MI Courts: OK If Wheel Falls Off Car

Summary....
Get your tires rotated on your car? They didn't fasten a wheel,
so it fell off causing injury & damage? Court rules that "performing"
a job on a car is achieved by starting the job, not completing it.
There is no duty to fasten the wheels to the car...or to finish any
job on a motor vehicle.

On the plus side, the court ruled entirely in violation of Michigan
law, so this might be re-visited after enuf really bad plublicity.
Ref...
Court: Tightened lug nuts not guaranteed in tire rotation
Excerpted...

I've seen first hand that idiots & crooks can become judges.
When I've had others work on my vehicles, I've found that
I always must re-torgue all lug nuts, & set tire pressures.

If he'd been driving a Citroën, DS instead of a Seville, the car wouldn't have swerved into the curb.

I've had that problem with a Discount Tire down the road. They always over inflate my tires, despite the fact it's right onthe door frame--as it is with most cars--what the PSI is supposed to be.
I lost a hubcap because I was lazy and let Pep Boys adjust my drum brakes.

Especially the lies of those who are about to overturn Roe now but claimed it was settled law during their confirmation hearings.

Jesus, that's a bad ruling.

Yeah, I did your surgery but I didn't bother to finish. Don't hold me accountable for your death.
My sister actually had a doctor perform the wrong surgery on her. Now granted, it was a surgery she needed but not the one she thought was happening. Unreal.

Finding a good mechanic is as important as a good banker. They seem kinda rare though.

Those crazy plaintiffs and their frivolous lawsuits, next they will be suing landlords for not fixing furnaces or stoves. This is precisely why we need a loser pays court system. Can you imagine that those poor businesses owners probably had to shovel out thousands of dollars in legal fees. That is the true injustice here.
