I have yet to hear a good solution...

For those who think trans women should stay out of women's bathrooms, I have yet to hear a good solution to this picture and scenario that would happen as a result of such legislation:

One thing I can agree with the other side on though, is exploring the idea of a "third gender" bathroom.

I can't verify the authenticity of that picture. Would you please do it?

I don't get it, really...

Just use the damn bathroom, and get out. Who really inspects the other people in the public restroom? I don't even typically make eye contact... Pee. Poop. Whatever it is you have to do. And then leave.

Transgender folks have already been using bathrooms that correspond to their gender, pretty much since there have been bathrooms. The only reason it's become an issue lately is because conservatives have made trans people their latest enemies, and have passed laws banning trans people from doing what they'd been doing all along with no problems.

Just let people pee in peace.

You haven't heard about it because that isn't the point.

This legislation isn't about ensuring that trans people use the opposite bathroom to the one they're using now; it's about creating an untenable situation for trans people to keep them out of public spaces altogether.

Bathrooms in nightclubs, bars, schools, etc are often where some gather to chat.
If I had a nickel for every time I have seen females having to go to the bathroom with their friends, I would have a lot of nickels :p

That's weird. Who wants to linger in a place that smells like ****?

Maybe the problem isn't which gender uses which toilet... its people who willingly linger in public toilets.

Images like that make me want to take whatever they're on for a better beard. That's the primary issue here. I want one like Aaron which went down to the hem of his garments.

As for bathrooms it can be made a non-issue by not gendering them or people ceasing to care about them, it's a hella weird obsession to be concerned with who is in and who is out of them. Maybe psychoanalysis is needed. But the bathroom issue is secondary to the beard issue. What shall I do about that? I don't know.

Why must toilets be gendered?

Have individual toilets in individual rooms for whoever gets there first like in a house. So have say 6 toilet rooms in a restaurant or whatever.

It's so easy.

Its a start. Change the stalls so they go from the floor to the ceiling with a locking door. Their own little room.

No I mean a separate room altogether with one toilet in, as your toilet is at home. So a toilet, sink, baby changing area etc.

Just have lots of these for whoever.

The commentary on the picture is inconsistent and seems designed to elicit a "gotcha!" rather than make a reasoned argument.

Pre-op trans women still have male bodies, so by the logic in the picture, they shouldn't be allowed to use women's bathrooms with people's "sisters and daughters." It's an argument purely based on physical appearance rather than facts about how safe such an arrangement would be or whether it would present an issue for biological and post-op trans women when using women's bathrooms.

Just another reason I find brief posts on social media to be a rather poor method of talking about any issues of considerable complexity or nuance. Many are merely aimed at generating reactions instead of employing sound logic.
