Monday is my move day. Say a prayer. My house is a big dirty mess it makes e sick and my allergies are bad
This will be a lot healthier in a garage apartment. However, I am going from using my wheelchair to a walker with a seat on it. I hope I can adjust to walking. The trip down there which is 5 minutes away then the walk into the apartment will be hard. I hope I don't get too stressed out. Say a prayer or snd some good thoughts my way.

Hey there my Bnet sister. I hope your transition offers a better situation for you. Life often puts us on the ropes, and our only option is to find the inner strength to make it through. You will find it.

I'm glad you're getting out of that mildew. If you improve part of you life the rest benefits. Its even possible that if your allergies decrease it may help with the walking. Allergies take energy, and they confuse the immune system etc. You may feel a lot better after moving.

Best of luck, thoughts and prayers with you. My husband has, in the recent past, and still when he feels the need, uses a rolling walker with seat. I think both your mind and heart will benefit going without the wheelchair.

Well, I am a little worried about the concrete floor. I hear sometimes it can you problems with leg, back, and hip pain. I was thinking of getting a bunch of antifatigue mats.

I am moved finally. i didn't think I could do it. I had to walk down my steps and wasn't sure I could but did and walked to my sister's suv with the walker. I couldn't get in her car, it's been 2 years since I have been out. So I had to get my niece to bring her car. Got there and had to do a long walk for me up to my garage apartment door and made it. When I sat down in the dining room I got sick though as a result of all the walking so I did have a bad reaction to the walking.

Now I just have to get used to walking with my walker instead of using the wheelchair, I'm doing it but it's not easy. I am glad I am moved it was hard. No more possums!

The mats may be costly and take time to get. In the meanwhile additional padded footwear or socks could help. Also keep a pencil and pad with you to keep a list of things you want. That way you consolidate the times you need to move around getting things.

I am settling in and finally getting used to walking with a walker instead of my wheelchair. Its hard though when you've been in a wheelchair for a year or two to get up and get used to walking. I have a physical therapist coming to see me hopefully eventually I can learn to walk without the walker.
