So about Biden's larger spending social bill

I was wondering about Biden's 1.75 trillion social bill, which is separate from his 1+ trillion infrastructure bill... what does the 1.75 trillion dollar bill have in it, keeping in mind recent cuts to it to get it down from 3.5 trillion, that's so good for us it justifies the spendiness?

I'll let someone else deal with the question asked as I'm strapped for time. But let me just ask you this: Did you complain when the Republicans passed Trump's massive tax cuts that sharply ramped up our deficit? A simple "yes" or "no" would suffice.

Free 2 year community college tuition has been dropped from the bill.

12 week medical leave has been dropped down to 4 weeks, and for those making less than $100K.

Some enhanced Medicare benefits such as dental vouchers, things with vision, etc.

Extended earned income credit and child tax.

Slightly higher wages for daycare employees, slightly less costs for parents.

universal preschool for 3-4 yr olds with state participation.

Can’t remember the rest.

The spendiness is fine in my opinion as long as it’s truly the wealthiest being taxed to pay for it all, as they can wipe their arses with a few billion each and not even realize it’s missing. What will be a big problem is if unrealized gains taxes start to trickle down to the middle class within a few years.

I'm a Democrat socialist. I do support the around 3 trillion in spending Biden wants to do, but we'd disagree on 50% of how it should be spent. I'm a Democrat who seems to be more aligned with the ideas of Sanders than Biden. I'm also critical of Biden's hesitance in cancelling student loan debt.

I didn't complain at the time online, but I'm against it.

I'm pro free healthcare, pro LGBT+, pro taxing billionaires (but they also don't have unlimited money so we have to get it right in our spending of their money), pro secularist form of government, pro making robots do the work, etc.

One politician I have a lot of respect for is Schumer, but I think there was a lot of mis-spending on both sides during the Trump administration. I support less unchecked money to businesses for unchecked business loans, which can lead to scams, and more money to citizens. Sometimes more targeted relief for citizens does work, but it's best when it's combined with more general citizen relief as well. Having both.

Hopefully not inclusive with Pelosi's "You got to pass it in order to see what's in it" mentality.

I'm willing to bet it's plenty infested with tons of earmarks and riders as well.

Let's see now inflation is and will be a major problem for some time to come correct?
There is a major issue getting supplies to retailers, correct?
When the demand is greater than the supply the price of goods go up, correct?
When the price of goods goes up inflation continues to rise, correct?

Now we have a bunch of idiots wanting to put more money into circulation, correct?
Those getting the money want to purchase items, correct?
The demand goes up and the prices go up, because the is a shortage of goods, correct?
Inflation continues to rise, correct?

Any intelligent people see a problem here?

I have my personal concerns that the people who usually spend won't see a lot of the money, and the money will go into the pockets of the type of people who buy stocks. But that's just me.

Now if this bill does somehow increase inflation, and doesn't give the money back to lower/middle class American taxpayers... I see it as even worse than if inflation is increased, but the American taxpayers get enough money to afford the inflation instead, through stimulus checks, etc.

This is one of the reasons why, if I sound critical of the bill, why I sound critical of it.

You see, in my view, I see trillions and trillions and trillions of spending, and if anyone does happen to suffer from it, it will be lower/middle class Americans, yet little of that money going to lower/middle class Americans in general, and not in a "special interests" way.

Thanks for this as I wasn't sure where you're coming from, and I'm with ya btw.

Bingo.

But we have some people here who whine about the Dems' proposal saying it's "inflationary" and/or "ramps up the deficit", and yet they didn't say that when the Pubs overwhelmingly passed the Trump tax-cuts that went mainly to the well-heeled.

Let's see now, inflation increase.....the cash I have in savings, 401K, and retirement income is worth less....so yeh I have an issue with inflation.
Don't you?
My retirement funds come from my country's social security system, so that's where my concerns are centered.

As for my savings, my bank accounts have interest rates that are so low that for some time, combined with various fees and other nickle-and-diming that they are wont to do, I was actually losing money by putting it there.
What savings I have are basically tied to my apartment at this point.

Well we are getting a 5% COLA to Social Security and my military retirement; however that doesn't even start to cover inflation.
