Is atheists and agnotics pegan?
Dictionary.... PAGANThe word "pagan" was first used around the 4th century CE, by Christians in Rome, to describe people who didn't adhere to their new religion but rather were polytheists -- as the vast majority of the Roman World were, in the first centuries of our era.
As an atheist, therefore -- someone who doesn't believe in or worship any deity at all -- you cannot call me a pagan. I'm not a polytheist, I'm a non-theist. I rather suspect, although the reasoning might vary a tad, the same can be said of agnostics.
Are you trying to tell me that I must abide only by definitions you adhere to? I did point out that when the word "pagan" was first used, it had the meaning that I gave. You don't like that meaning? Go back to the 4th century CE and tell them to change it. (You'll have to brush up on your Latin to do so.)Dictionary.... PAGAN
