I thought the movie stars were aliens
Some clearly are reptilians, but they are terrestrial in origin and opponents of the hostile extraterrestrials.

I thought the movie stars were aliens
Talk to me offline -- I can make him very, very penetrable. Honest!I just started a thread about Shakespeare. I find his writing impenetrable.
That reminds me of Sigourney Weaver...anti-gun IRL,They also star in movies featuring aliens invading the earth but I don't think they support hostile aliens.
Aye, those of us who take guns very seriously wouldn'tI'm guessing this has been said but if alec Baldwin were an actual gun owner he'd have known better than to point a gun at someone and pull the trigger.

but very pro-gun in movies.

Because they like to make money off the guns they claim to hate and don't know how to use ..Is it too early?
As unfortunate and tragic as the onset accidental shooting is it begs the question, why are so many actors in movies that are actively anti-gun act in movies that feature firearms?
"NRA Safety Rules
The fundamental NRA rules for safe gun handling are:
source: NRA Safety Rules1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
This is the primary rule of gun safety. A safe direction means that the gun is pointed so that even if it were to go off it would not cause injury or damage. The key to this rule is to control where the muzzle or front end of the barrel is pointed at all times. Common sense dictates the safest direction, depending on different circumstances.
2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
When holding a gun, rest your finger on the trigger guard or along the side of the gun. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger.
3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
Whenever you pick up a gun, immediately engage the safety device if possible, and, if the gun has a magazine, remove it before opening the action and looking into the chamber(s) which should be clear of ammunition. If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber(s), leave the gun alone and get help from someone who does."
A prop gun by definition can't fire. It was a real gun that was supposed to be shooting blanks. To be fair, though, since it was a prop gun and he was rehearsing, wasn't he supposed to? (I actually haven't been following the story.)
Actually most do. We literally have 900000 hunters in my state. And yet accidental hunting deaths by firearms are usually about 1 per year.Great if gun owners would follow the guidelines. Unfortunately they don't and as a result an American is more likely to be accidentally shot by a school kid playing with his dad's loaded gun than by a terrorist out to deliberately kill people
Is it, really, for you? You don't seem to be particularly shaken, given that your first reaction was to create a thread where you gleefully mock the participant in said tragic accident (and, implicitly, the victim) for your own ghoulish gratification. As unfortunate and tragic as the onset accidental shooting is
Lack of accuracy.Guns are, by design, not made exclusively for target practice: if not, why not use paintballs or other non-lethal types?
Most of my target rifles were 22LR.They are designed to make killing easier.

Olympic sharp shooters use air rifles.Of course. But people like competition and bragging rights. It's why there is an Olympic rifle team.
Imagine that with paintballs or Airsoft...
Admittedly, watching a paintball match would be loads of fun.
You are mistaken. A 22LR is very deadly. It will penetrate a human being deeply enough to kill if pointed at almost any vital organ.Lack of accuracy.
Most of my target rifles were 22LR.
They'd be deadlier used as clubs than to shoot anyone.
So no...they weren't designed to kill anyone or anything.
Ironically Shakespear was considered cheap, bawdy and low brow during his time. We just don't see all the lewd jokes in old English.
Why isn't anyone pointing out that this was a *PROP* gun and that *much* different rules apply? It simply doesn't operate by the same rules as ordinary firearms (even down to the safety mechanisms).
I agree. I didn't mean it as a criticism. More taking note of how something considered by some to be all the things modern media is not received the same criticism.
Basically poking fun at the sterile elitism of the 'they don't make them like they used to' crowd.
Not directed at you or Shakespeare.
Guilty conscience?Is it too early?

More cars = more car wrecksGun accidents and gun misuse are so commonplace in the USA because guns are everywhere and people are so casual about their presence
