I was going to post this earlier, but I forgot. :p

So I'm sitting here doing some work from home and catching up on some RF stuff when I felt hunger pangs. I thought to myself, it's kind of early in the day to be hungry given I just ate breakfast a short time ago. I got up and walked to the kitchen, and there sat my full bowl of poha I had made about a half hour earlier.

I have an excellent memory because I can't remember a thing that I've ever forgotten.

Shurely "had just eaten"? :D Those auxiliary verbs and tenses again.......

But yes I know. The other day at the fishmonger I was waiting while they filleted my order and when they handed it to me I offered to pay, only to be told I had just paid, a couple of minutes earlier. Now that it is just swiping a card at a machine I suppose it leaves less trace in the memory than fumbling for cash, but eerie and disconcerting nonetheless. A voice in my head whispers "cognitive decline" when this sort of thing happens. Yikes!

They say that, as you age, memory is the second thing to go.

(I don't remember the first)

Not this time. The thought occurred in the past tense, as did all the other verbs in the sentence, so no need for a past participle or an auxiliary here. ;)

Oh yes, I was going to ask, what the hell is poha? It doesn't sound very nice: like an obscure breed of dog - or something you might scrape off your shoe if you own one. :D

I see you forgot to make me a bowl, as well... :(

Please keep your shoes out of the poha...

I boiled dry three pots of water, before I remembered to put farina in it the other morning, lol.

Oh that looks quite nice. Is it rice? And is the yellow from saffron? And what are the brown round objects? nuts? Sultanas?

It's flattened rice. It has peanuts, onion flakes, green chiles, curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric, lemon, and coriander.
