Why do believers love God?

I'm not talking about imagination.
But that is what I am talking about and if people have faith so weak it cannot withstand my inquiries then it is pretty weak faith.

“Meditate profoundly, that the secret of things unseen may be revealed unto you, that you may inhale the sweetness of a spiritual and imperishable fragrance, and that you may acknowledge the truth that from time immemorial even unto eternity the Almighty hath tried, and will continue to try, His servants, so that light may be distinguished from darkness, truth from falsehood, right from wrong, guidance from error, happiness from misery, and roses from thorns. Even as He hath revealed: “Do men think when they say ‘We believe’ they shall be let alone and not be put to proof?” 5

That's seems like a good answer to me. I think I'll quit this tread now and get to my other alerts.
Had I never started this thread I would not have seen that Hidden Word. I only know a numbered few of the Hidden Words and I found that one while searching for the word Love. If fortitude under God's decree and patience under God's trials is a sign of love, I must love God. ;) So now I don't feel so bad about myself.

For everything there is a sign. The sign of love is fortitude under My decree and patience under My trials.

Actually, I remember showing that Hidden Word to you. I guess you forgot. Or maybe because of my bad memory I didn't. No matter.

I see it is because God is naught but Love.

The most sublime and perfect Love we can imagine or can experience in this life, still does not show us the immensity of that Love.

The pain and suffering we face in this world is all part of Love, Faith allows us to embrace all the good and the bad, in the knowledge that only Love results.

I guess it is what many call enlightenment, where we transcend self to be immersed in that Love.

No easy feat, it is a battle we all face in this life, Regards Tony
I love Jesus Christ because He loves me...

We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19

It is a choice to meditate, but what comes out of it is not a choice, Imo.

There is a pilgrim note that is widely used as it is good advice. It shows how meditation works and why it does not work.

"While in Haifa, the beloved Guardian of the Cause gave to the writer (Mrs Ruth Moffet), the most concise, complete, and effective formula she has ever seen, for the Dynamics of Prayer. After saying to stress the need of more prayers and meditation among the friends, he said to use these five steps if we had a problem of any kind for which we desired a solution or wished help.

First Step – Pray and meditate about it. Use the prayers of the Manifestations as they have the greatest power. Then remain in the silence of contemplation for a few minutes.

Second Step – Arrive at a decision and hold this. This decision is usually born during the contemplation. It may seem almost impossible of accomplishment but if it seems to be as answer to a prayer or a way of solving the problem, then immediately take the next step.

Third Step – Have determination to carry the decision through. Many fail here. The decision, budding into determination, is blighted and instead becomes a wish or a vague longing. When determination is born, immediately take the next step.

Fourth Step – Have faith and confidence that the power will flow through you, the right way will appear, the door will open, the right thought, the right message, the right principle or the right book will be given you. Have confidence, and the right thing will come to your need. Then, as you rise from prayer, take at once the fifth step.

Fifth Step – Then, he said, lastly, ACT; Act as though it had all been answered. Then act with tireless, ceaseless energy. And as you act, you, yourself, will become a magnet, which will attract more power to your being, until you become an unobstructed channel for the Divine power to flow through you.

Many pray but do not remain for the last half of the first step. Some who meditate arrive at a decision, but fail to hold it. Few have the determination to carry the decision through, still fewer have the confidence that the right thing will come to their need. But how many remember to act as though it had all been answered? How true are those words-"Greater than the prayer is the spirit in which it is uttered" and greater than the way it is uttered is the spirit in which it is carried out.

The above statement belongs properly to the class of statement known as "pilgrim's notes" and as such has no authority but, since it seems to be particularly helpful and clear, it was felt that believers should not be deprived of it."

Hmm....Jews in Nazi torture camps (God's love?????)

It is strange why this is always used.

God warned us of the consequences of disunity and of prejudices of race gender and religion.

Those actions are the lack of Love, and those actions show us the consequences we face, if we do not Love.

Susan is dubious about 'Abdu'l-Baha. Wrong answer.

A right and very, very, very important answer.

I see Susan has trouble with the Love of God, as the Covenant is a very critical part of the Love of God.

There is no better example of Love than Abdul'baha.

When is an answer timely may be what you offer.

Love is not mystical -- nor is any other human emotion. All of them are the outputs from the algorithms that define you as an organism, and their purpose is to guide you to making choices that are beneficial to you passing on your genome.

You’ve never been awe struck or mystified by the power of love?

Xi Jinping is doing fine without any love.
God warned us of the consequences of disunity and of prejudices of race gender and religion.
That is a deplorable way of warning when it costs millions of life. Does the all-wise all-knowing God not have any sensible way to warn?

Lain: "Glorification of saints."

That includes the recently sainted Father Junipero Serra, who used Native American slave labor to build California's missions. He beat them, killed them, and instilled fear of eternal burning in hell if they didn't obey him (and Him (God)).

May he pray for us and may the Good Lord save us by his prayers, amen.

There are millions who served others, even at the expense of their life. Take the example of medical workers around the world in these times of Covid-19. What was so special about Abdul Baha?

Firstly, the life of Abdul'baha takes nothing away from those that also give to humanity, I thank them one and all.

One would have to study the life of Abdul'baha to understand how it was special.

I do not feel worthy to offer proof on His behalf, His life spoke for itself.
