explain that to a 11 year old that is being mentally, sexually, and physically abused. everyone may have a physical age but their mental/spiritual maturity is not necessarily a one to one; especially if they have never had a good role model, mentor, guardian.

Interesting you mention that... when I reflect on the 'vampire's' behavior, I do find she seeks out people that could be exploited as 'weak, or seeks to find a person's weakness, so she can 'rebuild them in her image', so to speak.

I think you've explained the problem. That is why children are still under the care of their parents. Kids need a good two parent family and if possible extended family for support.
What we can do is encourage healthy families/role models to let children know they have a choice.

everyone wants to be loved; some to the point that they will put themselves at great risk for great rewards but will be victimized. once the vampire has sunk it's fangs into the host it's hard for the host to remove it. the parasites don't want to give up their host that easily.
