Yes it makes sense, have a lot of the same humor here in Denmark. But haven't heard about this before, seems entertaining.

I must admit I haven't watched this series, perhaps being put off by the apparent portrayal of 'some with accents' representing the less thinking, and the examples shown don't entice me. I had the same feeling about Mrs Brown's Boys and Bread, and even Shameless, although I probably enjoyed the first few episodes of this last one. But then I like much other stuff that might apparently do much the same so perhaps purely down to taste.

Each to their own, but please don't put This Country in the same category as Mrs ***** ****.
I wouldn't say they are "less thinking" just desperately trying to make their lives seem more interesting to themselves than they actually are.
