hebrew God, as being even superior to Pharaoh, who was Theologically an Incarnation of God to the Egyptians.

That Pharaoh, (not sure what his name was) is my personal "Osiris" (but I'm guessing there are many.

It causes a bad joke to come to mind "how many Osiris entities does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Answer: two, but the hard part would getting them both in a lightbulb.". :D.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I know Osiris wouldn't do that and I don't want to offend. Hopefully they have a sense of humor. :) I'm sure there are female equivalents of Osiris too, no?

There must be many of them. It's what I want to be when I grow up. :D

It is. In Kemeticism we call him 'Wesir' or 'Osir'.

There's one, but everyone is joined to Him in death if they are righteous and pass through the Judgement. Each one is an 'Osiris' in the sense that he or she has been given renewed life as Osiris was. In some myths, women become one with Hathor. I've not heard of a female Osiris as such, though. It's like when Christians say they are going to become one with God.
