Yikes! Glad you're stitched up.

I have two different relatives who own them, and I've been cut by both sets. ;)

Sharpness has nothing to do with quality. I could edge a credit card sharp enough to shave with -- but the edge wouldn't last. Quality is determined by primarily by type of steel.

All knives need to be sharpened regularly if they are to stay sharp.

And what does "guaranteed forever" entail?

Yowza! Be careful!

We have some of this brand, and some other brand that someone gifted us...You have to be VERY VERY careful around them...I've gotten a number of nicks and small cuts...so I'm VERY deliberate in using and washing them...

Dull knives are dangerous. They take more force to use, they don't cut straight, they glance off and slip.
Sharp knives go where you guide them with minimal pressure or slippage.

Correct it's not just sharpness but edge retention and durability as well.

These hold their edge very well. You can ship them back to cutco as needed and they will resharpen or send you a new one. They also have a lifetime warranty.

Send them out to be sharpened? I sharpen my knives after every couple of usages. Doesn't everyone?
