@Aupmanyav is probably your man for this.Is it possible to be hindu and buddist at the same time?
Is it possible to be hindu and buddist at the same time?
Much of Hinduism is already syncretic. If you're going to play mix and match, these two are a wise choice, as there is much overlap. But as always, it behooves the question, 'Why?' What is it about Hinduism that you feel the need to turn to Buddhism, ands what is it about Buddhism that makes you turn to Hinduism? Is it possible to be hindu and buddist at the same time?
A buddha is Vishnu's avatar. Is it possible to be hindu and buddist at the same time?
and I'm not.Belief-o-Matic keeps telling me I'm a Buddhist.
Buddhists worship a particular man of flesh and bones as an ultimate Buddha.
What's that deal now with buddhism?
Why buddhism is a religion based on a simple man???I'm not a worshipper (do you mean pay homage?) and I'm unsure of your "ultimate Buddha" concept. What do you mean?

What did he teach? Not really based on him, so much. Rather his teachings.

It's a rather crude quiz, IMO. I find I don't have a clear answer to many of the questions.
Thank you.I am far from knowledgeable on the topic, but the Four Noble Truths come to mind. The first being all life contains suffering. The second is suffering stems from cravings and incorrect identification on who 'I' am. The third is optimistic and says we can purge ourselves from these and stop suffering, and the fourth suggests the by right living and thinking we can get to a place where we are able to do this.
There's also the Eight Fold Path of right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.
Maybe @Secret Chief or @crossfire can elaborate more.
I like selectsmart's quiz better.
