In Arabic, the metaphor is akin to say "Muqarab" (close ones to God) per hadiths.

The chosen close ones to God are "sons of God" in other languages, but since the term was so literal in daughters and sons of God usage in Arabic culture of that time. The Quran saying he is not a son, means it's not as far the Arabic language usage is.

So you are right: A Portion of the Gospel
